The sun is scorching as it sets, leaving the world in darkness. I wonder if the sun would like some shaved ice? It's so hot that it's perfect for jumping into the sea! This time, we'll take you to Krabi, a paradise for Andaman lovers. (Actually, we went there several years ago, but we just wanted to let the world know. Don't judge us, hehe..)
Our journey began with an early morning flight on AirAsia. It was indeed an early start, requiring us to wake up before dawn to catch the flight. It was the first flight of the day for AirAsia, departing around 6:00 AM.
"Do you see the airplane? It doesn't matter if you do or not, let's just look at the models instead. Hehe... I want to say that this is my first time traveling by plane. It's strange, I've never been on a plane before. I'm a little excited. The feeling of thinking that I'm floating on a cloud is pretty cool."
We arrived at Krabi Airport around 8 am. (I can't remember exactly, haha). For this trip, we had booked everything in advance, including the hotel and diving tours, so we felt like celebrities with people waiting to serve us. Haha. When we arrived at the airport, a hotel van was waiting to pick us up and take us to the hotel to check in. The hotel we stayed at was the Pavillion (I can't remember the exact name). (What can you remember to review, haha?). There are also very few photos because I didn't feel like taking any pictures. I just wanted to enjoy the trip and use my brain to remember everything. Haha.
Today, we opted for a freestyle approach, venturing wherever our whims took us, unburdened by the constraints of a pre-arranged tour package. Our destination of choice: Koh Hong, a secluded paradise renowned for its breathtaking beauty and tranquil Blue Lagoon. The allure of pristine waters and serene tranquility proved irresistible. We bypassed the bustling crowds of Phi Phi and Maya Bay, opting instead for the secluded charm of Koh Hong. (Truth be told, our budget had dwindled considerably after our first island escapade, necessitating a more selective approach to our itinerary.)
The scorching sun arrived in the late morning, as expected. We boarded our pre-booked boat at Hat Noppharat Thara Beach, where we will also be departing tomorrow, as it serves as the starting point for tourist boats. Honestly, we weren't particularly impressed with the boat driver. He offered no guidance or assistance, seemingly indifferent to our needs. He simply stated, "Go wherever you want; I'll stay with the boat," and chuckled. When asked if we were interested, we unanimously declined. Since he showed no interest in us, we decided to entertain ourselves.
Ready to go! Look at everyone's readiness, their faces are so perfect, lol..
The sun is scorching hot today.
No matter how hot it is, we can handle it! In the middle of the Andaman Sea, where there is no signal, it makes us appreciate the people around us more because we don't play with our phones. Hehe... Sometimes, beauty can be found along the way. Before we reach Koh Hong, the sea we pass through is so beautiful that we want to stop right here. But the destination is the destination, so we have to reach it, right?
We arrived at Koh Hong, but we couldn't take the boat in. There was a designated parking area outside, and we had to pay an entrance fee to the island. So, we were stranded on the island! 5555 But who were we to be afraid? Let's go explore!
The scenery is breathtaking, isn't it? Locals say it was even more beautiful before the tsunami, which significantly damaged the coral reefs beneath the sea. When we went underwater, it was almost impossible to walk due to the abundance of rocks on the seabed. Walking barefoot was painful, to say the least. Even though the beauty has diminished, we still found it stunning. The water is crystal clear, making you want to stay immersed forever (although the scorching sun makes it impossible).
Our next stop is the Blue Lagoon, a place rumored to have incredibly still, clear, cool, and serene waters. We'll see if the rumors are true (although it seems we might be the ones causing the commotion).
There are spots where you can stand, jump, and even take photos. It feels like being in the middle of a valley surrounded by water. When you speak, your voice echoes, which is fun. We were shouting a lot. I told you we were here to cause trouble. We loved this place so much that we stayed for a long time, so long that the boat driver almost fell asleep.
Farewell, beautiful and peaceful places still exist. We just need to set out and find them. Don't you want to?
Let's head back to the hotel and relax as we please. Actually, my friends wanted to swim, but let's hold back for now. We're exhausted from today, and we have to visit several more islands tomorrow. Let's just wait for dinner at the hotel in the evening. Have a long rest, everyone!
On the second day, we woke up early to have breakfast and head out to the sea. We had breakfast at the hotel and waited for the car to pick us up to go to the boat. Today's program was a 4-island tour. When the car picked us up from the hotel and took us to the pier, our tour today would be on a large long-tail boat that could accommodate about 20 people. Most of them were Thai, with only 2 foreigners. We stood and listened to the guide talk about what we should and shouldn't do while on the boat and when we went diving. We were ready to go!
Let me tell you, one island is enough! We stayed at Koh Poda, an island with three shades of turquoise water that gradually deepen in color. It was absolutely incredible!
The water is incredibly clear, so you don't even need to dive to see the fish. You can see them just by standing in the water. The tigerfish is a local fish species in the Krabi sea. You can find them on almost every island.
Continuing on to the "Sea Parting" (ทะเลแหวก), which wasn't parting at all (ม่ายแหวก 5555). We arrived at an awkward time, not during the period when the sea would part, so we missed seeing the sandbar in the middle of the ocean. A bit of a bummer, but it was still beautiful. The water was clear and cool, but the sun was incredibly strong. When visiting the beach, remember, don't be afraid to get a tan!
Ahead is the Phra Nang Cave, which is believed to be sacred by the locals. If you come to ask for a soulmate and find one, they say you must return to worship again. Another activity here is cliff climbing, which is very popular with foreign tourists.
Our next stop was Railay Bay, which wasn't originally on the itinerary, but our kind guide took us there. Although the walk was a bit long, the scenery along the way was beautiful. The accommodations near Railay Bay were particularly stunning and peaceful. However, it was low tide during our visit, so we didn't see much of the ocean. Instead, we saw more mud, which was a bit disappointing.
The trip ended with a jump, a must-do activity wherever you go. I wondered if I was jumping at the sea or at Doi Hoy Lod. There was only mud, no sand. 5555
Today's trip may not seem like a full four islands. Yes, it's not complete because I felt that only one island was beautiful, which is Koh Poda. So I took pictures of it on that island only. 55555 When I got back to the hotel, I continued to play in the pool. Where did I get all this energy from? Coming to the sea to play in the pool? What was I thinking? I came to watch the sunset by the pool, okay?
We had dinner at the hotel, as it was included in the tour price. The food was decent, or maybe we were just hungry.
The trip was short and sweet, with most of the time spent at the hotel or at sea. While there wasn't much sightseeing in Krabi, it was a relaxing trip for a first-timer.
Our last day in Krabi. We had breakfast at the hotel as usual, and then waited for the hotel van to take us to the airport. Our flight was at noon. I don't know why they were in such a hurry. We didn't stop anywhere. 55555 I'll end my review here. I'll come back for a rematch on my next trip.
The cost of this trip, we bought a tour + accommodation from the Pavilion Hotel, including everything (1 dinner meal) for about 3,000 baht. We bought it from the Thai Travel Fair held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
The flight cost is around 2,000 baht for a round trip, including both departure and arrival flights.
Life is a journey to seek new experiences that we have never encountered.
