Hello, with the arrival of the cool breeze, the journey to Doi Pui Ko has begun once again. Every year, I always have a trip to take pictures and admire the sea of mist with my friends. Since I live in the northern region, Chiang Mai province, it is very easy to travel to Lamphun, Chiang Rai, and Phayao. It only takes a few hours by car. For this trip, we made an appointment with a group of friends to find new places to try, and I also wanted to try out the new camera that I just bought a few weeks ago. Our destination was Doi Pui Ko in Mae Hong Son province. Since there have been some reviews lately, it looked interesting. The place has been renovated to be more beautiful and convenient for travel. The accommodation is camping and cooking over a fire, which is perfect for camping enthusiasts. There is no electricity, but there are bathrooms and water available. It's a natural paradise. If you want to relax, you should try visiting.

Our journey began in San Pa Tong district, traveling along the Chiang Mai-Hot road until reaching the Hot district roundabout. We turned right towards Mae Sariang. I have been frequenting this route lately as it provides access to Mae Sariang, Omkoi, and Mae Hong Son. Along the way, we stopped by the Bo Kaew Pine Forest, which offers stunning views, especially during the blooming season of the Dok Bua Tong wildflowers.

Continuing on, we reached the Mae Sariang intersection, where we turned left towards Sop Moei. After passing through Mae Sariang, we stopped for a refreshing cup of coffee at a popular local cafe to recharge our batteries.

Coffee and bingsu, sweet and cold, refreshed my body and I'm ready to continue my journey.

Continue driving along the road to Sop Moei until you reach the junction to go up to the Umdah Nua village. If you don't have your own pickup truck, you will have to park and find a taxi to take you there.

Porter carries goods up the mountain, round trip 400 baht per person.

Drive from the village for a short distance to reach the parking lot. From there, it is an 840-meter walk.

The path is designed with steps to make it easier to walk.

The first viewpoint has a pavilion for resting. Halfway there, 480 meters to go.

Let's move on, or we won't make it before sunset.

Our porters are very strong.

We have arrived!

Unfortunately, the cloudy sky prevented us from witnessing the sunset.

It was then time to set up our tents. As it was a Saturday when we arrived, there were a fair number of tourists around, but we were able to find a comfortable spot to set up camp without too much difficulty. The porters helped us gather firewood and build a campfire, after which we started preparing our dinner. Those who had gas stoves that used small canisters found them to be very convenient.

The phone signal is strong up here, 3G but not 4G. Ais and True have full signal. After a delicious meal, I watched the stars, listened to music, and played the guitar with the people dancing next to me. It was a great time with a country atmosphere that city people would love. Unfortunately, the day I went up there was foggy and windy, so I couldn't take any pictures of the stars. The humidity was high, and my camera lens kept fogging up, so I had to keep it in my bag all the time. Good night.

English:

Good morning, wake up and come see the sunrise and the sea of fog together. The sound of the little dog barking in surprise as many people come out to take pictures.

From this point on, the trail becomes uneven, making it more suitable for taking photos than hiking. The sunrise occurs at 6:00 AM, and the sea of mist is visible until 8:30 AM. After 9:00 AM, the mist gradually dissipates. Popular photo spots include the pavilion, the lone tree (possibly an olive tree), and the grassy slope where Mr. Thong took his photos. Be cautious on the grassy slope, as the morning dew can make it slippery.
