Discussing the rainy season and wanting to visit the beach, but worried about the possibility of rain, getting wet, and not being able to enjoy the water. Concerns about safety and aesthetics. Many questions arise.

Despite some negative reviews, others have reported positive experiences with fewer crowds, empty rooms, and lower prices. Therefore, Koh Kood in Trat province was chosen.

This trip, therefore, chose Koh Kood, Trat Province, the second largest island in the province. Its beauty is not inferior to any other island.

As a native of Trat province, I decided to explore nearby attractions for a convenient and relaxing getaway.

Travel

From Bangkok, there are many convenient transportation options for those without a car.

Vans from both Ekkamai and Mo Chit are available for 300 baht.

The bus fare is around 200 baht.

Ship booking

I have booked a boat through the website http://www.kohkoodtravel.com/.

Ferry schedules vary depending on the destination. Advance booking is required to secure a spot on the ferry.

The boat trip costs 350 baht one way, or 700 baht round trip. This includes free round-trip transportation from the city center to the pier and from the pier to your accommodation.

To begin your journey, take a car to the city center of Trat or the bus station. Then, call the company you booked your boat with to arrange a free pick-up to the pier. Remember to call at least one or two hours in advance. They have shuttle services that run at specific times. If you are driving yourself, head directly to the pier at Laem Sok. There will be signs indicating the way to Koh Kood Pier. At the pier, there is a parking lot available. The daily parking fee is not specified.

I have booked a boat for the afternoon. They will pick me up.

Present your booking documents and collect your boarding pass.

The reserved boat is a comfortable, spacious, two-story wooden vessel equipped with air conditioning to prevent seasickness.

It takes about 1.30 hours to reach the island.

Koh Kood is the second largest island after Koh Chang, but the sea here is as beautiful as any other island. The water is crystal clear and the sky is blue. It's truly stunning.

Upon disembarking, a shuttle will be waiting to transport passengers. Passengers staying at the same accommodation will be grouped together in the same vehicle.

I have booked accommodation at Saim Hut for 600 baht. It has a fan, but it's not hot. The fan is cool and the house is by the sea with a beautiful view and clear water.

After checking in, I took a walk to explore the sea. It's been a while since I've been to the beach.

Renting a car for 250 baht per day, with fuel costs not included, allowed for exploration of other beaches in the area.

The canals here are stunning, with accommodations offering breathtaking canal views and exceptional boating opportunities. The highly sought-after Baan Makok resort is fully booked, and numerous other beautiful locations are available. Boating on the open sea is an unforgettable experience. I intended to visit the waterfall, but as evening approaches, I will postpone it until tomorrow.

Take a leisurely stroll along the beach and relax on the long bridge. The atmosphere is fantastic.

After exploring the nearby beach, we rode back to the beach of our accommodation, where there was a bridge to take photos. We also waited for the sunset.

The morning rain put a damper on my plans for an extended morning photo shoot.

It wasn't until almost 10 am that the rain stopped, so we started driving our motorbike to the waterfall. According to the information we found, there are three waterfalls here: Khlong Chao Waterfall, which everyone must visit; Khlong Yai Kee Waterfall; and Huai Nam Khieo Waterfall, which is the most beautiful but difficult to reach during the rainy season due to road construction. As a result, we were unable to visit it.

The car returned to the Khlong Chao waterfall. We walked in for 500 meters. The path was a bit difficult. When we reached the waterfall, we had to walk through the water. It has been raining frequently lately, and the water level was high, so we decided to turn back. We were also worried because it had just stopped raining.

We changed our accommodation for the second night to Koh Kood Resort.

Relaxing on the bed, enjoying the sea view and the gentle breeze. This is the perfect place to unwind. Who says you can't visit the beach during the rainy season?

Inside the room.

It's time to get organized. The sun is setting and the wind is dying down. We have to play in the sea for a while, otherwise it will be said that we didn't come here. Here, there are free kayaks and paddle boats. But if you want other activities, there are also rental services available.

It rained again in the morning, so I missed the opportunity to take photos of the morning sea. I packed my things and checked out, wanting to stay longer. I waited for a car to pick me up and take me to the pier. On the way back, I booked a boat with another company, which was fine. I informed them when I boarded the boat. When I arrived at the pier, a car picked me up and took me to the transportation station. That's the end of my trip.
