Hello everyone, nice to meet you all.

This is my first review. I apologize for any mistakes.

This trip was meticulously planned over the course of a year.

Longing to witness the sea of mist, gazing at the stars, and shining lights into the sky.

(That's what I thought before I went) We were originally supposed to meet up with 6 people.

The number of people has been reduced to four. Let's go and book the tickets.

The period of the trip was from January 14-16, 2017.

Let's start with booking bus tickets. We booked with Somphot Tour.

Booked a bus from Bangkok to Thung Chang (M1c) on Friday, January 13, 2017, at 7:00 PM.

We are planning to visit the Poa Fresh Market, as our accommodation is located there. We are so excited to go on a trip!

As soon as the car started moving, I fell asleep. What else could I do? Sleeping to recharge is the best thing to do! 55555

The tour bus brought us to the Pua fresh market around 5:30 AM. (We had arranged for a pick-up at 7 AM, so we had to wait a while.)

It was pitch black, the only light coming from the market. At this early hour, where could we possibly go? We walked around the market looking for a place to sit, but to no avail. It truly lived up to its name as a "fresh market," with nothing but vegetables and butcher stalls. There was nowhere to sit. (Our first thought was to sit across the street in front of the 7-Eleven, which was well-lit, but that was just a fleeting thought.) We walked around the market in circles, taking turns going to the bathroom to kill time. In the end, we decided to just stand and wait in front of the bathroom.

We had breakfast at the Pua market, where there were very few seats. At 7 am, the songthaew that we had hired picked us up and took us on a tour. We loaded everything onto the car and off we went! If you are interested, you can contact the driver at the number below. (The driver's name is Duangdeuan.)

Our first stop was at Baan Tai Lue Coffee, a rustic coffee shop nestled amidst rice fields. The morning air was still crisp, and mist hung over the fields, creating a serene and picturesque atmosphere.

Let's head up the mountain! Our next stop is Doi Phu Kha National Park. The atmosphere along the way, while riding in a shared taxi, is simply amazing. From the scorching sun in Pua town, the moment we ascend the mountain, we have to grab the jackets we just threw away. It's freezing! Doi Phu Kha National Park is 1,715 meters above sea level. To be honest, we didn't actually enter the park. We just went to the viewpoint and the nearby camping ground. Let me tell you a little secret: it's a popular spot for taking photos, so be prepared to compete with others for the perfect shot. When we arrived, there was a group of over 30 big bikers.

Let's move on. The Chompoo Phuka tree hasn't bloomed yet, which is a bit disappointing. We're heading to Bo Kluea district now. I wonder what's so special about it that people talk about it so much. On the way, it's getting colder and colder, just like the song says. Before we go see the salt, we stopped to eat at a restaurant called "Head of the Bridge." The atmosphere is nice, the food is delicious, and there's a stream right next to the restaurant. I love it!

Once we were full, we continued our journey. A few steps later, we arrived at Bo Kluea District, a place where salt is the main industry. Everywhere we looked, people were selling salt. Our destination was the largest salt field in the country, the only one remaining. It's a laborious process to obtain salt. The salt must be lifted from the pond and dried before it can be packaged.

After watching the salt-making process, we were so impressed that we each bought 2-3 bags of salt. There were various types of salt available, including body scrubs, spa salts, and foot soaks, in a variety of colors. We decided to take a ride down the mountain in a shared taxi, which was the most enjoyable way to see the sights of Nan. The weather was perfect, and we had a clear view of the scenery along the way. Our next stop was Wat Phukhao, which may seem strange considering we were in Nan. "Phu" means "large" in the northern dialect, and this temple boasts stunning views. The vast rice fields below are likely the origin of the temple's name. (Insider tip: If you want to take beautiful photos, come in the afternoon, as the morning light is not ideal for photography.)

Exhausted and nearly collapsing, it was time to check into our accommodation. But wait, before we did, we made a quick stop at the market to grab some dinner. Even though we had already ordered a Khantoke set, (to be honest, I was worried I wouldn't be able to eat it all, haha) I couldn't resist trying the market's recommended dish: "Aeb Moo." It's similar to the familiar "Hor Mok," but with a unique and delicious flavor all its own. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures because we devoured it all before I could even think about taking one.

Our first night's accommodation, Tanong Homestay, is a real local homestay. Just the entrance was bumpy, still a dirt road. But once we got there, I wanted to say it was heaven on earth. The lush green fields were so easy on the eyes.

The sun is setting, casting a peaceful silence over the rice fields, an atmosphere rarely experienced by city dwellers.

This is our room for tonight. It can accommodate 4 people and costs 1,400 baht per night. Extra guests can be added for 200 baht per person. We think it's good value for the price, and it even has bunk beds, which is a rare find.

I'm starving! It's time for dinner. This is what the KHANTOKE looks like, but let me tell you, it takes a lot of patience to eat KHANTOKE. Because the cook is a grandmother who will cook and serve slowly. Because this place is a family, like a family business. If you come here, be patient. Anyway, you'll get to eat, just a little slower. Hehe..

It's time to rest and recharge for tomorrow's adventures. There are still many places to explore, and I already want to stay longer after just the first day.

Waking up to the crisp, fresh air that fills your lungs, with mist blanketing the entire area, is an experience that is simply exhilarating. Even if you don't want to wake up, the sight of the mist floating right in front of you is too tempting to resist.

Awaiting the first light of day with a rumbling stomach, the wait is worth it. Let the pictures speak for themselves. Time to eat!

This morning's breakfast was a light rice porridge, but you can refill it as much as you want. One bowl is enough to fill you up. Plus, a hot Ovaltine. What a great way to start the morning.

I want to stay here. I don't want to go anywhere anymore. Goodbye, Tanong Homestay. Let's continue our journey.

Heading up to Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park. We have two young women who need a ride back to town.

The terrain was challenging, with a bumpy gravel surface. Despite this, the young woman persevered, cycling with remarkable strength and determination. Her dedication to her homestay experience, even for a single night, was truly impressive.

The journey included forcing our younger sibling to travel with us (haha). That's because before reaching Doi Pha Hom Pok, it's incredibly far.

The Nan Riverside Art Gallery is a place that impressed us. It was incredibly hot outside, like a raging fire, but inside it was cool without any air conditioning. Being there, we felt a bit artistic. Let's move on and pay our respects at the temple for good luck.

The Whispering Love of Pu Man and Ya Man at Wat Phumin

This passage describes the famous "Whispering Love" mural at Wat Phumin in Nan Province, Thailand. The mural depicts Pu Man and Ya Man, a legendary couple known for their unwavering love.

The text emphasizes the importance of seeing the original mural at Wat Phumin, even though copies can be found throughout the city. This highlights the significance of experiencing the artwork in its authentic context.

Let's post a group photo. This temple is located on the way into the city, but it's on an inner road, not the main road where the tour buses run.

(I think so) and it is also a temple located in the city of Nan. If you have time, you can also try to visit the city. But for this trip, let's find nature first.

We have finally arrived at Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park, also known as Doi Pha Hom Pok (888 meters above sea level). Let's take a picture with the sign as proof of our arrival. This mountain is renowned for its romantic atmosphere. I wonder how romantic it will be tonight. (It will probably be sweet, even though I'm here with friends. Haha!)

We booked a tent at the park because we wanted to experience the authentic atmosphere of sleeping in a tent on the mountain. It's for 3 people, and I don't remember the price. You can try to find more information. Here's a tip: if you're sleeping with 2 people, I recommend booking a tent for 3 people so you have more space for your belongings.

Tonight's activity is having a Korean BBQ on the mountain. The cold weather and the hot BBQ, just thinking about it makes me feel good.

Despite the convenience of having a hotpot delivery service on the mountain, complete with a pot, stove, charcoal, fuel, vegetables, pork, and broth, our group faced an unexpected challenge: we lacked fire to start the stove. This oversight caused inconvenience not only for ourselves but also for the helpful staff who assisted us in getting the fire going. (It's worth mentioning that the staff here are incredibly friendly.)

Another activity tonight was shining lights into the sky. Let's not talk about it. Just look at the picture and see if there are any lights in the sky. 555

Let's go stargazing for a romantic night. The stars are abundant and beautiful, and the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. This is a truly romantic mountain, and we recommend coming as a couple. You'll have an amazing time.

The morning has arrived, and you are still in bed. Quietly alone, you don't want to wake up and meet anyone. Wake up, if you don't wake up, stay home, why come out to travel? The misty sea is floating in front of you. Wake up and see it quickly. I've been waiting for the sunrise since five o'clock in the morning because I'm afraid there will be a lot of people. I won't have a picture of the sea of fog, so I have to sit and wait to fall asleep.

We never regret our own choices, even though it may require some patience. But what we get is always worth it. Feel it with your heart if you see it from the picture, but it's better to touch it with your own eyes.

This is my last day in this small town. I don't want to leave. Can I stay longer?

We hurriedly changed our clothes and packed our belongings to descend from the mountain early in the morning. Shower? Don't even ask. None of us showered because we had already showered at midnight in anticipation. The reason for our haste? We desperately needed to charge our batteries. We descended to eat breakfast in the town of Na Noi, telling the driver, "Please take us to a restaurant with a place to charge our batteries." Hence, our breakfast. We ate heavily, aiming to prolong our meal as much as possible to maximize our charging time.

The food at this restaurant is quite good. We charged our batteries and got our equipment ready, then continued our journey. We didn't stop to rest at all during the trip. Our next stop was Khun Sathan National Park, which has stunning views and a pleasant climate. We're planning to stay there next time. Even though we arrived after 10:00 AM, the weather was still cool.

The most regrettable aspect of this trip was that the Queen's Crape Myrtle trees at Khun Sathan National Park had not yet bloomed. I had eagerly hiked up the mountain in the hope of seeing the pink blossoms, but to my disappointment, they were still in bud. Why do trees do this to us? (I know, I'm being overly dramatic. Sorry!)

We were planning to pick strawberries, but the driver suggested visiting a strawberry and grape farm instead. We were eager to explore, so we agreed to go. Unfortunately, we arrived too late, and most of the strawberries had already been picked. We were a bit disappointed, but we still enjoyed the experience.

Descending from the mountain and entering the city, we prepared to return home. No one wanted to leave. Everyone has probably felt this way when the fun is about to end. But wait, let's stop by the temple before we go. At Wat Thamnawa, the atmosphere is good. It's very quiet (the driver took us there). I personally like this temple. I think it's beautiful. And the last temple is Wat Phra That Khao Noi, where you can see the whole view of Nan city.

The return trip will be on a NCA Gold Class bus departing from Nan Bus Terminal at 7:00 PM and arriving in Bangkok at approximately 5:00 AM. The fare is approximately 544 Baht per person.
