The saying "the higher you climb, the colder it gets" doesn't necessarily apply to love. You don't have to aim for the highest peak to find warmth and connection.
The weather in the lower northern region, such as Tak province, is already fantastic.
Departed for Tak Province from November 24th to 27th, 2016.
Bangkok > Tak > Umphang > Mae Sot #BrutalRoute
The journey took exactly 20 hours, arriving in Umphang District at 8:00 AM.
#Getting off the car almost vomited #Having to fight with 1219 curves
First Day
We stayed at Sors. (abbreviation) for 3 days and 2 nights. The accommodation had a beautiful view (no pictures of fish). However, the water in the bathroom flowed like a child's pee. The water used to clean the body in every room had to be shared. Whoever showered first would get strong water pressure, like swimming in a luxurious pool. I never got to experience that luxury. #SoMuchResentment. On top of that, I stepped on fresh shit on my way to the accommodation. It was so fresh, it had just come out of the asshole. I knew it. It was bright yellow and beautiful. #WTF 555 After checking in, the first activity of the day was white water rafting to see the Ti Lo Su waterfall.
The sound of a loud siren.
#First day and already getting into trouble #Oh no #Oh no #What's going on 555
We took a car from our accommodation to the starting point of the rafting trip, where we spent two hours floating down the river. During the journey, we encountered various highlights, including Pha Phol and a hot spring (where we stopped for a quick dip, although it's not worth spending too much time here). The surrounding area was filled with numerous stalactites and stalagmites.
Among the many attractions, the Rainbow Waterfall stands out as a particular favorite. The cascading water creates a mesmerizing spray, against which a vibrant rainbow forms, leaving us in awe.
As we were paddling closer, many boats were trying to get the perfect angle for a beautiful shot. We were busy taking photos, and when we turned around, boom! The boatman fell into the water. #Nooooooooo! There were many tourist boats parked at that spot, and the boats were bumping and crashing into each other. #Not cool, haha. The weather today was perfect, 20 degrees. We sailed along, and by the time we reached the disembarkation point, we were almost asleep.
The only way to get to Ti Lo Su Waterfall is by car. However, it is not recommended to bring your own car. Even if you bring it, you will not be allowed to drive it up. You have to rely on the local people's cars. They will provide rental services and take you to the top. The road is very bumpy and rough. It feels like your body is attached to a spring, and your head is shaking all the time. You will be bouncing up and down, hitting your back against the iron bars, and swaying back and forth. Your face will be covered in dust. You will be wondering if you will survive. By the time you arrive, you will be covered in dust and sweat. 555 #End of the road review
*It is true that the ascent to the Loso viewpoint changes with the seasons. If you come during the hot or cold season, there will be a car to take you up. But if you come during the rainy season, you will have to walk up. #Pray #Bye #It's best not to go during the rainy season #Please 555
After getting off the car, we had to walk for about 1 kilometer. The guide said it was about 1 kilometer walk. #I'm so tired #Or maybe it's because I'm fat #lol But the tiredness disappeared instantly because the waterfall was soooo beautiful.
Tilosu is considered the most beautiful waterfall in the country. It is truly beautiful, very beautiful. I am so happy that I have had the opportunity to see the beauty of this waterfall. One bow, two bows, three bows!!! #Must come #Worth the trip #Love it <3 <3 <3
The return trip from the waterfall turned into a grueling trek through the jungle. I thought I was going to faint! The boat ride was fast, but the return journey was incredibly long. We had no choice but to take a car back, and there was no faster way. #PrayAndCry #TooDifficult #PleasureTurnedIntoChallenge
Day Two ##
The next morning, we woke up and he took us to a temple. It was a beautiful temple with intricately carved teak pillars. I didn't take many pictures, though. I wasn't sure why we were there. We went to the temple to pray and make merit, and then we went sightseeing.
The next place we will travel to is "Pa La Ta Waterfall". The car left the temple and met the paved road, so I felt relieved. I drove for a while and turned into a dirt road. Uh oh...!
Cut to yesterday's scene. #Lovely road, smooth driving, hit a pothole, gotta go for it, go all the way. #Respect TT
The journey to Pahlata Waterfall isn't as long as the one to Tee Lor Su. It takes about 15 minutes by car. Pahlata Waterfall is perfect for swimming and soaking, but unfortunately, we didn't bring any clothes to change into. #Fail. I didn't know it would be this kind of waterfall. The water is very cold, but refreshing. #NotSwimmingJustTakingPhotos #Hahaha
We spent half a day here, which allowed us to get to know each other better. We had already spoken to some of the other people on the trip from the first day. We enjoyed meeting a variety of people, including new travel companions. There was a retired teacher who was traveling the world with her husband, an uncle and aunt who had been traveling with us from Bangkok, a male engineer who lived in Bang Na, a doctor who was surveying the area for a friend who was going to be stationed at the local health center, a high school student who wanted to be a flight attendant, and the two friendly owners of the accommodation.
Today, around 5 pm, it started raining heavily. We were supposed to visit the walking street market, but due to the weather, there were no vendors. When we left our accommodation, the rain wasn't too bad, but as soon as we arrived at the market, it became torrential. I felt like the rain was personally targeting me. (-.-") We decided to walk around anyway. A friendly uncle asked the van driver, "How much time do we have to walk around?" The driver replied, "You can walk around for as long as you want!" I couldn't believe it. He then added, "Don't worry, you'll be back in less than 2 minutes." He was right. The market was quite small, so there wasn't much to see. However, I appreciate the local government's efforts to support the community by creating this walking street market. They aim to attract tourists and provide them with evening entertainment, while also generating income for local residents and boosting the economy. It's a great initiative. However, I would like to request that they also improve the access road to the Lo Su Waterfall. Please! We ended up shopping at 7-Eleven. #TheEnd
Day Three ##
Today, I set my alarm for 4 am to watch the sea of mist at "Doi Huamod". Yesterday, I asked the guide, "Do you see the sea of mist all the time during this period?" The guide said, "Yes, all the time." But today, I was very disappointed because it rained this morning. 555
The mountain, Doi Huat Mot, is not very high, unlike Phu Kradueng, Mon Jong, or Mon Jaem. The climb is not too difficult, as the path is not steep. The name "Doi Huat Mot" comes from the fact that when you stand at the viewpoint, you see mostly mountains without many trees, some of them completely bare. That's why we call this place "Doi Huat Mot," which means "bald mountain." #woohoo #timeforknowledge 555
Honestly, it's not that beautiful, but the weather today is amazing. I want to sit here for a long time, soaking up this feeling and taking it back to Bangkok with me. But I think I've been here too long, just taking photos. When I turned around, all my travel companions had disappeared. The crowd that was here earlier has thinned out. I guess I really did slow life down for too long. 555 #sorryguys
At first, I thought I would wait for the sunrise to see the beautiful orange light, but it seems like it won't happen anymore. #It's okay to go back, I'm a little disappointed. We have to return to our accommodation before noon and then travel to the Hmong market in Mae Sot before heading back to Bangkok. - - - - - - - - - - End of trip - - - - - - - - - -
This is my first time visiting Tak Province, and I am very impressed.
The scenery here is beautiful because it is surrounded by low hills on both sides. The morning air is cool and comfortable, but it gets hot during the day. The most impressive thing is the Thi Lo Su Waterfall. I highly recommend everyone to visit it. I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
*** If you are looking for travel recommendations, I am happy to help! I can provide advice to everyone. ***
A summary of this failed trip (Unvarnished version)
1. The road from Tak to Mae Hong Son is challenging, with sharp turns every few seconds.
2. The accommodation was not very good. The water didn't flow very well. For us, the bathroom is more important than the bed. Otherwise, why would they call it a place of relief? #I would like to see some improvements.
3. The road to Lo Su Waterfall is in terrible condition. We saw traces of a road, but it seems to have collapsed.
The waterfall is amazing, but the road is in bad condition, making it difficult for tourists to visit. The number of visitors has decreased recently, even on the day we went. I hope the authorities in the province and the park will help to improve the situation.
4. The tour program states that there will be a waterfall activity behind the resort on the evening of the second day. However, it is important to note that this activity is not recommended due to the strong water currents and potential safety hazards. It is not appropriate to include this activity in the program. #Disappointing #6/10
5. Our guide seemed a bit confused. We felt that he didn't talk much. As a guide, you need to be able to provide information and motivate or control the tour group. But it's okay, he may be young and still needs to gain a lot of experience. Keep fighting, we're rooting for you! ^^
