PHI PHI SUNRISE TRIP: A One-Day Adventure to Paradise

Many have experienced the allure of Phi Phi Island, with diverse travel options ranging from ferries to speedboats offered by various tour operators. This narrative delves into a unique one-day program, the "PHI PHI SUNRISE TRIP," allowing visitors to explore the island's beauty without an overnight stay.

Is there anything else I can help you with?

However, if I had to choose between waking up early to experience the serene atmosphere of Maya Bay or waking up late to find the beach crowded with tourists, I would choose to wake up early at least once in my life.

Before the trip, I had read some details about it, even though I had never seen the pictures. However, I had been to Phi Phi Island many times before, so I understood what the place was like and why Thai people "hate" Phi Phi Island. The reason is not because Phi Phi Island is not beautiful, but because its beauty attracts so many foreign tourists that they are almost stepping on each other's toes in Maya Bay, which is only a few hundred meters long.

Therefore, I decided to travel and "open" my eyes as early as 5 am to prepare myself and arrive at the pier before 6 am.

The Royal Phuket Marina is a luxury yacht marina located not far from Phuket Town.

The drowsiness has vanished, thanks to the cool, refreshing morning air and the beautiful, orange-hued light that is about to arrive.

At approximately 6:30 - 6:45 AM, the boat reached the middle of the Andaman Sea and stopped, allowing us to witness the first light of day.

The sea is slightly choppy in the morning, but the large three-engine boats can navigate it comfortably.

(We understand that sitting in the back of the boat will provide a smoother ride and allow for capturing panoramic views.)

Finally, the eyes began to lose to the light and slowly closed.

The sound of the guide's voice gently roused the travelers from their slumber as he announced their arrival near Phi Phi Island. Their first destination: Maya Bay.

This idyllic cove, immortalized in the film "The Beach" starring Leonardo DiCaprio, has become a dream destination for international travelers seeking a slice of paradise.

As dawn broke, the boat glided into Maya Bay, bathed in the soft glow of the morning sun. The air was crisp and fresh, carrying the scent of the sea and the gentle murmur of waves lapping against the shore.

Although the sunlight has not yet reached Maya Bay through the mountains, the seawater is visibly clearer and calmer than on previous trips.

The boat slowly sailed through the entrance to Maya Bay, as eyelids gradually lifted.

Maya Bay, once teeming with boats, now stands serene with only a handful in sight. Despite countless visits, the smiles on the passengers' faces widen with each passing moment.

Enjoying the tranquility, we couldn't resist capturing a memorable photo at Maya Bay, devoid of the usual tourist crowds.

Since we're already here, the atmosphere is so relaxing. No need to rush, no need to compete, and it's not hot either. Let's just chill for 10 minutes.

Travelers who wish to capture stunning photographs of Maya Bay can now do so without any restrictions.

Across the bay from Maya Bay is Loh Samah Bay, a scenic viewpoint. I think it's quite beautiful. (However, I've been here before, so I'm not as excited. I'd rather take more pictures of Maya Bay.)

Returning from Ao Lo Sama Bay via the back route, the sun began to blaze brightly ... and the number of tourists also started to increase.

We still have 20 minutes to relax and enjoy a leisurely stroll or a refreshing swim.

Finally, I took a leap of faith and indulged in the vast expanse of Ao Maya.

Departing from Maya Bay, the sunlight began to shimmer on the water's surface, reflecting off the stern of the boat as it sped towards its next destination.

The Shifting Sands of Phi Phi's Dive Sites: Exploring Koh Pida

While each dive around Phi Phi Island offers a unique experience, the location can vary. Sometimes, divers explore the vibrant coral reefs of Loh Samah Bay, while other trips venture to the shores of Bamboo Island. This time, our boat took us to the underwater wonders of Koh Pida.

Beneath the sea, it is teeming with life. My friend who went diving exclaimed that there were countless fish.

While the other tourists were swimming in the sea, I sat at the stern of the boat, dangling my legs in the water and enjoying the peace and quiet. It was a nice way to relax after a long day of sightseeing.

After getting soaked in the sea, our next stop was:

"Pi Le Lagoon"

The boat slowly sailed into the crevice of the mountain… We had been here before, but could only watch because the boats were so crowded that we couldn't get in the water without risking being sliced by a propeller. Haha!

Navigate to a vast emerald bay where customers can enjoy swimming... At this time, there are only a few tourist boats, similar to what we encountered at Maya Bay.

The vastness of Pileh Lagoon allows for carefree swimming.

The interior features shallow water with a white sandy bottom.

This area is therefore a popular swimming spot for friends.

On the other side, the deep water at the bow of the boat has become a fun jumping-off point for tourists.

"Hmm... We think it's quite fun... No wonder foreigners love to jump into the water so much. Haha!"

The Viking Cave is a stop for boats to visit before we have lunch at a private beach on Phi Phi Island. (At this point, the guide explained about bird's nests... but I'm already familiar with swiftlet nests... so I'm more interested in what we're going to eat later.)

This secluded beach boasts a private dining spot, seemingly the only establishment perched upon its shores.

The food portions are generous, but the flavors may not be as strong as Thai people prefer. #Bring on the fish sauce and chilies!

This establishment boasts comfortable seating for post-meal relaxation, along with exceptionally clean restrooms (personally verified, but not in a photographic sense!).

Full stomach, drooping eyelids... let me close my eyes for a bit.

Closing my eyes for a moment, I didn't want to waste time. Because when the sun came out, the seawater in front of the restaurant was incredibly clear.

Show me the clear seawater.

The final destination:

"Bamboo Island"

Bamboo Island boasts expansive sandy shores.

With the vast expanse of sand and sky as our backdrop, we can strike any pose and it will surely be stunning.

The crystal-clear waters surrounding Koh Phai today are a sight to behold, whether it's due to the time of day or the day itself.

Instead of sitting on the hot sand, it's better to dive into the water and float in the sea for the rest of the day, right?

After enjoying a refreshing swim in the sea, we departed the island around 2 pm and arrived back at the pier around 3 pm. This provided ample time to relax in the hotel's pool or bathtub before dinner.
