I assure you, once you try it, you will not be disappointed. I've said enough, so let's get started.
The starting point is here, at the "Kaset 1 Market". Walk, walk, walk, and you will find the bus route Surat Thani - Phunphin. Just hop on! The fare is very affordable, only 15 baht from the starting point to the final destination!
"Get on the bus, move inside, little sister. Hold on tight, it's a long ride."
"Park the real tube, boss."
"The end of the line, my dear. Please disembark."
Breathe deeply. Inhale, inhale again, fill your lungs. Look left, look right, look front, look back.
Bouncing left, bouncing right, bouncing front, bouncing back... Wait a minute, what are you playing?
Is this "Tha Kham Port Town"? At this point, I must say that it is a truly clean city. The air is good, and there is a bit of a classic feel. Oh my, I feel like a princess lost in time.
" How clean is it? Ask your heart. "
The weather is beautiful.
Our first destination... Surat Thani Railway Station.
We are almost there! Let's hurry up and enjoy the view. We still have to walk a bit more. Walk, walk, walk.
As a journalist translator, I can help you with that. Here is the translation:
Walking up to the bridge, the view from above is breathtaking. The scenery is truly magnificent.
Magnificent and dazzling, let's take a quick look downstairs...
Check-in point...
"Waiting for someone who doesn't care is like waiting for a train at a bus stop."
This angle is also good.
"There are many tracks for the train, but if I have you by my side, my heart will never waver."
Let's go on a trip. If you're going, hurry up and go...
We have arrived at the "Chulalongkorn Bridge".
Let's all arrive together.
However, this bridge has an interesting history.
The Chulalongkorn Bridge, also known as the Surat Thani Bridge, is a crucial bridge on the Southern Line. It spans the Tapi River in Surat Thani Province and consists of three steel spans with a total length of 200 meters. Opened to traffic on February 16, 1953, it initially served as a bridge for both trains and automobiles. However, after the construction of a new automobile bridge, it became solely a railway bridge. In 1941, Japanese troops landed in Surat Thani, establishing a military base at the foot of the bridge over the Tapi River. This strategic location served as a staging point for transporting troops to Malaya, Burma, and Singapore. In 1943, Allied forces attempted to destroy the bridge twice using B-24 bombers loaded with explosives. The first attempt failed, but the second attempt succeeded in using chains to link explosives together and drop them onto the bridge, causing it to collapse into the Tapi River. Additionally, houses in the Tha Kham market were destroyed by bombs. After the war, the government hired CORMANLONG CO.LTD from England to repair the bridge. The design was changed from a curved steel structure to a rectangular one, similar to the Rama VI Bridge. Divided into three sections, it includes a railway track, a pedestrian walkway, and a central lane for traffic. The repair and construction took approximately six years to complete. His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej bestowed the name "Chulalongkorn Bridge" on April 26, 1953, and the official opening ceremony was held on February 16, 1953.
...truly extraordinary...
Come up here! Come up to the middle of this bridge. This location is great. Let's take a picture!
Wow! This is incredibly refreshing! The air is so pure!
"In the water, there are fish, but in my eyes, there is only you."
Excellent! Extremely comfortable.
Descending, the atmosphere was fantastic. We were pleased and took many photos.
Waiting for the sunset, turning back to take this angle is also excellent, beautiful, chic, chill, but don't forget to call the motorcycle taxi to pick you up, otherwise you won't have a car to go back. You have to call the motorcycle taxi before 7 pm.
No, I haven't stopped yet. I called a motorbike taxi, and I need him to take me to the evening market in Muang Tha Kham.
We have arrived at the "Talat Yen Muang Tha Kham" (Tha Kham Evening Market).
Upon arrival, walk around. Walk in circles, walk again. But walking alone is not enough. Eat, eat without stopping. Walk without complaining.
Upon entering, I was greeted by a kind and beautiful vendor with a sweet smile. I couldn't resist asking for a quick photo.
And then… we found it. Chicken, chicken, chicken. Chicken intestines, chicken meat, chicken skin, chicken breast. It reveals the pobs in you.
Eating chicken alone is not enough. You must also order a mortar of papaya salad.
That's not enough. Let's continue with oyster omelet, the secret sauce is a must-try. It's so delicious, you'll be amazed.
Not yet, not yet, not yet. The peak is the clay pot-roasted chicken. I can eat the whole thing, no problem.
Topped with fluffy bread, generous cream, and overflowing jam, this treat is sure to satisfy your cravings, regardless of the consequences!
The food selection is vast and tempting, offering both savory and sweet options, as well as fresh fruits. Every dish is delicious and exceptional, making it difficult to resist the urge to purchase everything and take it home.
After purchasing food, I decided to enjoy a leisurely meal at the beautiful pavilion in the public park. The pavilion is conveniently located near the market entrance.
Give me a moment to digest. After eating, I need to digest. The sign says that after eating, I need to digest. I can't eat and then sleep! I need to walk, run, or do some intense exercise to digest. After I finish digesting, I'm hungry again. I'll walk around and buy more food to eat.
