This journey began when we obtained a booklet for collecting stamps from various national parks. As we accumulated more stamps, the excitement grew.
Analogous to playing through levels in a video game during our childhood, the more we enjoy ourselves, the more we explore the park.
The more we travel, the more we realize how vast the world is. It seems like there's always more to explore, no matter how much we've seen.
Our notebooks still have many empty pages that have not been filled. So let's not wait any longer to embark on our journey.
Are you ready to pack your bags and join us on a national park stamp hunt? If so, let's start collecting together! :)
Kanchanaburi: A 3-Day, 2-Night Adventure
1. Giant Rain Tree > 2. Trai Yok Yai Waterfall, Trai Yok National Park > 3. Pha Tad Waterfall, Srinakarin Dam National Park > 4. Fort Pi, Khao Laem National Park > 5. Mon Bridge, Sangkhla Buri > 6. Khao San Nok Wua, Khao Laem National Park > 7. Nang Kruan Waterfall, Lam Khlong Ngu National Park
Our group departed from Bangkok around 5:30 AM. (I wonder if I could ever wake up this early for work! 555+)
The first destination we set on our GPS was the giant rain tree, which we reached around 8:00 AM in the city center of Kanchanaburi.
The grandeur of this tree is truly awe-inspiring, even in photographs. Its sheer size is overwhelming, making it difficult to capture its entirety in a single shot. From every angle, it presents a breathtaking spectacle.
A sign describing the history and size of the giant rain tree: Why is it so giant and massive?
A wide-angle view of a giant rain tree.
Zoom in, zoom in... It's even more beautiful up close.
Light transmission model, almost artistic work.
Our time with the giant rain tree was brief, as we had many more places to visit that day. Let's continue our exploration! ...
Our next stop is the 'Trai Yok Yai Waterfall in Trai Yok National Park'. However, since we are visiting the waterfall during the late
In December, expectations of seeing a dazzling array of sparkling water, as imagined, may need to be lowered slightly.
While the water level may not be high, the area retains its beauty and remains uncrowded. The atmosphere is peaceful and serene.
Ideal for family picnics, gatherings with friends, or romantic outings. Highly recommended!
A waterfall of moderate size, its beauty perfectly captivating.
A closer look reveals even more juiciness.
Traiyok Yai Waterfall from a different perspective.
Crystal clear water flows, revealing the green algae.
Cross the bridge, and there will be a restaurant on the other side where you can eat.
The atmosphere of the restaurants on both sides
We finally got our first stamp from the Sai Yok National Park! The stamp includes the date and the signature of a park official.
We have passed two places. Don't get tired yet, because we still have many more places to go.
Let's embark on this journey together...
The next stop is another waterfall, not far away, called 'Pha Tad Waterfall in Srinakarin National Park'.
The waterfall here... the writer can't help but wonder if someone close by turned it off as a surprise (just daydreaming again).
The atmosphere is very peaceful. You can hear the sound of the waterfall from the parking lot. The air here is cool and comfortable.
The low water level offers a unique perspective, revealing the intricate details of the water's flow with remarkable clarity. This captivating sight leaves a lasting impression.
Not close enough, right? Then zoom in even closer, let's get your lungs refreshed to the max!
And then... we collected another park stamp! Today we got 2 stamps, done! Are you starting to have fun with us yet?
Let's continue our journey without delay. Tonight, we will camp at 'Fort Pi; Khao Laem National Park'.
To prepare for the early morning climb to Khao San Nok Wua the next day...
The atmosphere at Fort Pi is beautiful and pleasant, comparable to any other location. At this moment, it is truly delightful.
Kanchanaburi is stunning everywhere you go. It's truly a must-visit destination.
After setting up our tents and securing our campsite, we wasted no time in heading to the **Sangkhla Buri Mon Bridge** to witness the breathtaking sunset.
The full name of this place is "Uttthamanusorn Memorial Wooden Bridge".
The atmosphere on the bridge
Children will be applying face paint. If you are interested, you can contact them directly. They will use pre-prepared wood grain patterns.
Adorable.
Looking down from above, try spreading your hands and taking deep breaths. Do you feel more relaxed?
Feeling weary from work? Why not leave it all behind at the Mon Bridge and start afresh? It's never too late for a new beginning.
The side of the bridge offers a different perspective, with its own unique atmosphere.
Enjoy a romantic getaway with your loved one.
The sun has already set as I strolled leisurely, oblivious to the passage of time.
Let's head back to our accommodation at Fort Pi. As for tonight, it's been a packed trip, but we don't feel tired at all, do we?
Wherever I go, I feel completely relaxed. For tonight, sweet dreams and good night. :)
The sound of birds chirping and roosters crowing signals that it's time to wake up and continue our journey.
Waking up late and missing the sunrise is not an option. After showering, brushing your teeth, and completing your morning routine, it's time to start your day.
On the second day, we will test the strength and endurance of our leg muscles as we hike up to 'Khao San Nok Wua'.
9 kilometers (more details will be provided in the next post, please stay tuned!)
Here are some stunning photos from the top of Khao Nok Wua to whet your appetite.
I have collected the third stamp from 'Khao Laem National Park'.
We spent one night on the ridge of the mountain. On the morning of the third day, we descended the mountain to prepare for our return journey.
Our final stop before returning, descending from the ridge of the cow, we stopped to wash ourselves at the ' Nang Kruan Waterfall, Lam Khlong Ngu National Park'.
Our primary objective is to stop by and wash up, admire the lush waterfall, stamp our national park passport, and then continue our journey.
Accessing the park requires driving approximately 22 kilometers from the main road on a paved road.
Be prepared for a challenging 3-kilometer journey before reaching the park.
The road is a compacted gravel road, so there will be a lot of loose stones.
Upon reaching the park's toll booth, continue driving for approximately 1 kilometer to pass through a lush bamboo forest archway.
After parking the car, we had to walk another 700 meters (again). We've already walked 18 kilometers, so let's just walk a little more.
Just 700 meters more, it won't be anything. Just a little bit. :)
The walking paths are a mixed bag, with some good stretches and some not-so-good ones. (It's important to note that even the "bad" sections aren't terribly bad.)
As you continue walking, you will encounter the first level of the waterfall, Tharanangror. Upon seeing the first level, you cannot help but wonder how beautiful the second and third levels must be, given the stunning beauty of the first level.
To get from the first floor to the second floor, you need to cross a shallow, cool stream to reach the other side.
Walk a little further on land and we will reach the 2nd floor - Nong Nang Baan Na
The sight of this waterfall left me speechless, my eyes wide with wonder. A soft "wow" escaped my lips.
I wished I could freeze time at this moment, never to return. The gentle spray of water on my face was pure bliss, a reward for life's journey.
From the second floor to the third floor, we walked on and had to cross the waterfall to the other side again. It was like going back in time and being a child again. We crossed back and forth, having a lot of fun. The water was so cold!
Level 3 - Sa-Ong Nang Waterfall: This level features the highest and most powerful waterfall, but it is still safe for swimming.
Be cautious of cramps due to the cold water.
During our recent trip to Kanchanaburi, we collected a total of 4 national park stamps. Stay tuned for our next travelogue!
Let's pack our bags and go on another national park stamp collecting adventure together soon...
Thanks again for being a great travel companion. :)
Thank you,
