From Cha-am District, take Phetkasem Road, passing Cha-am Intersection and the Regent Cha-am Hotel. Continue until Km 216, where you will find the entrance to the King Rama VI Army Camp on the left-hand side.

Drive approximately 3 km into the camp, following the signs. The Royal Residence is located on the beachfront.

The Royal Residence of Maruekhathaiyawan is a serene oasis, boasting a lush landscape of towering trees.

Mrigadayavan Palace is open to the public on

Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Saturday-Sunday and public holidays from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Admission fee is 30 baht for adults and 15 baht for children.

As Mrigadayavan Palace is a royal residence, proper attire is required.

Upon entering, you will encounter a fountain in the center of the garden, surrounded by benches for relaxation.

If memory serves, this section is called the Venice Wanich Garden.

A little further on, we will encounter a row of houses, which served as the living quarters for the royal entourage.

The interior showcases a simulated living space with household items from the past on display.

The reason why the Mrigadayavan Palace is known as the palace of love and hope is because when Queen Indrasakdi Sachi was pregnant, King Vajiravudh was overjoyed and hoped for a son. However, all hope was lost when the Queen was unable to give birth. At that time, the King cared for his Queen with a worried and sorrowful heart. This palace is therefore the origin of the name "the palace of love and hope".

Visitors to the upper terrace of the Grand Palace are required to remove their shoes.

Shoe bags are available for loan, or you can purchase one as a souvenir for only 20 baht.

From the Mrigadayavan Palace, we drove back towards Cha-am for about 12 kilometers.

At the entrance, there is a large PTT gas station. Turn in a little further and you will arrive.

However, it is recommended to park at the upper level first for easy check-in at the hotel.
