Hello there...

Today, we will take you on a trip to Mueang Kon (Nakhon Si Thammarat Province). This is our second time visiting Mueang Kon. The first time, we were brought here by someone. We didn't prepare an itinerary or research places to visit. We just packed our bags and followed them. It was very relaxing and easygoing, to be honest. However, this time is different. We had to do everything ourselves, and I mean everything. From finding places to visit and eat to booking accommodation and arranging transportation, it was all on us. It was quite a hassle, and it took us several sleepless nights to finalize the itinerary. So, what does Mueang Kon have to offer? What are the must-see attractions, must-try dishes, and must-stay accommodations? Let's find out!

Attention! We have an exciting activity called "Travel to Nakhon Si Thammarat, Sleep in Nakhon Si Thammarat" for you to participate in.

Two lucky winners will be chosen to join us on a free trip to Nakhon Si Thammarat, where you will experience the city's sights, sounds, and flavors.

This trip, we departed at 5:00 AM. We took a taxi from home to Don Mueang Airport to catch the first AirAsia flight to Nakhon Si Thammarat at 6:50 AM. Let me tell you, the traffic was terrible! Even though it was still early morning. As soon as we arrived, we rushed to check in and walked to the gate just in time. Thankfully, we had the AirAsia Platinum Mastercard from Bangkok Bank. We didn't have to wait in the long queue to check in. We just walked into the special check-in lane (Xpress Check-In). And that was it. We were all set.

Running and walking, fearing they wouldn't make it in time. She...

Greeting, hello, blah blah blah as if they had known each other for years, before ending with a request to take a beautiful photo.

We have arrived in Nakhon Si Thammarat!
It only took about an hour and a half.
Not too close, not too far, just right, don't you think?

Let's go…
The must-try Kopi in Nakhon Si Thammarat, the first in town.

The restaurant's reputation, rumors, and history are all intriguing. The breakfast here is particularly impressive. The restaurant's signature dishes include bak kut teh, colorful sticky rice, giant-sized tong ho fish, and teh tarik. The restaurant's location is easily accessible via Google Maps.

Two people, just bring this much.

Steaming hot bak kut teh with warm rice, absolutely delicious.

Conclude your breakfast with Benjarong sticky rice.
After a satisfying meal, continue to Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan to pay respects.

Following Google Maps from Kopee's shop, we arrived in just five minutes. Thanks to modern technology, traveling has become so much easier, don't you think? Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan is a first-class royal temple of the Worawihan type. Every year, it hosts the important tradition of the procession of the cloth to the stupa, a unique event in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Currently, the Phra Borommathat Chedi is undergoing renovation.

Next, we proceeded to the Phra Buddha Sihing Shrine to pay respects to the revered Phra Buddha Sihing, a sacred Buddha statue deeply cherished by the people of Nakhon Si Thammarat. This exquisite statue embodies the epitome of elegance and beauty. Located within the Nakhon Si Thammarat Provincial Hall, the shrine is easily accessible and marked on Google Maps.

Now that we're in the city of Kon...

We also did not forget to pay our respects at the City Pillar Shrine, which is only 1.5 kilometers from the Phra Buddha Sihing Shrine. It takes 5 minutes to drive there.

After paying respects at the city pillar shrine.

It's lunchtime, and what better way to celebrate than with a plate of fresh rice noodles, a specialty of Nakhon Si Thammarat. If you're visiting the city and haven't tried its famous rice noodles, it's like you haven't truly experienced Nakhon Si Thammarat. Today, we're indulging in a delicious meal at "Mother-in-law's Fresh Rice Noodles with Crab Curry," located just 1.4 kilometers from the City Pillar Shrine. The spacious restaurant can accommodate a large number of diners. The rice noodles are sold in sets, with a large set costing 160 baht and a small set costing 80 baht. The crab curry, however, is not included in the set and must be purchased separately for 70 baht per cup.

Let's go! What are you waiting for?

Enjoy your lunch.

We drove straight to Kiree Wong Riverview Resort, which is 27.2 kilometers away from the "Ma Yaai Fresh Noodles with Crab Curry" restaurant. We used Google Maps as usual, and it took us straight there. As soon as we entered the Lan Saka district, the scenery was breathtaking. The air was fresh and cool, and we wanted to take pictures everywhere. However, we decided to check in to our accommodation, drop off our belongings, and then rent bicycles to explore the area. This seemed like a better plan. But we made a big mistake. As soon as we checked in, it started raining heavily and continued until nightfall. We couldn't go anywhere except for a short walk around the resort. For dinner, we went back to the restaurant and ate. That was the end of our first day's trip, "Exploring Nakhon Si Thammarat and Staying in Phatthalung." We were disappointed. We prayed that the weather would be better the next day so we could take the pictures we wanted. Let's wait and see what happens. See you tomorrow for Day 2, "Staying in Phatthalung."

Less than 5 minutes after leaving the accommodation, it started to rain heavily.

Heavy, strong, and long-lasting rain.

The sky after the rain is still gloomy. Let's wait and see again tomorrow.
