:: 4-Day, 3-Night Adventure ::

Embark on a journey to the southern seas of Thailand, exploring three captivating provinces.

Each province serves as a gateway to the next, leading you on an unforgettable adventure.

Our journey begins in Khao Lak, Phang Nga Province.

Next, we head to the heart of our trip, spending a night on a floating raft at Ratchaprapha Dam (Cheow Lan Dam), the "Guilin of Thailand," in Surat Thani Province.

Finally, we conclude our adventure in Ao Nang, Nopparat Thara Beach, Krabi Province.

DAY 01 | START ... Don Mueang International Airport (DMK)

  • Our journey begins at Don Mueang International Airport, embarking on a flight to Krabi International Airport.
  • Traveling during the middle of the year, our group consisted of 10 individuals, with one additional member joining us at our destination. In total, we were a group of 11.
  • Departing at 4:10 PM, our flight arrived at 5:30 PM, allowing us to spend the evening in Khao Lak, Phang Nga Province.

  • Upon arrival, we waited for the rental car (a pickup truck for the entire trip, which we had booked two weeks prior). The wait for the car was excruciatingly long, making us wonder if we had been scammed.
  • My friends looked exhausted and impatient, resembling Burmese migrant workers who had missed their ride. (Just kidding!)

  • Heading to Khao Lak, Phang Nga Province. The journey from Krabi to Khao Lak was very pleasant, with cool air and a late arrival at the accommodation.
  • On this trip, in addition to hanging out, we also had a hangover. When we got to the accommodation and got out of the car, we weren't sure if we were carsick or drunk. 5555

"Alcohol can cause disability and death" and "Alcohol can cause quarrels and crime."

  • For this trip, we stayed at Lemongrass Guesthouse &Cafe'. The service was excellent. It's a small guesthouse with very friendly owners who offer motorbike rentals. The beach is just a 200-meter walk from the guesthouse, and there's a 7-Eleven conveniently located at the entrance of the alley.

  • We arrived quite late, so we all went to sleep to wake up early the next day to travel to the floating raft at Ratchaprapha Dam (Chiao Lan Dam), the Guilin of Thailand, Surat Thani Province.

DAY 2: Embark on a Journey to "Rachaprapha Dam (Chiao Lan Dam), the Guilin of Thailand, Surat Thani Province"

  • Depart early in the morning at 8:30 AM to avoid the scorching heat and intense sunlight. Prepare provisions and beverages before embarking on the adventure.

  • The lucky passengers were seated in the back of a pickup truck. My hair was impossible to style, but the air was cool and the wind was strong.

The scenic route offers breathtaking views, making it an ideal spot for roadside photography. The location where we captured these images is situated along the entrance road to Khao Sok National Park.

** **

Before reaching the pier, keep an eye out for a large sign that reads "Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand - Ratchaprapha Dam" (beware of driving past it, we missed the entrance ourselves!).

The view from the top of Ratchaprapha Dam is breathtaking.

Ratchaprapha Dam, originally known as Cheow Lan Dam, is the second multi-purpose dam in southern Thailand, located in Surat Thani province. After its completion, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great graciously bestowed a new name upon it: "Ratchaprapha," which means "Light of the Kingdom."

  • We arrived at the Ratchaprapa Dam at approximately 11:00 AM, after a journey that included getting lost and stopping for photos, which took about 2.5 hours.
  • This is the pier where we boarded the boat to the floating raft where we had booked our accommodation. We stayed at "Pha Phuang Waree Raft".
  • Upon arrival, we paid for our accommodation and boat fees. The raft will send a boat to pick us up at the designated time.
    Before boarding the boat:
    >> Prepare your belongings, including medication, essential items, drinks, and snacks, as there are no 7-Eleven stores or shops available.
    >> Inform your family, friends, or workplace, as there will be no 2G, 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi signal once you arrive.
  • 100% Social Network Free
  • Most importantly, if you are not a strong swimmer or cannot swim, a life jacket is essential. Please wear it for your safety.

  • Embarking from the pier at approximately 11:30 AM, we arrived at our destination, "Pa Phu Wa Ri" floating raft, around 12:30 PM. The total travel time to the raft was approximately 1 hour.

"Paa Phu Wari" Room Details

**>>** Each room can accommodate 2-4 people, and the accommodation will provide bedding, pillows, and blankets according to the number of guests.

>> The floating house provides 24-hour electricity, a TV, and an en-suite bathroom in each room. A walkway connects each room, located at the back of the houseboat.

  • Upon arrival, we helped carry our belongings, food, and drinks to our assigned rooms. Then, we relaxed and enjoyed ourselves.
  • This trip was all about relaxation and good food. The accommodation offered privacy, allowing us to enjoy drinks in our room without disturbing other guests.

Important notes: The water is fresh and approximately 30 meters deep. Life jackets are mandatory at all times. Please maintain cleanliness and refrain from littering in the water. "Please keep noise levels down." Please consume food and beverages responsibly.

**Private balcony in front of the room, you can bring drinks to drink in front of the accommodation.**

Each room at the accommodation has a kayak available for use. Guests are welcome to paddle the kayaks, but please ask the staff for permission before taking them out.

Attempting to be a "starfish"

  • After paddling and playing in the water until they were exhausted, they ate, drank, and had a lot of fun. Even though they were tired from playing in the water, they had a lot of fun. And then time passed quickly, another day passed quickly.

DAY 3: Farewell, Guilin of Thailand

  • We stayed at the floating house for one night. The house offered a sunrise tour in the morning, but due to an unexpected event, we were unable to participate. Before leaving the house, the staff prepared breakfast for us.

We would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Phu Pha Waree Floating House for their warm hospitality and excellent service.

We will definitely visit again if we have the opportunity.

As we prepared to depart from the raft, our boat driver took us to photograph the "Three Companions," a trio of limestone karst formations rising from the water. These twin peaks, also known as "He Sam Kler," served as a picturesque backdrop for our farewell.

Once we reached the shore, we prepared to leave the dam. Our next stop was to rest and continue our trip to Khao Lak, Phang Nga.
