As the summer heat sets in, the allure of the beach becomes irresistible. This time, however, our trip was unplanned, a recurring theme that often leads to unexpected adventures (and occasional detours).
Grab a friend and head out for an adventure!
Our destination for this trip is Ko Sichang, an island off the coast of Chonburi, Thailand. Located just a short two-hour drive from Bangkok, Ko Sichang offers a convenient escape from the city. A 45-minute ferry ride from the mainland brings visitors to the island's shores.
- Historical Significance:
Ko Sichang is a small island with historical significance in Thailand. It served as a royal retreat and residence for three monarchs of the Rattanakosin Kingdom: King Rama IV, King Rama V, and King Rama VI. (Source: Wikipedia Encyclopedia. Ko Sichang.)
2. Transportation on the island: You can rent a motorbike for 250 baht per day, 300 baht for an overnight stay, or 80 baht per hour. We opted to rent motorbikes for our trip. We had limited time, as we departed on the ferry at 11:30 am and arrived on the island around 2:00 pm. We had only three hours to explore before returning on the 5:00 pm ferry.
Upon arrival at the pier, we have a variety of transportation options to choose from, including motorbikes, tuk-tuks, and buses. We embark on a clockwise journey, with each attraction conveniently located in close proximity, allowing us to complete a circular route around the island. Our starting point is the Khao Yai Shrine (curiously, the Khao Yai Shrine is located on Ko Sichang, which raises questions and confusion).
The second point is Phang Nga Bay. Looking down from this point, the atmosphere is very inviting to play in the water. There are not many people, the sand is white, and the sea water is clear... I really want to play in the water. This time, I will just collect the atmosphere around this beach. Next time, I will come and play...sob...sob...T^T I can't play according to the rules. This trip, I don't want to describe it too much. It's more like complaining. Let the pictures tell the story... It's like this trip is a trip to look at the sea and take some relaxing pictures.
Point 3, Laem Chakpong, is another beautiful promontory that juts out into the sea. The shore is lined with large, picturesque rocks, making it a stunning spot to watch the sunset. There is also a rest area for tourists (if you are staying overnight on Koh Sichang, don't miss this sunset viewing point).
Point 4, Khao Khad Viewpoint, the final stop for our trip today. Due to time constraints, there are still many other places we haven't visited. If you take a boat through, you will see a gap in the mountains. In this area, there is a bridge for walking and enjoying the scenery. It is also a beautiful spot for watching the sunset.
Before concluding this trip review, let's summarize the itinerary and approximate expenses.
3. Travel
Minivan from Bangkok to Sattahip. Get on the bus at Major 320/2=160. Get off at Robinson Sriracha (we didn't know the way and got off at the wrong place..excellent-_-)
The return trip was on a van from Robinson Sriracha to Mo Chit, costing 240 baht for two people, or 120 baht per person.
Take a tuk-tuk to the pier (70 baht one way) (80 baht return) 150/2=75
Round-trip fare 200/2 = 100
Rent a motorbike for 2 hours, 160/2=80.
The total cost is 535 baht per person. Food expenses are not included.
Another trip completed… "Koh Sichang". Next time, I will come back to collect the remaining points.
