Do you remember how many times you've been to Koh Larn? Where did you go each time, and when was your most recent visit?

This review serves as a reminder to myself of the places I've visited. Before writing this review, I looked back at my old reviews on Pantip from my trips to Koh Larn in 2012, 2014, and 2015. I couldn't remember if I had been to Koh Larn before then. For this trip in May 2017, I'm writing a review on Readme for the first time because I can upload photos without having to resize them. Each trip has brought new experiences, so I recommend that anyone with free time write reviews. At the very least, it's a good memory to have.

This trip, I met my friends at Hua Mak BTS station around 11:00 AM. We stopped for lunch at a rest stop on the motorway and then headed to the Laan Pho Market in Na Kluea to buy shrimp, crab, and squid to cook at our accommodation (recommended by a friend who lives in Pattaya). We bought 5 crabs per kilogram for 430 baht, 2 kilograms of shrimp, and 4 squids. We had the crabs steamed for 30 baht per kilogram and bought ice to grill the shrimp and squid ourselves. Don't forget to buy dipping sauce! It's 50 baht per bag. You can also buy souvenirs at the market if you want. (This was my first time buying seafood to grill.)

Live blue crabs, 5 crabs per kilogram, 430 baht per kilogram.

We bought 2 kilograms of shrimp for 5 people, fearing it wouldn't be enough. However, after grilling, we had about half a kilogram left over.

The shrimp grill is constantly busy, with a crab steamer located behind it.

While waiting for the steamed crab, we took a walk to the beach to take photos. Today, at two o'clock in the afternoon, the water level was significantly lower, offering a distant view of the Sanctuary of Truth.

Parking at Laem Bali Hai costs 200 baht for overnight parking (it was 180 baht two years ago). Walk to the boat and pay the boat fee before boarding, 30 baht per person. Ignore anyone who says you won't make it to the big boat and tell you to take a speedboat. We made it to the 3:00 PM boat and it took about 30 minutes to reach the pier in front of Koh Larn. The weather was overcast all day, but luckily it didn't rain.

Koh Lan has a total of 7 named beaches. I have ridden a motorcycle to visit all the beaches twice, in 2012 and 2014. Thong Lang Beach can be reached by riding a motorcycle on the sidewalk from Ta Waen Beach before 9:00 AM.

For this trip to Koh Lan, my friend booked two nights of accommodation. The first night was at Pikul Resort, and the second night was at Baan Pak Chelianglom.

Upon arrival at the pier in front of your house, a car from Pikul Resort will pick you up. If you disembark at Ta-A-Whan Pier, there will be a 200 baht pick-up fee. (While we were shopping at Na Kluea Market, the resort owner called to ask where we were. After disembarking, my friend called to inform him again.) It takes less than 10 minutes to reach the resort by motorcycle with a sidecar.

This trip, my friend booked Pikul Kaew House (green) for 1,500 baht per night and Pikul Thong House (orange) for 1,800 baht per night.
You can check the price of each house at http://pikunguesthome.com/aticle2.html

The pink Pikul House, located next to the orange Pikul Thong House, costs 1,800 baht per night (this room has a slightly better sea view).

One free motorbike is provided per group (you need to fill up the gas yourself). We were a group of 5, and the owner kindly let us use 3 motorbikes.

Here, life jackets, inflatable rings, and canoes are available for paddling.

The beach in front of the resort was low tide when we arrived. (Taken using panorama mode from iPhone 6S)

We rode our motorcycles to play in the water at Hat Ta Waen.

After a short swim, they rode back on their bikes, stopping along the way to take backlit photos at the scenic viewpoint of Haad Ta Waen beach.

Riding a motorbike back to the accommodation. On the way, I passed Rajavadee Resort on Koh Lan. I remember taking a picture of it a long time ago.

The next few meters will be Suk Sabai Resort.

While waiting for the barbecue, I decided to go canoeing to kill time. (The photo is blurry, so I asked a friend to take a picture and send it to me via Line.)

Dinner time! Grilled shrimp and grilled squid.

The shrimp is a bit overcooked, the texture is a bit tough. It should be grilled just until cooked.

Steamed rice, please warm it up for me.

The atmosphere at night can be a bit dark.

I woke up early and took the canoe out for a paddle. There were hardly any waves, so I was able to paddle all the way to Laem Hua Khot. It's a shame I didn't bring my phone to take pictures. I didn't have a waterproof bag with me, so I had to go back and ride my motorbike to take pictures again. (The path down to Laem Hua Khot is a red laterite dirt road before you reach the Haad Ta Yai parking lot. The road isn't very good.)

This is the spot where boats pass by on their way to Haad Ta-Hwan beach. I stood here taking photos for a long time.

Morning atmosphere at the beach in front of the resort

The resort owner returned from fishing in the morning. (When he went out in a canoe, he saw someone fishing in the distance. He didn't know it was the resort owner, so he could go fishing with him. The uncle told him to go fishing together next time.)

While waiting for my friend to check out to check in at Baan Cheliang Lom, a new accommodation, let's explore it first.

Let's explore the breezy veranda kitchen by the beach.

Next to the house with the wind chime is the house with the Chuenchom flowers.

We then rode our motorcycles to explore the beaches. The first beach we visited was Hat Thian. However, I had an accident where the motorcycle's throttle got stuck, causing my leg to touch the exhaust pipe. I had to go to the clinic to get my wound treated and then returned to our accommodation. At 10:30 AM, the accommodation drove me to catch the 11:00 AM boat back. My friend stayed for another night. The boat took 30 minutes to arrive. The weather was excellent today.

The Sky Gallery: A Culinary Oasis in Pattaya

This afternoon, friends from Pattaya picked me up at the pier and took me to The Sky Gallery for a delightful lunch.

This restaurant is located on a hilltop, offering a clear view of the sea with Koh Larn island in the foreground. It's an ideal spot to enjoy the sunset in the evening.

The restaurant offers food for squirrels near the large tree, and there is also a path leading down to the sea below.

My journey on this trip has come to an end after my friend dropped me off at the pier to pick up my car. Thank you for following me to the end.

Pattaya is a popular tourist destination for both Thais and foreigners. Come and experience something new.

For Pattaya, I recommend another review of bringing your dog to stay at Sunset Village Beach Resort: https://th.readme.me/p/6838
