Hello.

A Glimpse into Winter Wonderland: Exploring Korea's Snowy Charm

This marks our first foray into the captivating world of Korea, a land blanketed in a pristine winter wonderland. Embracing the frigid temperatures, we embarked on a journey to witness the mesmerizing snowfall, catch a glimpse of the iconic "oppa," and savor the delectable kimchi, all amidst the sub-zero climate.

While the biting cold posed a significant challenge, the breathtaking scenery compensated for it tenfold. The trees, adorned with a delicate layer of frost, stood tall against the backdrop of a crystal-clear sky, creating a picturesque landscape. The vibrant hues of the winter flowers added a touch of vibrancy to the otherwise monochromatic surroundings.

Through these captivating images, we invite you to experience the unique charm of Korea during the winter season. For those who have already visited, this might offer a fresh perspective on the country's beauty. And for those yet to embark on this adventure, we wholeheartedly recommend a winter trip to Korea. The promise of an unforgettable experience filled with stunning visuals and delightful discoveries awaits you.

Let's get started. On our way to our first destination.

DDP: Our first stop is here in the Dongdaemun district. Let's take a look at Zaha Hadid's building.

I like the path that we can choose to walk in any direction, without any dead ends.

Minimalist

The interior was decorated for Christmas when we visited, and the staff were dressed in festive attire. It was adorable.

The grass outside is a beautiful color.

Indulge in a delightful tea break at O'SULLOC TEA HOUSE, a haven for green tea enthusiasts.

Indulge in sweet and juicy strawberries before heading to the dazzling light show.

Back to DDP again, let's stop by to see the lights.

Red Rose: This fireworks display is located right next to the DDP. It is illuminated at night, creating a beautiful spectacle.

Let's take a closer look.

Next,...

Changdeokgung Palace: Located adjacent to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace was our next destination. Our primary objective was to visit the Secret Garden and Huwon Garden. However, upon arrival, we discovered that Huwon Garden was closed for renovations, much to our disappointment.

The front of the palace has a map, which is very stylish.

Let's go inside! The sky is beautiful, the palace is stunning, it's like being in a series! Haha

Trees and grass in the palace

A section of Changdeokgung Palace

This section is inside the Secret Garden. We really like the trees here, they have a good form and are beautiful.

Continuing on, we saw a pool of water that had frozen over due to the cold.

A peculiar white tree.

Although the red leaves are mostly gone, there are still some remaining, making it feel like we're experiencing two seasons at once.

Feel free to take as many photos as you like here.

The weather is very cold. I stopped by for a quick coffee. It was a bit too sweet, but the warmth definitely helped warm me up.

We'll continue later. Walking out of the palace, this is the popular spot. There are so many people.

I like this angle.

Samcheongdong-gil: This street, unexpectedly accessible from Changdeokgung Palace, boasts a charming atmosphere with aesthetically pleasing stores and a plethora of culinary delights lining both sides.

Strolling and shopping, I initially planned to stay in this area for a short while, but ended up staying until the evening.

Feeling hungry, stopped by for a bite to eat. This place is delicious!

There are many good-looking shops.

Chic shops

Let's keep walking until we reach the end of the street, and then we'll head to our next destination.

MMCA: This museum is located at the end of Samcheongdong-gil Street, within walking distance from the district.

The interior features a vast collection of prints and films.

Photography is permitted here. This room is dedicated to football.

Myeongdong: After leaving the museum, we were hungry, so we went shopping in Myeongdong. Be prepared to spend a lot of money here; you will undoubtedly go broke. Shopping for cosmetics here is fantastic.
Shop and eat at your leisure.
Nami Island: Today, we'll venture outside the city and visit Nami Island.

Instead of taking the ferry to Nami Island, we'll ride the Zip Wire.

The way to get there is shown in the picture. We will be taking this to get there. We are excited!

The decision to go was made very quickly. When we saw the real thing, we wondered if we would survive. It was -5 degrees that day, very cold.
Note: There are two types of zip wire rides. The first type is a ride to Nami Island, with an average speed of 40 km/h and a distance of about 1 km.
The other type is an adventure ride, which does not go to the island but is designed for thrills. The speed is 80 km/h, but the distance is shorter, about 500 m.

We have arrived at Nami Island! It's freezing cold, but it's been an amazing experience. This has been the highlight of our trip so far. They even offer a photography service while we're riding, but it costs an additional 15,000 won.

After our adventure, we went for a walk on the island.

The most popular angles are the most crowded. When we went, it was full of tour groups. If you want to go when there are fewer people, we recommend going early in the morning. But we couldn't wake up. It was a snail trip, lol.

Very good.

Trees on the island

I love trees; they are beautiful.

A photo of a friend on a trip, this angle is beautiful.

One more picture.

Let's move on.

Another corner of Nami Island is freezing cold.

Colorful leaves

Secretly taking photos of an oppa

After exploring the entire island, we returned to the city by ferry. On the way back, we saw people playing zip wire above us.

Making a pit stop for a banana milk before heading back, all the way from Nami.

It was already dark when we arrived in the city. In winter, it gets dark much earlier than usual.

Continuing on to Cheonggyecheon Stream: As mentioned, we visited during Christmas, when the stream was adorned with charming festive lights.

I really like the atmosphere lately, everyone seems happy.

Another angle.

Driven by hunger pangs and a craving for fried chicken, I embarked on a quest to find the perfect eatery. Kyochon, a renowned chicken franchise, presented itself as a tempting option. While the chain boasts outlets in Thailand, I found the offerings here to be superior in terms of flavor. My indulgence continued until I reached a state of blissful satiety.

Haneul Park: This park seems to be a popular spot for Thai people right now. The top of the park has fluffy reeds that are perfect for taking pictures. However, we liked the bottom of the park even more. We got lost trying to find the way up to the park, so we just kept walking. This was the best part!

This is a local path where people often come to exercise. I took a lot of photos here.

The snow that fell yesterday created a beautiful color palette.

Walking, walking, walking, all the way up to the garden. We could have taken a car, but we didn't know, so we walked. Haha. We climbed hills, stairs, and walked, walked, walked. It was a bit far, but the atmosphere around us made us forget all about being tired.

Let's walk up a bit. We can already see the view below.

The advantage of not knowing and walking up is that we get to see and experience many things that are not often seen in reviews.

I have reached the top. It's the coldest day today, -9 degrees.

Wildflowers are the cutest.

This is a must-visit spot. I tried to take photos from inside, but it was too cold and my hands were numb. I couldn't press the shutter button.

Adorable, isn't it? If you go after the New Year, you might want to check if they've cut the wildflowers yet, because they were starting to cut them when we went.

Ewha University: After admiring the natural scenery, we entered the university.

Dry leaves, good color.

The classic building is surrounded by dry trees, which makes it even more beautiful.

This is a popular angle. When we went there, it was around 3 pm. The sun looked strong, but it wasn't warm at all. It was cold.

Another perspective.

I like the light and shadow in this picture.

Near the university, there is also a Line Friends store. Brown Bear is dressed for Christmas, so cute! However, there is no Line Cafe here.

Let's stop for shaved ice before we head back. It's freezing, but I really want some. We can take as many photos as we want, the ice won't melt.

Leeum Samsung Museum of Art: On our last day, we visited this museum, which houses both permanent and rotating exhibitions. However, we highly recommend the rotating exhibitions.

This is the rotating exhibition section.

The interior space is truly remarkable. Photography is prohibited, with the exception of mobile phone use in designated areas.

This is the rotating exhibition section. It's amazing! I spent a long time here, but it felt like a short while.

Take a continuous series of photos.

The exterior is also beautiful.

We walked to the train station to go to Line Cafe. We also saw a pig.

Garosugil: This district was my main destination. I really wanted to visit the Line cafe, haha. It's so incredibly cute! Just being there, my wallet felt lighter without me realizing it.

The interior of the shop is adorable in every corner.

Highly recommended. Perfect for taking photos and enjoying delicious food.

Defeated by Sally, the inside is orange juice.

The child is adorable.

Gangnam: After visiting the Brown Bear shop in the Garosu-gil district, we continued our walk to Gangnam. This area is known for its luxury and wealth. Our next destination was to go shopping.

The building has a chic and stylish vibe, especially with the Christmas lights currently on display, creating a happy and festive atmosphere.

Sulwasoo Flagship Store: We've arrived! We're at Sulwasoo, which we saw on Pinterest and thought it was so beautiful that we had to come. The store is located in Gangnam, and you can walk from Line Cafe, although it's a bit of a distance (we walked, enjoying the shops and the city along the way).

I had to buy it back.

The shop is very beautiful, every corner is beautiful, there is also a rooftop. But we came at night, it was so dark. If anyone stops by, try going up and looking at the top. But be careful not to lose money like us.

Exquisitely beautiful, with meticulous attention to detail in every corner.

Another perspective

External walkway

After spending some money, we continued walking towards Hong-an. Along the way, there were beautiful buildings with lights in front of the shops.

Beautiful, I like it.
Hongdae: This area is the best place to stay because it has everything from food to shopping. If you come to Korea, I recommend this area.

Let's have a barbecue! Haha, let's go with grilled pork belly. Just looking at it makes my stomach growl. Ooooooh.

Thank you all for following us!
