Phang Nga is not just about the sea. You can also explore the forest. Here in Takua Pa, an old but charming town, the Khlong Sang Nae community tourism will take you on a boat ride to see snakes.
The text describes a place where visitors can observe snakes in their natural habitat. The area is rich in banyan trees, which grow along the banks of a canal, providing an ideal habitat for various snake species, including green snakes, golden tree snakes, pythons, and boa constrictors. Additionally, with a bit of luck, visitors may also encounter families of hornbills.
If you are ready, let's go to the pier and wait for the boat.
The boat that will take us to see the snakes is a canoe. It can accommodate two people plus one boatman (if you are large, you can sit alone). The cost is 500 baht per boat.
For those who prefer a less adventurous experience, a leisurely stroll along the designated walkway through the forest is also available.
The boat is ready, let's go.
The initial stage is characterized by a forest of nipa palms (if I recall correctly). I am not very familiar with trees, so I focused on using my camera to search for snakes.
The highlight of this trip was the magnificent banyan tree, its massive branches spanning both sides of the canal, forming a "Century-Old Banyan Forest" (judging by the size of its branches, it must be at least a century old).
Alternating with forests where the leaves almost curve towards each other.
The first one I met was a green snake. Haha!
While several other snakes were encountered, capturing them on camera proved challenging. This was not due to the snakes' agility, but rather the limitations of the small camera in low-light conditions. Therefore, the larger cameras were used for capturing footage.
Found the star of the show, the golden banded snake? Haha!
Large cameras are used for observing snakes and birds, while small cameras are used for observing the people who come along. Haha.
Another highlight of Little Amazon Takuapa is the banyan tree tunnel. Every time I visit, I have to take a picture of this spot (and every time it looks different).
The forest is vast and magnificent, the mountains are breathtakingly beautiful. Every visit reveals a new and unique perspective, captivating the heart of nature lovers.
