The Journey Begins: A Weekend Getaway to Mae Hong Son

My adventure began with a casual scroll through a travel page. A comment caught my eye, leading me to the "Chic Chill Trip" page. Intrigued by their budget-friendly and exciting itineraries, I started browsing their upcoming trips. The "Tung Bua Tong" trip instantly resonated with me – the timing was perfect, and Mae Hong Son had been on my travel bucket list for a while. After a quick inquiry and confirmation, I secured my spot with a 1,000 baht deposit. The remaining balance of 2,900 baht (or 3,200 baht if the group size was less than 10) was due 7 days before the trip.

The excitement began the moment I met my fellow travelers – 10 strangers, 1 staff member, and 1 driver, all crammed into a van. Our journey started on Friday, November 23rd, 2018, at 8:00 PM, and we were scheduled to return to Bangkok by 1:00 AM on Sunday, November 25th, 2018.

Our accommodation was at the Baan Paka Kayor Homestay in Doi Mae U Kho. During the trip, we visited various destinations, including:

  • Ob Luang National Park: Immersed in the beauty of this natural wonder.
  • Bo Kaew Pine Forest: Strolled through the serene pine forest.
  • Tung Bua Tong: Witnessed the breathtaking fields of blooming sunflowers.
  • Mae Surin Waterfall: Refreshed ourselves with the cascading waters of the waterfall.
  • Phu Chi Fa: Took in the panoramic views from this stunning viewpoint.

For meals, we relied on convenience stores during travel and enjoyed home-cooked meals at the homestay. In the evening, we indulged in a delicious "moo kata" (Thai BBQ) feast at the top of Doi Mae U Kho.

Unfortunately, due to limited time, we couldn't stop for souvenirs. However, I highly recommend checking out the Chic Chill Trip page for future travel inspiration: https://web.facebook.com/chicchilltrip/

This trip was a testament to the joy of travel and the importance of stepping outside our comfort zones. It reminded me that life is more than just work and home – it's about exploring, connecting with new people, and creating unforgettable memories.

Special thanks to my amazing travel companions and the Chic Chill Trip team for making this weekend getaway truly unforgettable!

The Pine Garden at Bo Kaew is so beautiful that you'll be left speechless amidst the mist.

A heavenly scene, a true dreamlike image.

Bask in the beauty of the Tung Bua Tong fields.

It took quite a climb to reach the sign. ^^

The entire mountain is ablaze with yellow.

Exquisitely captivating.

Waking up at 4 am to see the sea of fog was worth it. Even though my legs were about to give out from the climb, I can say that it was worth every step.

It was truly worth the effort.
