Hello, everyone in the Readme community. During the recent Piyamaharaj Day holiday, the author and friends went on a short motorcycle trip to the southern region of Thailand. The destination was Rat Island. The author will review the trip in a lively and exciting way. Let's get started!

"Rat Island", which many people may have never heard of, is located in Tambon 3, Donsak District, Surat Thani Province. It is a small island in the middle of the sea with a population of approximately 80 households or 350 people. The island is only 400 meters from the shore and is connected by a bridge, making it easily accessible by car. However, when we visited, the bridge was under repair, so we had to walk to the island. Despite the rain, we were able to capture some beautiful photos along the way.

The bridge connecting the island, known as the "Saphan Chalermsirirat", will be closed for renovations for approximately 3-4 months. Therefore, those who wish to visit can park their cars on the mainland and take a leisurely stroll, enjoying the scenery along the way, just like us.

The local residents here primarily engage in fishing as their main occupation. You will see boats docked around the island, and there are also boats available for rent. A full boat rental costs 1,500 baht and can accommodate 15-16 people. Activities include boat trips to see pink dolphins, visit the freshwater spring in the middle of the sea, and pay respects to Luang Pu Thuat at Koh Nui. However, due to the rain at the time, we were unable to go. It was a pity, so we could only walk around the island and observe the way of life of the seafaring people.

There are three shrines for us to worship, but I only took pictures of one. I forgot to take pictures because I was too busy taking selfies.

A photo of an aunt knitting a fishing net, showing a peaceful way of life and a very good atmosphere. If anyone wants to escape the hustle and bustle of the city, I highly recommend coming here. It takes about an hour from the city.

The island is easily circumnavigated on foot, making it an ideal destination for couples, groups, or solo travelers. The stunning beauty of the Thai seas rivals that of any other country in the world.

This homestay offers a variety of packages starting from 300-700 baht, including dinner with seafood, local dishes, and drinks. The seafood is particularly fresh, with generous portions of crab meat and large, live prawns straight from the boat.

Enjoy the sunset before heading home.

After our trip, we rode our motorbikes back. I never thought that Surat Thani would have such beautiful tourist attractions. Moreover, the total cost of this trip was less than 100 baht. No need to take a long flight to waste time and money. If you like peace, beautiful beaches, and stunning views, don't forget this place: "Rat Island". You will love it as much as we do.

Love Thailand, don't forget to visit Thailand.
