Amidst the chaos and turmoil of daily life, a tranquil retreat amidst nature offers a sanctuary for weary minds and bodies.

Lanjia Lodge is an eco-friendly accommodation nestled amidst the rolling hills.

Nestled within the community-based tourism village of Ban Kiew Kaen, Lanjia Lodge offers more than just physical respite. It serves as a sanctuary for weary souls, revitalizing their spirits. The lodge is situated amidst a community predominantly inhabited by the Hmong and Lahu ethnic groups.

Upon entering Lanjia Lodge, we were immediately struck by its stunning beauty. The lodge's emphasis on natural materials creates a serene and tranquil atmosphere, perfect for relaxation. The lush greenery surrounding the accommodations provides a sense of tranquility and immersion in nature.

The welcome drink is a fragrant pandan leaf water.

Our first meal today is Mi Sua.

Conclude with sweet fruits.

Our little guide for the trip, Nong Lanjia. The name of our accommodation also comes from the name of this young girl. "Lanjia" in the Hmong language means a peaceful, shady, and joyful place.

After settling into our accommodation, we will take a walk around the village.

The villagers' traditional way of life was primarily based on farming, which involved logging in the forest. However, as they became aware of the value of the forest and the environment, they made efforts to reduce the destruction of natural resources. Ultimately, they introduced tourism as a means of conservation and encouraged the weaving of fabrics, batik, and fabric souvenirs for sustainable tourism.

Our first activity today is making Hmong batik fabric.

Nong Lanjia will provide us with various fabric patterns that have been drafted for us to choose from, or we can draft our own patterns.

After the draft is drawn, the next step is to apply wax.

Everyone is working diligently, it may seem easy, but it is actually very difficult. However, it is fun and helps to improve concentration.

A cool breeze and the opportunity to learn batik making were a perfect match. Everyone enjoyed the art, and some even became "art stains" themselves. 5555.

Behold! A batik fabric with a Dream Catcher pattern, handcrafted by yours truly.

Alongside, you'll find a diverse selection of Hmong handicrafts available for purchase.

Beautiful bags, cute keychains, shawls, and scarves are perfect for souvenirs.

After finishing the batik fabric, we will go plant trees together.

First, let's choose a tree to plant.

Next, each person receives a lotus-shaped watering can.

Fellow travelers

The hiking trail is not very long and is easy to walk.

Let's choose a suitable spot and get started.

Today, we planted a tamarind tree. We will come back to visit it in the following years.

The dog followed to plant trees.

After a sweaty hike, we will head to Tea'cher organic farm to savor their organic tea.

First, warm your hands with a cup of tea and inhale its fragrant aroma.

At the farm, you will also encounter these two mischievous characters. They are very naughty!

The tea here has a wonderful natural flavor, with no artificial colors or scents. It has a subtle, pleasant aroma and offers numerous health benefits. I highly recommend purchasing some to take home with you – you won't be disappointed!

This special menu from Tea'cher Organic Farm is not yet available for sale, but the kind teacher who owns the farm made it for us to try.

After a long day, it's time to rest. Lanjia Lodge, built entirely from natural materials, is a traditional Thai mountain-style bamboo house raised on stilts.

This private bathroom offers stunning views and amenities, including a fan.

To fully immerse yourself in nature, this accommodation does not offer television services.

The balcony offers stunning 180-degree views, encompassing the Mekong River and the intricate mountain ranges stretching as far as the eye can see. During the winter season, a mesmerizing sea of fog graces the landscape.

Our bedroom tonight.

The bathroom is beautifully decorated, clean, and well-proportioned.

Our dinner today

We were impressed by the decor and materials used at Lanjia Lodge. The attention to detail was evident in small touches, such as the rice bowls made from stylish canisters.

The dessert was fried taro. I initially planned not to eat it, but I ended up finishing the whole plate. 555

The local performance consists of two sets. In both sets, the villagers will walk around and perform for each house.

After the show, we can go stargazing on the lawn in front of the resort. The village has minimal light pollution, offering a spectacular view of the stars.

It's time for bed.

Waking up to fresh air and a million-dollar view

From the balcony of our house, we have a breathtaking view of the Mekong River and the Laotian side. On a clear day, you can even see the sea of mist from here.

After watching the sunrise until my heart was content, my stomach began to growl.

This morning's breakfast is mostly egg dishes, but the taste is still delicious as always.

Additional menu items beyond what we ordered at Lanjia Lord, prepared by the restaurant.

This morning, we will explore the village. First, let's listen to its history. This will be available in English only.

Our first stop is the Hmong village.

Shaman's house in a Hmong village.

Shamanic amulets and ritual paraphernalia

The village is spotless, with no garbage in sight. We appreciate the concept of elevated trash cans, which effectively prevent dogs from rummaging through them.

The elderly woman is incredibly strong, carrying firewood up the hill with ease.

Village Cafe

Another cafe in the village.

Border Patrol Police School

The children are studying their textbooks to prepare for their exams.

We met the little one with her grandmother and older sister. The little one is so adorable! Her grandmother told us that she is only 6 months old but can already walk. Wow, she's talented from a young age! We will continue on to the Lahu village.

After exploring the village for a while, we will come across the chicken house.

Our accommodation is visible from the village.

Upon arrival, the shaman served us hot tea. We were instructed to drink from the side of the cup that did not have a mark.

The shaman instructed that to subdue a ghost, one must cover their face with a cloth to prevent the ghost from recognizing them.

Ghost-hunting equipment
