Mount Bromo, the Land of the Gods' Breath. 😇 The name is grand, and visitors must be courageous, as this volcano is a slumbering giant that has not yet fully extinguished. 😈 Visitors can walk on the crater rim, where they will see smoke and hear a powerful (and frightening) roar. It is a must-see, so don't miss it! ☺

This trip, we planned to focus solely on Bromo, spending four days and three nights there. Capturing the perfect shot at Bromo requires a bit of luck, as the weather conditions can be unpredictable. Some days are shrouded in thick fog, while others are completely clear. Therefore, we decided to dedicate our time to capturing memories of this special place. The sunrise from the Penanjakan viewpoint was breathtakingly beautiful, and the crowds were unlike anything we had ever seen. It was truly the most magnificent sunrise we had ever witnessed.

This trip was our first international trip together as Lazy Coup. ❤💛 It wasn't a sweet trip like everyone else's, but I can definitely say that it's worth taking your partner here. It was a difficult trip, but it's exciting every time I think about it. #lazycoup #tag your partner to take them on a difficult trip.

Our journey took place between July 20th and 24th, 2017. We flew from Thailand to Bromo. Since there were no direct flights, we opted for AirAsia, which included a layover at an unspecified location.

Outbound ::

1. Don Mueang (20:55) -> Jakarta (00:25)

2. Jakarta (5:45 AM) -> Surabaya (7:15 AM)

Return trip ::

1. Surabaya (12:25) -> Kuala Lumpur (16:05)

2. Kuala Lumpur (20:40) -> Don Mueang (22:00)

The total ticket price was quite high at 10,000 baht per person. However, if you do some research, you may be able to find cheaper tickets.

The plan we had made brought us to Surabaya early in the morning on the first day of our trip.

We spent some time at the airport getting ready and waiting for our guide to pick us up.

The total cost includes guide fees, airport shuttle van fees, and jeep rental fees for the entire trip (4 days and 3 nights) for 5,000 baht per person.

Let me capture some photos of the Indonesian people along the way.

The journey to Bromo Permai Hotel by van was similar to a trip to Phu Thap Boek, with numerous winding turns. However, the distance was significantly longer, and the driver maintained a high speed. This thrilling experience is definitely worth trying.

This is the room where we will be placing the body. The price is 2500 baht per person (the room can accommodate 3 people).

Upon checking into the hotel, we discreetly surveyed the surrounding area to identify potential sightseeing or photography locations. However, the dense fog obscured our vision, prompting us to rest and wake up at 2:00 AM to capture starlight at the Penanjakan viewpoint.

The early morning is very cold, with temperatures around 7-10 degrees Celsius and a strong wind. Therefore, it is essential to bring warm clothing such as hats, scarves, and gloves.

Be aware that the temperature can rise to 15-20 degrees Celsius in the late morning and afternoon. Dress in layers so you can easily adjust to the changing temperature.

We stood waiting from 3 am until the morning light shone through. We began to see the mist and the details of the hidden nature.

Let's guess which mountain is Bromo.

1. The smoking caldera volcano is "Bromo".

2. The stunning Batok volcano, the last in the series, and

3. The highest level is Sumeru.

Bromo stands at an impressive 2,300 meters above sea level.

From the original viewpoint, if we sweep our eyes to the left, we will see a village that looks like a cliff containing fog. This village is called Cemoro Lawang (Bromo Permai Hotel where we are staying is right here).

Immerse yourself in the mesmerizing mist that envelops the village of Cemoro Lawang.

The breathtaking beauty of the mist, a gift from nature, left us in awe. On this trip, I personally vote Penanjakan viewpoint as the most stunning.

Cold weather, beautiful views, and a warm embrace from a loved one's soft body.

Relax and enjoy the beautiful view until the mist gradually disappears.

We then embarked on an adventure in a jeep. The jeeps here are vibrantly colored, and their owners clearly cherish them.

You can inform the guide/driver that you would like to take a picture with the jeep. However, be careful when climbing onto the vehicle, as the owner has informed us that the paint job is expensive. Additionally, inquire about where you can and cannot step to avoid damaging the vehicle.

Then we'll head to the savanna.

The contrasting landscapes of white and purple grasslands create a unique and captivating visual experience. Horseback riding is available for those who wish to capture the beauty of the scenery.

The next morning, we set out for the crater rim of Mount Bromo in a cool jeep, just like before.

Upon reaching the parking area, we will encounter horses and tall individuals with diverse appearances and personalities. We are free to choose as we please.

If you find a horse you like, you can rent it and ride it up the mountain.

This is the horse we both chose. I started from the starting point at a price of 125,000 IDR, and Kim started before going up the hill at a price of 50,000 IDR.

The question of whether to rent a horse is answered with a resounding yes. This is because riding a horse uphill at the end of the journey will significantly reduce physical exertion. However, be cautious of falling and hold on tightly. (Also, the area is very dusty, so it is recommended to bring a face mask and glasses.)

Upon reaching the designated horse parking area, we briefly stopped to take some photos.

Feel free to enjoy a refreshing glass of orange juice or a bowl of instant noodles to recharge your energy.

Don't forget to buy flowers to pay respects and make a wish. (The vendor speaks Thai, saying "flowers, flowers").

There are many beautiful photo spots. Feel free to get creative!

This is the final bastion we must ascend to reach the crater of the volcano.

I encountered Indonesian soldiers during a trekking and skydiving expedition. They were incredibly cool.

Upon reaching the crater rim, we performed the ritual of tossing flowers into the Mount Bromo volcano as an offering. The flowers were thrown directly into the center of the crater.

The slumbering giant, not yet fully asleep, emits a low, rumbling sound, a constant greeting.

Having captured the perfect shots at this location, we decided to move on to another spot to capture the sunset and stars.

Awaiting the changing colors of the sky.

The Milky Way has begun to move.

The Milky Way visible to the naked eye

Thank you for sharing the universe with each other.

For our last morning, we didn't venture far, waking up at a scenic viewpoint near our hotel.

Today, there is no fog, but it is still beautiful in a different way. This is because we can see the details of the various surfaces clearly. <3

My feelings... Thank you for bringing me on this trip, even though I usually don't like taking pictures of stars, don't like sleeping little, don't like cold weather, and don't eat beef. I have to eat instant noodles. Thank you for taking me through the hardship together. Thank you for holding my hand to see the most beautiful things in my memory and being excited every time I think about it.

Summary Overview

Here is a summary of the additional information, which may be helpful to everyone.

1. The weather changes throughout the day and night: In the morning, it is quite cold with temperatures around 10 degrees Celsius, but there are strong winds. In the afternoon, it becomes warmer, but it gets cold again in the evening. Therefore, it is essential to bring many warm clothes, but you should also plan for the heat in the afternoon.

2. High dust levels: It is recommended to bring glasses or a face mask, especially when climbing to the crater rim.

3. If you need a friendly guide, send us a private message and we will provide you with contact information.

4. There are no direct flights to this destination. You will need to connect through Surabaya or Kuala Lumpur (Kuala Lumpur Airport is excellent, with plenty of food and shopping options).

5. We stayed at Bromo Permai, a hotel located on the mountain for 2500 baht per person per night (one room can accommodate 3 people). It is recommended to stay on the mountain because it is closer to the viewpoint, significantly reducing travel fatigue.

6. The food here is very cheap, but I don't eat beef and I don't like spices. I can't eat much, so I might need to bring some small chili pastes to help.

7. The cost of airport transfers, jeep rentals, and guide services is approximately 5,000 baht per person for the entire trip.

8. Horseback riding, sightseeing, and dining for 2-3 thousand baht per person.
