I want to travel before I start working. But where should I go???
"I want to try traveling to the north during the rainy season. I've only been there during the winter."
"I'd rather try riding a motorcycle and traveling."
...................That's all I had in my head at that time.
#We departed on June 26, 2017.
We did not book a train, we bought tickets at the station, but we called to check if there were any seats available (1690 call center).
There are many trains from Bangkok (Hualamphong) to Chiang Mai, the free train will be train number 109.
You can check the prices and schedules of trains at this link: http://www.railway.co.th/checktime/checktime.asp
The return trip from Chiang Mai to Bangkok (Hualamphong) on the free train will be train number 102.
However, we decided to save our energy for riding a motorbike later... so we opted for a sleeper train instead.
(Those who have taken the free train to Chiang Mai would understand 5555)
We arrived at Hua Lamphong Station at 6:00 PM. Let's hurry to buy tickets.
We purchased a one-way ticket for the 9th train (Uttaradit route), a new train, 2nd class, upper berth, for 791 baht (new carriage).
To ensure a smooth return trip, I booked my ticket back on Friday. The train I chose was the 14th, lower berth on the second floor, costing 881 baht (old carriage).
The pantry offers a variety of ready-to-heat meals for purchase, starting at 60 baht. A selection of beverages is also available. Each passenger will receive a complimentary bottle of water at their seat. (Please refer to the food labels for pricing.)
Around 8 pm, the staff will make your bed.
The initial route plan is to ride counter-clockwise from Chiang Mai to Mae Hong Son. We will decide on specific stops along the way based on the situation at the time. We will follow this route on our motorcycles.
Arrived!!!!! Chiang Mai 07.25 am. 10 minutes late.
We took a red songthaew to the Arcade Bus Terminal for 30 baht each.
We rented a motorbike at BIKKY shop. We chose HOND CLICK I 125cc for 300 baht per day for a total of 4 days, 1200 baht (calculated as a 24-hour daily rental). The shop will keep our ID card.
Free! Half-face helmet (without visor). If you want a full-face helmet with a visor, the shop offers rentals for 50 baht per day.
After getting the car, I went to fill up the tank with gas. It cost 160 baht for a full tank, which is about 4 liters.
Our first destination was the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, but it was closed for renovations (T^T). So we rode on to Mon Cham.
We came across EDEN garden on our way, so we stopped by to take a break. There is a coffee shop, a vineyard, and a fruit and vegetable garden. So we took a walk around here for a while.
The entrance fee to the garden is 20 baht. There is a box for payment at the entrance.
Coffee shop
We have arrived at Mon Cham! It's amazing! The air is fresh and the mist is light.
A single tiger lily, blooming out of season, is a rare sight to behold.
This is the rainy season.
Candidly capture their natural charm.
The light mist is refreshingly cool.
On the way down from Mon Cham, we stopped for a roadside meal. The food was decent and affordable, costing around 30-40 baht.
Looks delicious! ^^
We arrived at the bottom around 10 am, so we continued on a long journey to reach Pai. We took the **Pai-Mae Malai route**.
Encountered some rain, but not too heavy. Put on a raincoat and continued on.
We have arrived at the entrance of the park, which means we are getting close to Mae Hong Son!
We're finally in Mae Hong Son! Feeling a bit stiff after the journey, but we snapped some photos and are ready to keep exploring! 5555
We have finally arrived in Pai! We are so excited to be here. Our first stop is the Pai Historical Bridge, the gateway to Pai. It's a beautiful day, and the sun is shining brightly. It's about 2:30 PM now, and the sun is really strong.
During the low season, there are not many tourists, and the room rates are cheap. We rode around on a motorbike looking for a place to stay and found one for 300 baht. It was a fan room, and I can't remember the name of the place. It was located opposite the school. After taking a shower and resting for a while, we went to Wat Phra That Mae Yen.
Oh, the stairs lead to a faint glimpse of the Buddha statue.
The view from above is breathtaking, showcasing the cityscape of Pai. In the distance, rain clouds gather, hinting at an approaching storm.
In the evening, we went to find food at the Pai Walking Street, which is open every day. There was a lot of food (I didn't take many pictures, I was too busy eating).
Sesame sticky rice is my favorite. I have to eat it whenever I see it. (If you haven't tried it, you should!)
We left our accommodation at 7 am and rode around looking for something to eat before entering Mae Hong Son.
Pai Pa Tong Go Shop This shop sells delicious soybean milk and deep-fried dough sticks. Go try it!
The porridge stall is a cart on the opposite side of the road. The grandmother said that you can order it to eat in the shop. It's very cheap!
Minced pork and shiitake mushroom congee, 25 baht. Delicious and generous portion.
Before leaving Pai, I filled up the tank (110 baht) and headed towards Mae Hong Son.
The air is very good. It is humid, the rain did not fall. The fog is very cold. Stop the car at Doi Kiew Lom. There is no view 5555. The fog is down, it's all white (if the fog doesn't come down, we will see the winding road from here).
Let's continue!
Now that you've arrived in Mae Hong Son, don't miss Baan Jabo!
The off-road path is quite long. If you ride to the steepest point, you are almost there. Be careful, the **descent** is also **steep**.
Even if you are full, you must try the "Hanging Leg Noodles at Sergeant Bo's House". Noodles for ten baht, a million-dollar view.
Beautiful view, delicious taste ><
One more picture, please.
Your back is always beautiful, friend. Wink wink.
It was worth the ride. I'll have to come back again when I have the chance.
After leaving Ban Ja Bo, we stopped to rest the car and walk around Tham Pla, which has an entrance fee of 20 baht per person.
The fish are very, very big and there are a lot of them. (Don't forget to feed the fish, they look delicious!)
Leaving Tham Pla Cave, I came across a sign for Pang Ung - Ban Rak Thai. Since I was already in the area, I decided to stop by.
26 kilometers is not that far (or maybe it is).
...Arriving at Rak Thai village, it's raining! Haha. This place is so beautiful, quiet, peaceful, and there's no one around. 5555
However, on the day we went, only Liwaine Rak Thai Resort was open. If you are interested in staying here, you can follow this page.
Facebook page of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital
Although it is the rainy season, the atmosphere is just as good as the winter. It's beautiful in a different way.
Now that we've arrived at the tea plantation village, we must try some tea. The shops here offer a variety of options, including coffee shops, restaurants, tea shops, and souvenir shops.
(Unfortunately, the person who makes the tea is not here. Oh no! I can't have any.)
Resting in the shop to relieve fatigue. The view is beautiful. 0.0
Riding out from Baan Rak Thai, we stopped at Pang Ung. When we arrived at Pang Ung, the water was dry (it was the beginning of the rainy season).
We tried to find the swans, but we couldn't find them. So sad! (! --)
Few people have ever seen Pang Ung in this way. It gives a different atmosphere.
Leaving Pang Ung and entering the main road to Mae Hong Son city.
We stopped by Sutongpe Bridge, turning in for about 3 kilometers. This is a temple. The bridge was built to connect the temple and the village, so that villagers can come to make merit and monks can perform their duties.
In addition to sightseeing, visitors can also make merit by donating to the restoration of the bridge and temple.
Monks are observing the planting of Pink Trumpet Trees. In a few years, the temple will be adorned with beautiful pink flowers.
We arrived in Mae Hong Son city around 4 pm.
After driving around for a while looking for accommodation, we found that there were quite a few options available. Choose whichever one you like. In conclusion, ...
#Accommodation at Jongkham Place, 600 baht per night, air-conditioned room# (The auntie is very kind) It's a pity there are no pictures.
Nong Chong Kham
During the high season, there is a market around Nong Chong Kham.
7:00 AM, we started our day with breakfast and a visit to a temple.
Mae Hong Son is a small town with many temples located close to each other. We visited Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu.
This will be the coffee shop area.
From this temple, we can see a panoramic view of the entire city of Mae Hong Son. It's breathtaking.
Wat Chong Kham and Wat Chong Klang are two distinct temples, but their adjacent locations create the illusion of a single temple.
Filled up the gas tank (70 baht) before leaving Mae Hong Son city.
Today's destination is Chiang Mai, taking the route Khun Yuam - Mae Chaem - Doi Inthanon.
Judging from the map, the distance is very far. This is really far (! --)
Along the way, there are beautiful natural scenery to enjoy. **Don't miss the scenic viewpoint at Pha Bong.**
A landscape of alternating mountains, with wispy clouds and water flowing between the peaks.
The intricate mountain range serves as an ideal resting point.
And here we are (!! _ _) at the Royal Agricultural Station.
Around 2 pm, almost 3 pm, I'm so tired!!!!! On the way, my fever went up again, I switched to let my friend ride the motorcycle, I survived.
The entrance fee to the Royal Agricultural Station is 20 baht.
We visited during the peak season, and it was much more beautiful. The area is currently undergoing renovations, but it is still lovely.
Initially, we considered staying overnight at Doi Inthanon.
However, due to the distance and our early departure scheduled for 5 am the next day, we decided to head straight into the city.
We went all the way and ended up at Wh'ite Guesthouse.
https://www.facebook.com/White-Guest-House-CM-1533...
The room rate was only 490 baht, which was reasonable.
As usual, there are no pictures. Upon arrival, we just wanted to sleep.
I love it! >< Honestly, I'm not picky about accommodation. We usually just ride around and look for a place to stay.
When we arrived at Wh'ite Guesthouse, it was raining heavily, so we decided to stay there. 5555
The first day was exciting. I woke up around 10 am, took a shower, packed my things, and went downstairs to check out.
You can leave your luggage at the lobby first, so you can continue your trip comfortably.
On the left side of the road, there is a delicious Khao Soi Mae Sai restaurant. It's affordable too (didn't have time to take a picture, haha).

Continue riding to Phuping Palace, the entrance fee is 20 baht per person.
For attire, shorts are not allowed. We wore shorts that just covered our knees and were not allowed in. There were no sarongs available to borrow.
There are shops selling pants and sarongs for 150 baht and up, but there are also rental shops for 40 baht. So we rented a pair to wear.
A sight to behold for plant lovers. We're sure you'll be smitten.

The heavy rain came down quickly, trapping me for a long time. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to catch the train in time. As soon as the rain stopped, I rode my motorbike down. When I arrived at the park office, I encountered a major problem: a fallen tree was blocking the road. Oh no! I'm going to miss the train for sure. It was already 4 pm. (T^T) After waiting for the park rangers to cut down the tree for a while, there was just enough space for my motorbike to pass. I thanked them profusely and made my way out. _/_
He rushed down in his car, but due to the rain, he was afraid of the slippery road and couldn't drive fast. When he arrived downstairs, oh my god! There was a massive traffic jam.
Will I make it? I'm stuck at every red light, there's a lot of traffic, and I'm lost again. TTOTT I arrived at the car rental shop and returned the car after 5 pm. The shop dropped us off at the train station, and we went straight to the ticket counter, hoping for a chance. Another train might have space. No luck, it's all full. Two Chinese people missed the same train as us. The station staff suggested that we charter a car to Lampang for 1,500 baht. We split it four ways to go to Lampang. It's okay, because we can't wait another day, we have things to do.
Let's summarize the expenses to help you plan your trip.
...Becoming a traveler is not difficult,
...but achieving success in travel is not easy.
...Obstacles will arise at an unknown time, but learn to overcome them....
