Koh Kood
"Koh Kood"
An eastern island that many people may have visited frequently for leisure, as have we. This trip to Koh Kood is not our first time on the island. We have been here many times before, captivated by its crystal-clear waters, lush nature, and peaceful tranquility. It's no wonder why this island makes everyone want to spend a relaxing vacation here.
This trip, we have the latest accommodation on the island, Koh Kood Paradise Beach Resort, to recommend to our friends. The resort has only been open for a short time. What does the resort look like? How beautiful is the view? Let's take a look.
Our journey began with a morning drive from our home in Bangkok. After a four-hour drive, we arrived at Laem Sok Pier, where we waited for the ferry to Koh Kood. We traveled on a ferry operated by Koh Kood Express, which cost 700 baht per person for a round trip. The ferry ride took approximately one hour.
The boat is large and can accommodate many people.
The boat was comfortably air-conditioned, ensuring a cool and pleasant journey. Before departure, crew members checked that all passengers were wearing life jackets, which were required to be worn throughout the one-hour trip. The boat set sail at 1 pm, and the cool air soon lulled me into a peaceful slumber.
Around 2 pm, we arrived at Ao Salad Pier, where a resort vehicle was waiting to pick us up. The drive from the pier to the resort took about 10 minutes.
The atmosphere in front of the accommodation was great. Luckily, it didn't rain on the day we went, and the sun was shining brightly.
The lobby area features stylish chairs for relaxation, while the front desk was not captured in our photos as staff were busy decorating with ribbons for the New Year. Our visit took place in late December, just before the New Year celebrations.
The walls are adorned with adorable line drawings.
After checking in, we explored the resort. The front faces the beach and has a swimming pool.
The swimming pool here includes chairs that are a bright orange, contrasting with the blue of the seawater and the green of the trees.
Relaxing by the sea is the perfect way to unwind. Lean back on a canvas chair, feel the sea breeze, and enjoy a refreshing drink.
The vibrant colors of the swimming pool here are a sight to behold, creating a striking contrast with the azure hues of the ocean in photographs.
From a bird's-eye view, the vibrant orange hue of the pool is particularly striking.
The waters surrounding Koh Kood boast a stunning array of colors, particularly during periods of intense sunshine. The hues range from vibrant greens to blues to deep navy, creating a mesmerizing spectacle.
Let's take a look at the accommodation section. In this picture, there are 4 beachfront rooms.
This section is located next to a row of beachfront rooms. There are a total of 5 rooms, each of which is a private villa.
The room we stayed in had a 6-foot bed and a small sofa in the corner for relaxing.
The room we stayed in was not a beachfront room, but it was located about three rows back from the beachfront rooms, offering a distant view of the sea.
The room amenities and the cleanliness of the bedsheets were satisfactory, as the hotel is relatively new.
The bathroom is spacious, and the shower has excellent water pressure.
The shower gel will have a herbal scent.
The room has a balcony for relaxing, but it can be quite sunny during the day. It's best to enjoy the balcony in the evening when the sun is less intense.
After taking photos around the resort, we started to feel hungry, so we ordered some food to fill our stomachs before heading to the waterfall.
This dish is Pad Thai. This is the dish we ordered. It tastes good.
A side dish of Chinese broccoli with crispy pork for the person next to me. ^^
Yum assorted, the taste is acceptable.
The fried mushrooms were delicious, even just a small bite.
This dish was ordered by my companions, and while I did not personally try it, it appeared to be delicious as they finished every last bite.
After we had our fill, we continued on to Khlong Chao Waterfall.
To reach the waterfall, we arranged for our accommodation to provide transportation. From the drop-off point, it's a half-kilometer walk to the falls. Park rangers are stationed at the entrance to assist and provide guidance. Life jackets are available for non-swimmers or weak swimmers.
Along the path to the waterfall, it is noticeable that there are mostly foreign tourists compared to Thai people.
It only takes a short walk to reach the waterfall.
The water level was relatively high during our visit, although not at its peak. During the rainy season, the water level rises significantly, making it even more enjoyable for swimming and water activities. However, even with the current water level, it was still refreshing to take a dip and cool off.
After returning from the waterfall, we continued to take photos and play on the beach in front of our accommodation.
The water here is truly crystal clear. Just looking at it makes me want to jump in right now.
At the beach, there is also a massage service. Lying down for a massage by the sea, looking at the sea and the sky, while getting a massage must be quite relaxing. Judging from the massage beds that are never empty, you have to book a queue for a massage.
I stealthily took a picture of a dog sleeping soundly on the beach. When I was about to take the picture, it seemed to sense me and glanced at me briefly before falling back asleep.
Kayaking is also available.
In the late afternoon, children gather at the end of the bridge to fish and play in the water.
Favorite swing corner
Our favorite time of day is sunset. It's beautiful and very romantic.
The sunsets here are just as beautiful as anywhere else, and we think they're one of the highlights of the resort.
The post-sunset light was equally beautiful, and we were fortunate that the skies were clear during our trip, allowing us to capture many stunning images.
After taking photos and playing in the water, it was time for dinner.
This extensive menu is perfect for sharing among a large group. However, the standout dish of the meal, and our personal favorite, was the steamed blue crab. While the crabs weren't exceptionally large, their meat was incredibly sweet and fresh. The natural sweetness was so pronounced that we enjoyed them plain, without dipping sauce.
After a satisfying dinner, we took a few photos in front of our accommodation before retiring for the night.
The first night ended with a view of the stars in the sky.
The breakfast buffet line at this resort was not yet fully operational when we visited, as the resort had only recently opened. However, the food provided by the resort could be replenished upon request.
This is a sample breakfast menu offered by the accommodation. Guests can choose from a variety of options, including an American breakfast set.
Fried egg on a hot plate
Shrimp congee
Homemade banana cake at Koh Kood Paradise, delicious!
Before leaving, I decided to take a picture of another type of accommodation located at the front of the resort. It is a two-story building prepared to accommodate guests or hold seminars.
Here is a glimpse of the room's interior.
This trip was very impressive. I hope to have the opportunity to come back and stay again.
This concludes our review of the accommodation. We hope this will help those of you who are interested in visiting Koh Kood and are looking for a place to stay.
