Let's travel to Chiang Mai during the rainy season.
This trip, we are traveling with Bangkok Airways, where we got tickets for less than a thousand baht.
Upgrade to the Blue Ribbon Lounge using your AIS Serenade Gold privileges.
You can order food and drinks from the menu.
Let's try some pork and shrimp wonton congee. It's delicious. And of course, I can't forget the sticky rice. 5555.
It also comes with a massage chair.
The lounge includes restrooms and showers.
It's time to hit the road! ^^ This flight is a Bus Gate.
The in-flight meal consists of an omelet with chicken sausage and breaded fish.
We will continue in Chiang Mai.
Our first day began in Chiang Mai. We opted to rent a car for our travels because it was the rainy season, making it easier to get around. My top priority from my previous visit to Chiang Mai was to visit the Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden in Mae Rim District. I was eager to try the Canopy walks, but unfortunately, they were closed for maintenance. Oh well!
We admired the diverse and beautiful flora.
After admiring the diverse flora and fauna, I ventured to the nearby Pongyang Jungle Coaster & Zipline, eager to experience the Jungle Coaster. Having previously enjoyed a similar experience in Vietnam, I was curious to see if this one would offer a comparable thrill.
The cost is 150 baht per round. You will receive tokens to insert into the gate.
Let's go!
The gameplay felt a bit short. It was over too quickly.
We then headed to Mae Kampong Village in Mae On District.
The road is quite steep and narrow in some sections.
A classic choice, perfect for a slow-paced lifestyle. Haha!
Uncle Put & Aunt Peng, a must-visit check-in and photo spot for anyone visiting Mae Kampong.
We have booked a room at Baan Ing Doi Homestay for 750 baht per person, including two meals (dinner and breakfast).
We were very lucky to get a large bedroom with a balcony for just two people. The atmosphere was amazing, with cool air and a light rain falling.
^^
It's dinner time! There are four delicious dishes.
After finishing my meal, I returned to my room to enjoy the view of the mist from the window. It was a truly blissful experience.
After a good night's sleep, we drove to Giw Fin viewpoint around 5:30 AM. The road leading up to the viewpoint is quite steep and has many sharp turns.
You can park your car at the viewpoint here.
Walk another 200 meters to reach the viewpoint.
The leaves are covered in dew.
We have arrived at the Giw Fin viewpoint.
The thick fog, a result of last night's heavy rain, completely obscured the view below.
On the way back down from Giw Fin, stop by Mae Kampong Waterfall.
He then went downstairs to buy food for the monks on a Buddhist holy day.
Offering sticky rice to monks.
After offering alms at the temple, we returned to the homestay for breakfast. Breakfast consisted of rice porridge and soft-boiled eggs. We brought two additional dishes (we wanted to try some northern Thai food).
After a satisfying meal, prepare to check out and make one last stop before leaving Mae Kampong village: the Chom Nok-Chom Mai shop.
The view is truly magnificent.
After leaving Mae Kampong Village, we stopped by the Sankampaeng Hot Spring before continuing our journey to Baan Rabeang Dao, which is not far away. We boiled eggs there for 20 baht each. 5555
After boiling the eggs, we soaked our feet in hot water at the hot spring near the city wall. Then, we drove straight to Baan Rabeang Dao, which was about 100 kilometers away. The drive took almost 2 hours. The road leading up to Baan Rabeang Dao has many curves, so it's important to honk your horn to signal oncoming vehicles.
Finally, we arrived at Baan Rabeang Dao. It took us several days to finally get through on the phone to make a reservation.
The balcony area, which serves as a shop at Baan Rabiaeng Dao, is a popular spot for visitors to take photos with Doi Luang Chiang Dao in the background.
Our accommodation costs 500 baht per person, including dinner and breakfast.
This accommodation does not have electrical outlets inside the room. Only a bed, pillows, and blankets are provided. If you need to charge your mobile phone or camera, you must go to the front entrance. The service charge is 20 baht per device! There are a lot of mosquitoes in the evening, so you should bring mosquito repellent.
View from the balcony of the house.
After a short wait, the fog began to dissipate, revealing Doi Luang to our view.
It's time for dinner. Dinner is usually served around 5 pm. You can eat on the balcony in front of your accommodation or on the balcony of the shop. The food is simple.
The fog gets thicker as the night deepens.
Due to the heavy rain last night, the morning was filled with thick fog that hung very low.
The atmosphere is fantastic.
Breakfast is served very early here, around 6 am. It consists of rice porridge, tea, and coffee.
Enjoying a meal with a scenic view and a refreshing breeze. The atmosphere is truly delightful.
Before leaving Chiang Dao, I decided to stop by Wat Tham Chiang Dao, as it was conveniently on my way.
The entrance fee is 20 baht per person.
The cave offers lamp rentals and guided tours for 100 baht per group (maximum 5 people). If you do not use these services, the temple does not allow self-guided tours. You can only visit the Reclining Buddha Cave.
Our journey has come to an end. Before returning to Bangkok, we stopped by to pay respects at Phra That Doi Suthep. Otherwise, it would be like we never came to Chiang Mai. Haha!
I will review the next trip when I have the chance.
