Before traveling, what is the announcement from the Meteorological Department that the monsoon will enter the southern region during January 17-21, 2017?

What to watch out for during a flood .......... What are small boats should avoid leaving the shore

This trip began with booking round-trip tickets from Bangkok to Hat Yai for 633 baht each (0 baht promo price) on Air Asia.
The booking was made around March 2016, with travel dates from January 17-21, 2017 (yes, it was a year later).
The flight schedule was as follows: arrival at the airport on the 17th at 11:50 AM (this time is not ideal as it will not allow for a visit to Koh Khai).
The return flight was at 12:25 PM (allowing for some morning shopping time at Kim Yong Market).

As mentioned earlier, during our visit, the monsoon was hitting the southern region, which has never happened in previous years.
The sky and sea at Lipe should be crystal clear and incredibly beautiful, especially during the high season.
However, this year, it was unexpectedly... Will it be beautiful or not? Please watch and see.

Note: Apologies if there are too many photos.

Note: Live images from the camera without any adjustments.

Our itinerary is as follows:

1. Purchased a package with Prasan World Tour (found on Facebook) / 3,390 per person

- Andaman Resort, 2 nights with 2 breakfasts included .... (The beachfront view is amazing, much better than the mountain view in our opinion, but the rooms are just okay.)

- Airport shuttle van .... Convenient, the driver waited for me at the door and drove politely. The van was brand new.

- Speedboat round trip Pak Bara - Lipe ..... Outbound on Baramee boat, return on Bandaya boat

2. Rent a long-tail boat with Lipe Ferry (found on Facebook) / 2,300 for 6 people (outer zone + inner zone all day as you wish and only my group)

  • A beautiful, well-maintained boat, large in size, with a friendly driver. The name "Summer" is inscribed on the side of the boat.

3. Booked accommodation for the 3rd night in Koh Lipe at Mali Resort for 5,747.00 Baht for 3 people (Extra)

- The most stunning view in Pattaya Beach, with lush green grass contrasting against the azure ocean. Simply breathtaking!

- Breakfast is plentiful.

- Beautiful Balinese-style accommodation

Upon arrival at the pier, the World staff member, Nong I, greeted us at the van and escorted us to check-in. They provided us with vouchers to present to Andaman and to the speedboat on our return trip. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive.

We boarded the speedboat around 3:30 PM, unfortunately missing the opportunity to stop at Koh Kai.
The journey from Pak Bara Pier to Koh Lipe takes approximately one and a half hours. Enjoy the scenic sea views as you travel.
To avoid seasickness, it's recommended to look out into the distance or take a nap. Avoid using your phone or reading books.

A speedboat brought us to Pattaya Beach, right in front of the Banyan Tree Resort. However, we had to take a taxi (motorcycle with a sidecar) to the Andaman Resort, as it is located on a different beach. The taxi fare was 50 baht per person.

Upon arrival, we presented our voucher to the resort staff, who then escorted us to our room. We had booked a View Point room, which was situated on a hill with a stunning ocean view. The evening breeze was delightful, but be prepared for a bit of a climb to reach the room.

After putting away our bags and freshening up, we rushed down to Mountain Resort to catch the sunset. However, the weather wasn't cooperating, so we couldn't see the sun at all. After enjoying the view, we waited for dinner at Andaman. The view was amazing, and we had a great time. However, we couldn't stay up late chatting because we had a 9 am appointment with a long-tail boat for a tour around the island the next morning.

Good morning! I'm so excited because it's a beautiful sunny day today!

The beach is absolutely stunning! It's so beautiful, I can't stop taking pictures.

The long-tail boat will pick us up at 9:00 AM. Please be on time.
Please bring your own food and drinks, as there are no shops on the islands (except for White Sand Beach).

The first stop of today's island tour was Hin Ngam Island. The rocks sparkled in the sunlight, creating a breathtaking spectacle. Words cannot describe the beauty of this place. It is a must-see for anyone visiting the area. Along the way, we encountered a group of divers. The exact location of this spot remains unclear, but it may be near the Jabang Channel.

Point 2. Koh Rok Loy (farthest)

White sand, beautiful sea, and clear sky.

Point 3. Hin Sorn Island
The day we went, the wind was very strong. The boat was rocking so much that it made our hearts skip a beat. It was so scary that we had to ask the driver to turn the boat around.
But he said it was okay, not dangerous, we could go... So we just smiled nervously.

This point is less than 5 minutes away. Oh, it's scary!

Point 4. Lunch break at Ao Taloh Paelian
It's a nice place to chill, with one park ranger's house.

Point 5: Shallow water play area, coral viewing, Nemo fish viewing, Ao Bo Dong Bay (I couldn't hear clearly, but it's not far from the lunch break area).

I will pause here and continue later.

Continuing on, this bay is absolutely stunning. I can't help but express my awe with repeated exclamations. The beauty is truly breathtaking.

After diving and swimming with Nemo, we continued our journey.

Enjoying the scenery along the way...

Our final stop for the day is Point 6, White Sand Beach on Adang-Rawa Island.

We sat and chatted while enjoying snacks for a while before hurrying back, as we felt that it was about to rain.
Fortunately, it started raining right after we finished our outing.
Thank you for the good fortune, thank you for the prayers, thank you for letting us meet.
"Hali Peh"

We skipped the last two islands due to fatigue and the approaching rain.

We arrived at the resort around 5 pm. As soon as we arrived, we showered, changed our clothes, and went down to have dinner at the resort.
We had ordered our food from the restaurant the night before. We requested 2 kg of fresh steamed blue crab and half a kg of squid with eggs. We also ordered other dishes.

The restaurant offers a set menu for seafood at 550 baht per person, which includes 4-5 dishes. Alternatively, you can order individual dishes from the regular menu, with prices starting at 350 baht for 2-3 dishes. We ordered food for 6 people and spent around 500 baht per person. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was great. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves until midnight. However, the kitchen is slow, so it is important to order your food in advance if you want to eat early.

Good morning, January 19, 2017.
Today we are in no hurry, we will chill out. Later we will check out from Andamana Resort and then we will continue to Mali Resort.
But before we go, let's take in the atmosphere for a bit.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

After this photo, it rained heavily. But only for a short while, around 11 am it stopped. We called Mali Resort to pick us up. Let's cut to the scene at Mali Resort.

We arrived at Mali Resort around 11:20 AM. Fortunately, a room was available, so we were able to check in immediately.

Pack your bags and freshen up. In the afternoon, we'll head out for lunch. Take a short walk along the beach, then turn left at the beachfront. It's the same beach where the boat dropped us off on the first day. Today, we'll walk to Bundahaya Resort for lunch. It's a leisurely walk, and we'll pass the entrance to the walking street. We'll come back later this evening for some shopping.

Full and ready to digest, let's head to the night market for an evening stroll.

After a good night's sleep, we went for a walk on the walking street near our accommodation.
It was a weekday, so there weren't many people, but there were still a lot of shops open.
There was a lot of food to choose from, and Raksae Lee was the most crowded.

We stopped for a drink at this resort before reaching our accommodation.

January 20, 2017. Good morning from the last day in Koh Lipe.
I woke up early to take some pictures and check the weather.
If it rains, it will be bad because the waves will be strong and we will probably get seasick on the speedboat back.
I'm a little scared, but we have a boat scheduled to leave at 1:00 PM. We will then take a van at 3:30 PM to the Wang Noi Hotel in Hat Yai.

After capturing the morning ambiance, we showered, packed our bags, enjoyed breakfast, and prepared to check out at 11:00 AM.

After waiting for the 13:00 speedboat, we'd like to share a rapid-fire series of photos showcasing the resort and the surrounding island scenery. We'll be posting a lot of photos to demonstrate how truly worthwhile a visit here is. As for the resort itself, it's as stunning as expected. If you're a fan of the Balinese style, this is the place for you. It's incredible!

Although our boat departs at 1:00 PM, we should check in beforehand to secure our boarding queue and reserve seats.
The boat company confirmed our reservation earlier and advised us to check in around 12:45 PM.
The resort will provide staff to assist with our luggage, which is a thoughtful gesture.

The boat departed on time. On the return trip, we were on a boat from the Dandahaya company. I must say, it was incredibly fast! The reason for the speed was likely due to the approaching storm. The sky was already starting to darken when we were about to leave. The captain told us that the waves were very strong during yesterday's rain, and it was quite frightening. So today, he sped up the boat, even faster than Fast & Furious 8. We are grateful that he brought us back on time. Otherwise, we would have definitely encountered the storm in the middle of the sea.

This is Koh Kai. We passed by on the way back. It's a pity that we didn't stop by Koh Kai on this trip.

As expected, it started raining as soon as we arrived in Satun, and it rained heavily when we entered Hat Yai.
That day, it took about 2 and a half hours to travel from Pak Bara. We took the van at 3:30 PM.
We arrived at Wang Noi Hotel around 6 PM (the accommodation fee was 300 baht per person for a room for 3 people. It was cheap and good, I confirm!!).
We took a shower and got ready to go out for dinner.
At first, we were going to go to the nearby night market, but we couldn't because it was raining heavily and we didn't have an umbrella.
We happened to see an uncle's motorcycle taxi parked in front of the hotel, so he asked us where we were going.
We told him we were going to eat dim sum, so he said he would take us there for 30 baht each.
So we agreed.

When visiting Hat Yai, indulging in the local delicacy of "Makut Te" is a must. Missing out on this dish would be akin to not experiencing the essence of the city.

Followed by hot tea and fried buns from Ko Auan's shop.

January 21, 2017, it's time to return to my regular office life. Today, we flew at 12:25 p.m. In the morning, we had some time to go shopping at the Kim Yong Market. Getting to the market is easy. Just walk out of the hotel and turn left. Walk straight for one traffic light, and you'll see it. As for transportation, we hired the same uncle's car as last night. It cost 60 baht per person, and he dropped us off at the airport at 11:00 a.m. (By the way, it takes about 20-30 minutes to get from Hat Yai to the airport.)

Farewell to this trip, thank you for watching until the end.
