"Maldives: Don't let it be just a dream."

In the land that everyone calls "Paradise on Earth," I have heard these words since I was a child. Images of thatched-roof resorts on the green sea, contrasting with the bright blue sky, were etched in my memory, and I knew that one day I had to see it with my own eyes. And finally, that dream came true.

After reading many reviews from other users in this forum, I've decided to share my own travel experience in the hopes that it might be helpful to others. This trip has been a long time coming, and I'm excited to finally get started. If there are any mistakes, please feel free to point them out.

- Travel planning -

Before the trip, my girlfriend and I set a budget of 20,000 baht per person for the Maldives. (Is it possible? Yes, it is possible if you stay on a local island where Maldivians live. Hotels cost 1,000-1,500 baht per night and are widely available. We also focused on taking day trips. In fact, we initially considered a hotel on Maafushi Island. However, we questioned whether it would be the "Maldives of our dreams." After all, the Maldives should be about staying in overwater bungalows and being able to walk directly into the sea to see fish and coral. As a result, our budget increased to 42,000 baht.)

I began researching and planning my trip. I wanted to make it special, so I told my girlfriend that I didn't want to visit just one country. I wanted to add another exciting destination. I started looking for flights with long layovers that were within my budget. AirAsia offered a flight with a layover in Kuala Lumpur, and TigerAir offered one with a layover in Singapore. Since my girlfriend and I had already been to Singapore, I chose AirAsia. They had three flights per week, so I booked a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Male for October 11-16, 2016, for 7,400 baht. I would decide later how many days I would spend in Kuala Lumpur before my flight to Male.

A month before the trip, I booked a round-trip flight from Don Mueang to Kuala Lumpur for 2,800 baht (October 10-16, 2016). This brought the total cost of the round-trip flight from Bangkok to the Maldives to 10,200 baht. On the last day, I chose to have a four-hour layover, which turned out to be very fortunate because the return flight was delayed by an hour and a half. Moreover, with this type of non-transit booking, if you don't check in before leaving the Maldives, you have to go through immigration to check in. So, we were running around like crazy, which was quite different from the image I had in mind of relaxing at the gate. It was a new experience for me.

I booked all my hotels through Booking.com because 1. there were discounts, 2. I could cancel, and 3. I could pay at the resort. I'll explain the details later because I slept in 3 different places and I don't know how to explain it without confusing myself.

Day 1: Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur

The author chose to travel with AirAsia on a flight departing at 08:35. They arrived at the airport at 06:00, having already checked in the day before.

The advantages of AirAsia for the author on this trip include:

1. Correct (in the case of not eating, not downloading, not doing anything, just sitting there and walking out to another country).

  1. Consider a stopover in Kuala Lumpur (by booking two separate flights).

Q: Why do you want to go to Kuala Lumpur?

Response: I really want to eat satay!!!

Disadvantages:

1. With only 3 flights per week, there are limited options for the duration of your stay in the Maldives. This may require a 4-night stay.

  1. The flight departs from Kuala Lumpur at 6:55 PM and arrives in the Maldives at 8:30 AM. Yes, it is a very early flight, but it is acceptable to me because of the first point mentioned above.

The in-flight meal was a breakfast set. The taste was average.

The southern sky above our home.

We have arrived at KLIA2, the airport where you will be in excellent physical shape (meaning you will walk a lot). As for immigration, it was a breeze. Now, regarding entering the city, I know of two ways:

1. The KL Express train from KLIA2 to KL Sentral costs 55RM (approximately 500 baht) and takes 30 minutes to reach its destination.

Skybus: KLIA2 to KL Sentral

The Skybus fare from KLIA2 to KL Sentral is RM 11 (approximately 90 Baht). The journey takes approximately 70 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.

Of course, as someone with limited financial resources but ample time, I prioritize making the right choices.

Clear signs are provided, so you can walk confidently without worrying about getting lost.

As you walk, you will encounter the KL Express before reaching the departure level, which is on the same floor as the H&M store. If you intend to take the bus, proceed to the lowest level, which is designated for buses and car rentals. From what I observed, there are numerous bus options available, but I was unable to capture any photographs due to my need to rush to catch my train.

The road to the capital city was occasionally congested. The city was clean and free of overhead power lines, bearing a striking resemblance to Singapore.

Upon arriving at KL Sentral, I opted for a taxi to my hotel in Bukit Bintang due to the weight of my luggage. The fare was 17 RM. To utilize taxi services at KL Sentral, proceed to the ticketing counter within the building, inform the staff of your destination, pay the fare, and wait at the designated pick-up point. Once the taxi arrives, present the coupon to the driver to complete the transaction.

I enjoyed the scenic ride and the cool air conditioning.

Bukit Warisan Hotel: A Budget-Friendly Option in a Lively Location

This review describes the Bukit Warisan Hotel, booked through Booking.com for 1300 baht for three people, including two meals at the hotel's cafe. While the hotel is noted as being somewhat old and undergoing construction in front, making access slightly inconvenient, its affordability and prime location in a bustling shopping and dining area with vibrant nightlife are highlighted as key advantages.

Arriving famished, I immediately ordered a meal. The Indonesian-style fried rice with a fried egg, delicious chicken satay, and "parada" (similar to Taro fish crackers) were all included in the room rate. The oxtail stew and fish and chips were also excellent. Whether it was due to the hunger or the quality of the food, everything tasted amazing. After the satisfying meal, I took a stroll through Bukit Bintang, which reminded me of Siam in Thailand.

From Bukit Bintang, we took a taxi to KLCC for 20RM (not sure if it was expensive or not, but the driver offered a fixed price and we thought it was reasonable). One of my goals in Kuala Lumpur was to see the Petronas Twin Towers, which are truly magnificent in person. Although I'm not usually a fan of sightseeing or man-made structures (I prefer nature), these towers are truly breathtaking, especially at night.

Alor Street, a bustling street food haven.

After a tour of the Petronas Twin Towers, I was famished and headed straight to Jalan Alor, a street lined with restaurants stretching almost a kilometer. Most of the restaurants serve Chinese seafood cuisine. They all offer similar dishes, including shrimp, shellfish, crab, and fish. However, on this trip, I was determined to try the satay, which many reviews claimed was far superior to what we have back home.

The food was truly delicious. The dipping sauces were similar, but the aroma of the spices was much more fragrant. From the three restaurants I tried, the flavors were all on the sweeter side. Overall, I really enjoyed the food. However, I found the grilled chicken to be just average. Another dish I tried was the stir-fried noodles, which were similar to those found in Thailand. There was also a dish of fried fish cakes, which were incredibly delicious with a crispy exterior and a soft interior. Unfortunately, I forgot to take a picture of them.

Observations:

1. The food portions here are generous, with multiple sizes available. Even the small size can be quite filling.

2. The price of general food, excluding seafood, is around 10-20 RM depending on the size of the dish.

3. Beer in Malaysia is very expensive, with cans costing over 100 baht and bottles nearly 200 baht. Be prepared to spend a lot of money if you plan on drinking.

In restaurants, the prices are about the same as 7-Eleven.

After finishing our meal, we bought some beers and went back to the hotel to drink and chat. As we drank more and more, it was time to eat again. "Hey, I want to eat satay again," I shouted. "Sure, let's go," my friend and his girlfriend shouted back. It was one o'clock in the morning. We went down to Jalan Alor again, and in our drunken state, we just chose the first restaurant on the street. It turned out to be delicious.

Honey-glazed pork ribs, tender, fragrant, and sweet. Heavenly!

This dish, whose Malay name I cannot recall, is stir-fried morning glory with shrimp paste. It is incredibly delicious, truly a million out of ten. There was also satay, but I forgot to take a picture. It was a bit spicy, but overall, it was a perfect way to end the first day. My stomach is about to burst.

Day 2 Relaxing in KL before flying to my dream paradise.

On the second day, I woke up at 11:00 AM, which was well past breakfast time. However, I should not have been thinking about food at that moment. I should have rushed to take a shower and pack my belongings to check out on time. After checking out at noon, I walked to Connoisseurs Cafe in front of Fahrenheit 88 shopping mall for a late breakfast/lunch. The cafe is easy to spot as it is painted white and located in front of the Sephora shop. The cafe is beautifully decorated in a cafe style and offers both European and Malaysian cuisine. The prices are relatively high compared to other restaurants in the area, but at around 200 Thai baht per dish, I think it is reasonable considering the quality. I highly recommend it.

The first dish, Nasi Lemak, is a coconut rice dish served with fried chicken, a spicy chili paste similar to sambal, boiled egg, and crispy anchovies. This dish was much more delicious than I expected.

The second dish, Ayam percik, is a coconut chicken curry served with salted egg and rice crackers. The addition of chili paste and garlic adds a spicy kick, making this dish very similar to our home-style cooking.

Despite being a mixed bag, it was undeniably charming. The delicious food brought immense joy.

The tiramisu was the highlight, with a strong coffee aroma and a luxuriously smooth and moist texture. It was the best tiramisu I've ever had.

It's time to go to the airport! Take the Monorail from Airasia Bukit Bintang Station to KL Sentral, then transfer to the KL Express to KLIA 2 Airport. The fare is RM2.60.

The airport is easily accessible, taking about 30 minutes and costing 55RM (almost 500 baht). The airport is not boring. You can walk around, shop, drink tea, sip coffee, and find something to eat. I spent almost five hours waiting for my flight and I didn't get bored. I was actually very excited about going to the Maldives.

Take a sip of tea at Hometown, which offers a wide variety of drinks, including tea, coffee, bread, Malay and Western food, so you won't have to argue with your travel companions.

The tea was very fragrant, but I made a mistake by ordering the French toast with custard and peanut butter. I found it too rich (even though I usually enjoy fried foods).

I tried a samosa and the filling was heavily spiced. I prefer the ones made at home.

It's time to go to the Maldives! At KLIA2 Airport, please allow plenty of time because

1. Walked a long distance

2. Baggage screening took a very long time.

The total time from clearing immigration is approximately 40 minutes. If you have this amount of time, it is strongly advised to avoid shopping, as it could lead to missing your flight.

We have finally arrived in the Maldives! The first thing I did was rush out to see the ocean.

A mere 50 steps from the airport terminal, the ocean unfolds before you.

I wish it were morning already.

Driven by hunger and the fear of shops closing in Hulhumele, we decided to stock up on food at the airport as a precaution. Thai Express was our final choice.

The price of chicken basil rice is almost 500 baht, yes, almost 500 baht. Or would you like to eat an omelet for almost 500 baht? We chose chicken basil, which was very delicious. Stir-fried basil is especially delicious when we eat it outside the country, really.

Tonight, we will be staying at a hotel on Hulhumale Island. There are two ways to get there that I know of.

1. Hotel car pick-up service for 10 USD.

2. Take the Shuttle bus for 1 US dollar.

Of course, as someone with limited funds but ample time, I would opt for the more affordable option. The bus stop is conveniently located just a short walk to the left of the Thai Express restaurant, approximately 30 steps away.

Bus stop sign

The bus schedule runs every half hour, with the last bus departing at 23:30. Don't worry about it being full, as two buses arrive at a time.

Iberry Inn: A Welcoming Stay in Hulhumale

The Iberry Inn, our accommodation in Hulhumale, offered a comfortable and welcoming experience for our group of three. At a cost of 1,800 baht per night, including breakfast, the inn provided excellent value for money.

The staff at the Iberry Inn were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went above and beyond to assist us, including contacting the resort to confirm our upcoming stay and arranging for additional breakfast options beyond the standard offerings. Their dedication to ensuring our comfort and satisfaction was truly commendable.

If you find yourself needing to spend a night in Hulhumale before your onward journey, we highly recommend the Iberry Inn. The combination of affordability, friendly service, and comfortable accommodations makes it an ideal choice.

Upon arrival, we explored the area and came across a busy rice and curry restaurant. We decided to purchase takeaway and enjoy it in our room.

I'm not afraid because I have chicken basil rice. It gives me some peace of mind.

The Maldivian takeaway experience is unique. As a traveler, you'll need to be adaptable. However, the beef curry here is absolutely delicious.

I wish I could blink and be in tomorrow already. Good night.

Day 3: From Hulhumale to Paradise (Adaraan Club Rannalhi)

Good morning, Hulhumale, Maldives. The army must march on its stomach with the hotel's breakfast set and a relaxed and peaceful atmosphere.

During our breakfast, a guest (yes, a guest of a guest) arrived at the hotel cafe. This time, the owner asked, "Would you like a local or Western breakfast?" The guest "ordered local." My friend and I looked at each other, wondering why we weren't asked. We're the ones who love to eat! When in Rome, do as the Romans do, so we decided to try it too. This dish is called "Pullimas," which is roti bread served with chicken curry soup (it tastes sweet and salty, with the fragrant aroma of curry powder. Imagine the filling of a samosa with soup, and that's about it). The red part is a stir-fried chicken curry that is salty and spicy. I liked it again, but what made me feel better than the taste was that the owner didn't charge me. He's so nice! The people here look scary, but they're all so nice. Much nicer than those in KL.

After a satisfying meal, we decided to explore Hulhumale. From what I observed, Hulhumale appears to be a newly constructed island with a well-organized urban layout. I recall reading news about the Maldivian government opening sales for phase 2 of the island, which will be divided into blocks for purchase. If I remember correctly, the price was around US$200 per square meter. For those interested, we have ample time as we wait for my friend's partner to join us from Turkey at 2 pm. Therefore, we can relax at our leisure before heading to the airport to take a boat to the resort.

Hulhumale Beach is a long stretch of beach parallel to the island, clean and with clear water. It serves as an appetizer before the main course.

Before heading to the airport, we had lunch. I was impressed by the beef curry from the previous night, and we also ordered lamb biryani. I must say, this was the most delicious biryani I have ever had. It was incredibly fragrant, and just thinking about it makes me hungry. Another dish was sweet and sour chicken stir-fry, which was flavorful and aromatic. We also had fried chicken with curry sauce. The chicken was fried until it was dry and hard, which was a major disappointment. The meal cost 14 US dollars (490 baht).

Roti served with chicken stir-fried with curry powder and potatoes. My boyfriend finished it all, so it was a success.

After a satisfying meal, we continued our journey on a shuttle bus between the airport and Hulhumale city. The fare was 20 rufiyaa, but we paid 4 US dollars for 3 people. The fare was collected at the door of the bus. I regret not taking a picture of the boarding point due to the rush and the rain. (There is a bit of cheating here. At first, my friend asked, "How much if I pay in US dollars?" The collector said, "5 US dollars." My friend then said, "We paid only 4 US dollars on the way here last night." The collector then said, "Oh, okay.")

The moment we arrived, we headed to the resort counter. For all resorts under the Adaraan Club, the counter is located at E2 (on the right side after exiting the airport). After booking the resort, we informed them of our arrival time via email. The resort prepared a boat for us and charged a roundtrip fee of 155++ USD per person (5425++ baht). We might have to wait for other guests if their arrival times were close to ours. In our case, we waited for about 30 minutes. Once everyone arrived, we were off on our adventure!

After that, we sat and stood waiting for the boat to the resort. That's Male, the capital city, in the distance.

The image of the resort's speedboat is borrowed from TripAdvisor.

We have arrived at Adaraan Club Rannalhi. The sky is clear and the sea is just as clear. It is a hotel chain in Sri Lanka, about 70 km from the airport. It takes about 50 minutes by speedboat. The round-trip boat fare is 155++ us.

  • During check-in, there were some minor issues. Two of my friend's debit cards were declined (the reason is unknown, but it was not due to insufficient funds). In the end, my friend's partner had to pay with cash.
  • All prices quoted by the hotel are exclusive of 12% VAT, 10% service charge, and a US$6/person/night environmental tax.

To ensure accurate cost calculations.

A Refreshing Welcome: Iced Lemon Tea and a Cool Towel

A chilled glass of lemon tea and a refreshing cool towel - the perfect antidote to seasickness.

Let's talk about the resort price first. I stayed at Adaraan Club Rannalhi for a total of 3 nights, from October 12-15, 2016. Initially, I planned to stay there and booked only 2 nights, from October 13-15. However, after some consideration, I decided to add about 5,000 baht to get 3 meals a day + drinks, which I thought was good value, so I booked three nights.

The First and Second Nights

The first and second nights, I booked a Standard room with an all-inclusive package (3 meals + unlimited drinks) for 7,500 baht and 6,800 baht, respectively, through booking.com. It took a while to get this price, as the rooms here are usually priced at over 10,000 baht. I must admit that I used a somewhat questionable technique to get the lower price. The simple technique to get a cheap price is:

1. Book a room with a cancellation option.

Promotions are often released in the late afternoon or evening.

3. Regularly check prices. I check Booking almost every other day.

- Price for Standard room on October 12th and 13th.

On the night of the 14th, I booked a Water Villa (All-Inclusive) for 11,700 baht per room. At the time of booking, the resort was offering a discount of almost 50%. Normally, a night's stay at this resort costs around 20,000 baht.

After checking in, it was time to relax in the room. The standard room was in good condition. All rooms at this resort have ocean views.

A ten-step walk will bring you to the beach.

After packing, head out for a cold beer at the bar. Free drinks are available at the bar only. The resort has two bars where you can get drunk from 10 am to midnight. If you can handle it, go for it. The beer is served in a glass and is a Carlsberg brand. Other alcohols include wine, gin, rum, vodka, and so on, but I'll stick with beer. Besides alcohol, there are juices, soft drinks, tea, coffee, and snacks available at the bar all day long. Get ready for a sugar rush!

Enjoying a cold beer while watching the sunset. What a perfect way to end the day!

The bar also offers cocktails, but they cost extra as they are part of the happy hour buy-one-get-one-free promotion. I also appreciated the attentive service from the staff, who brought me beer throughout the evening. Usually, I would have to get my own drinks from the bar.

:: How drunk are you? Look at the picture. ::

Nika Bar at night

It's dinner time! Let's go eat. All-inclusive customers can only eat at the Main restaurant.

The food presentation was excellent. The buffet primarily featured European and Maldivian cuisine, with occasional East Asian dishes. The main ingredients were pork, chicken, beef, and fish. Tuna was served at every meal, every day, suggesting it is locally sourced. I must admit, I grew tired of tuna by the end of my stay.

The steak was well-cooked, but some cuts were tough and chewy.

My boyfriend's favorite food is pork steak. He can eat it every meal without getting tired of it.

The dessert line consists mainly of fruits, cakes, ice cream, puddings, mousses, and crumbles (with fruits alternating daily).

After trying everything, it's just okay. Not quite "wow," but not bad either.

.
.
.
Ending the third day with this plate of sweets. Let me go lie down for a bit.

October 13, 2016

Day 4 I woke up in paradise.

It was a gloomy day when we received the news about our father. Even the sky seemed to be mourning, with dark clouds and storms raging throughout the day. It was as if the heavens were weeping along with us. May his soul rest in peace.

Waking up to a relaxing cup of coffee on the porch, but nowhere to go as a storm rages with strong winds and high waves.

It's time for breakfast (breakfast is served here from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Don't be late! On the last day, I woke up late and packed in front of everyone). As for seating, you will need to sit in the same seat throughout the trip.

I indulged in a heavy breakfast of bacon. The highlight was the cheese-filled omelet. The omelet was cooked in the usual way, with onions and peppers. Just before it was finished, I asked for extra cheese, and I got "Extra Extra." It was a cheesy paradise, and the sight of the melted cheese made my mouth water. Overall, the breakfast was European-style. I had the same menu for three days straight.

Freshly grilled, not dried.

Waffles & pancakes with a variety of sauces and toppings. It's fun to make!

Alongside bread, there are also cereals, yogurt, and fruit juices.

After a satisfying meal, we took a leisurely stroll to aid digestion. The allure of diving was strong, but the powerful wind made us apprehensive about sinking beneath the waves.

Examples of activities that can be paid for additionally include a lobster dinner served at the villa for 55+US/person or a candlelit dinner for 90+US/person.

Water sports are quite diverse, including surfing, windsurfing, jet skiing, canoeing, etc. The prices are, well, let's just say they vary.

As the storm approaches, the rain falls, and all planned activities are put on hold. We sit and gaze at the sea, dreaming of our ideal home. This section is located on the back side of the island and has a small bar that is not frequently visited by people. It is mainly used by guests staying at the Water Villa.

As we were admiring our dream house, we went inside to collect our belongings when a staff member informed us, "You guys need to switch to the Water Bungalow today." Everyone exchanged confused glances before looking at me, suspecting I had made a booking error. It turned out I had indeed booked the overwater bungalow for the last night of our stay. My friend then inquired, "Do we have to move back here for the remaining night?" The answer was, "No, you guys get to stay in the Water Bungalow for two nights." We quickly packed our things as staff members arrived to help us relocate.

Everyone was stunned for 38 seconds, my heart was pounding. A mix of emotions flooded my mind. Then I said, "What are we waiting for? Let's pack our bags before they change their minds!" It was 11:45 PM, and we had 15 minutes to pack. We rushed to get everything done. We were determined to move, no matter what. As a result, the second night, which we had paid 6,900 baht for, turned into a dream come true. We enjoyed the upgrade for another 38 hours. Even after two weeks, we still don't know why we got the upgrade.

Our room is located on the upper floor, with two rooms on each floor. Although there is no direct access to the sea from the stairs, the balcony in front of the room offers a panoramic view of the resort, which I believe is the best spot for viewing the resort.

The Water Villa room I warped to looked similar to the standard room. I booked it for my last night at 11,700 baht. It's probably the cheapest all-inclusive Water Villa you can find on Booking.com.

However, what is different is the view. The view from the bed, looking out at the sea and listening to the sound of the waves, is like a dream come true.

Everything is complete, except for the earplugs. So sad.

A minibar worth around ten thousand baht.

Upon opening the door, one might wonder when the wind will finally subside. However, it is not always true that storms only last 30 minutes in the Maldives, followed by sunshine. Today, the sun has been scarce in the Maldives.

It is a very happy …

After the rain poured all day, it's finally sunny. What good news! When the rain and sun meet, we will see a scene like this.

From the balcony of the room.

After a relaxing afternoon nap, it was time for dinner. While taking a leisurely stroll, I witnessed a marriage proposal. The lucky groom-to-be? None other than myself! 55555555555

My friend took care of everything. The entire event was organized with a bottle of Moet Chandon and a venue fee of 150+US. It was an unforgettable and heartwarming experience. The staff here went above and beyond in every aspect, including my dear friend who surprised me, leaving me speechless and overwhelmed with emotion.

The dinner was the same as usual, so I didn't take any pictures. After dinner, we got drunk. We ordered beer to take away, and they gave us plastic cups. We had to carry the beer from far away, but we didn't mind. The only thing we were worried about was not getting drunk. Since we were staying at a beautiful house, we had to drink on the balcony, of course.

Looking down and seeing this, when the sky clears at midnight, goodbye, storm. May tomorrow be a bright day.

Turning to the right, I was met with this sight.

.
.
.
Day 4 of the trip ends with this picture. I'm going to sleep listening to the sound of the waves now.

October 14, 2016

Day 5: Hello, sunshine!

Good morning with sunshine. This morning, a guest we eagerly awaited knocked on our window. "Hello, Mr. Sun," we exclaimed. Without hesitation, we jumped up to open the door to our room and greet the most beautiful day of our trip. The sun was performing its duties flawlessly, casting its full light onto the surface of the sea. It was a sight we will never forget.

One more time.

Rapidly and continuously.

Let's take a look at the other side of the balcony.

Turn around and go back home.

From a distant perspective.

After finishing lunch, you can rent snorkeling gear and fins for 10+ US dollars per set for a full day (you can return it within 24 hours). If you want to rent only one item, it will cost 7+ US dollars per item. Everything you purchase or use on the island can be charged to your room bill and settled before you leave.

Let's get started!

A school of fish awaits at the stairs.

Sea, sand, sun, sky, and me.

Our home

They secretly went to look at other people's houses, which were also beautiful.

Mostly small fish.

The coral reefs here are not particularly vibrant in color, but the advantage is that they are easily accessible from the house.

- Alone but not lonely -
The girls can dive for half an hour and then lie down in the sun. As for me, I prefer to stay longer, with the fish and the coral. I find it peaceful and quiet, especially when I go to deep water where the water is even cooler. The feeling at that moment is indescribable.

After diving, it was time for lunch. Lunch was similar to dinner, but there were not as many options available.

Salad is available at every meal.

In Thailand, rice crackers (khao kriap pla) and curry are staples at almost every meal. The country's island geography necessitates maximizing the use of all food resources. Leftover fruits from the night before are transformed into fruit salads, while leftover grilled fish is often incorporated into fish curries for breakfast. We are incredibly fortunate to live in a country with such an abundance of food.

Full from lunch, I lugged beer back to my room. How many glasses you want is up to you. All you can carry. The wind was strong, making the carrying a bit of a struggle, but my love for beer was not an obstacle in any way.

Wake, eat, dive, drink, sleep...replete.
Besides that, taking pictures in a loop, island life is so happy.

The Maldives is most beautiful on the 5th day.

Day 6 Time to say goodbye

Bidding farewell to each travel destination has never been easy for me, not even once. And now, as I depart from the Maldives, I must leave behind a life of waking up, eating, diving, drinking, taking photos, and repeating. Alas, I must return to the realm of reality.

The morning sun was as bright as the day before, so I took several pictures before the resort called to ask about our flight and preferred boat time to the airport. I wasn't sure how many options there were, but the resort gave us a choice of 12:30 PM or 4:30 PM. Since our flight was at 8:55 PM, we chose the 4:30 PM option. We had to check out at 12:00 PM, but we didn't have to return our wristbands for the All-Inclusive package, which meant we could still use it until we left.

Take a shower, eat, and hurry to return the frog's feet.

After that, come and collect your belongings. You can leave your luggage in front of your room and a staff member will take it to the lobby for you.
I went to settle the outstanding debt I had incurred during my stay. Then I went to have lunch. For lunch, there was crab, which was my first seafood meal besides fish. So I went all out.

Sitting at the bar, drinking beer, it's time to go home. Feeling sad as usual.

Farewell, Adaraan. Until we meet again. If you're visiting the Maldives, I highly recommend this place. The staff are all lovely, the service is excellent, and the food is delicious. These were the four happiest days of my life.

Upon arrival at the airport, a resort staff member will check your flight details and direct you to the appropriate gate and departure time. I was initially surprised by this level of attention, as the previous arrangements had already been excellent. However, this additional gesture further enhanced my positive impression.

P.S.

- Despite its small size comparable to Chiang Mai, the Maldivian airport experiences heavy air traffic with a large influx of tourists. Notably, AirAsia operates with only two counters, potentially leading to congestion and delays.

Economy Class Passengers and Strict Baggage Weight Policy

This passage describes the challenges faced by economy class passengers due to the strict baggage weight policy enforced by the airline. The author highlights the lengthy check-in process caused by overweight baggage, which can take up to 15 minutes per passenger. This results in significant delays for other passengers waiting in line.

The author recommends passengers to utilize self check-in options and ensure their baggage weight does not exceed the 7 kg limit to avoid delays and additional charges.

  • Long check-in queues, including immigration lines with approximately 4 lanes. Baggage scanning is also available with two lanes.

- It is recommended to arrive at the airport approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes before your flight's departure time.

Due to a 1.30-hour flight delay, we decided to grab a bite at the airport. There were three restaurants in the departure hall: Burger King, The Coffee Club, and a local tea shop. We opted for The Coffee Club as it offered Thai food, which we were craving. However, the prices were even steeper than Thai Express. This Pad Thai, for instance, cost 14 US dollars (over 500 baht). Despite the high price, it was delicious.

Another delicious dish is the stir-fried chicken with cashew nuts, priced at 14 US dollars (500+ baht). The tom yum noodles were decent.

The plane then departed for KL. As I had forgotten to check in beforehand, and assuming that the airline could check me in during the transit within the airport, I was mistaken. I had to go through immigration to check in and re-enter. Fortunately, it was early in the morning, so it didn't take long, and I arrived in Thailand as scheduled. It was a truly exciting ending.

Summary of expenses

Let's round the numbers.

1. Plane ticket 10200 baht

2. KL Hotel, 500 Baht per person.

3. Hulhumale Hotel 700 Baht per person

4. Adaraan Club All-Inclusive Package: 18,000 Baht per person

5. Shipping fee 6000 baht

6. Food and travel expenses per person were 6,000 baht for both Malaysia and the Maldives. We ate a lot and didn't skimp on anything. I didn't keep track of how much we spent, but I brought 12,000 baht and came back with 240 baht left over.

Total: 41,400 Baht.
