"Wherever we find happiness, we long to stay there forever... and pray for time to slow down."
Khaolak Laguna Resort is located on Nang Thong Beach, a landmark of Khao Lak, Takua Pa District, Phang Nga Province. This location is renowned for its beautiful beaches and romantic sunsets. Generally, the beachfront area of Khao Lak is lined with 4-5 star hotels with prices exceeding ten thousand baht per night. This is because Khao Lak is a popular destination for wealthy foreigners. Naturally, with such high prices, staying at these hotels can be difficult for ordinary wage earners. However, during the Green Season each year, hotel prices in Khao Lak drop by 30-70%. This presents an opportunity to experience hotels that are almost fully booked throughout the rest of the year.
Khaolak Laguna Resort
This is not a new, modern hotel with a contemporary design that Thais might prefer, but rather a hotel with a certain charm that we would like to experience beyond just visiting the lobby or club lounge during the day.
Upon checking in, we were busy managing our luggage and rushing to put our belongings in the room, fearing that the beautiful sky during the Green Season would not wait for us (Green Season is the monsoon season on the Andaman coast, the weather changes very quickly, especially rain clouds). However, as you can see in the picture, we managed our time quite well, and the sky was on our side this time.
Before we take a look at the rooms, let's explore the various corners of this resort in the afternoon. (Please note that check-in is available after 2 PM.)
The lobby features a classic Oriental style that is popular with foreign visitors. While teenagers may not be interested in the wood and carvings, art enthusiasts will find it visually appealing. We recommend visiting the Club Lounge in the lobby at night for a more elegant and classic experience.
Beyond the lobby, a lush and meticulously maintained garden path leads to the guest rooms and beach. A meandering stream flows through the area, crossed by charming bridges that offer picturesque photo opportunities.
The long shadows cast by the coconut trees onto the building facade in the afternoon sun create a cool visual effect.
Perhaps there is a corner that belongs to you.
Although the Main Pool is not particularly large, it is nestled against a verdant mountain backdrop, offering a constant view of lush greenery. The pool's proximity to the beach allows guests to seamlessly transition between swimming and enjoying the sunset.
The room we stayed in was a Siam Chalet.
The room's color palette, lighting, furniture, and accessories all exude a classic Oriental aesthetic, creating a sense of tranquility. Even the workspace seems conducive to focused thought, suggesting that it would be easy to generate ideas while sitting there.
Brown tiles with a golden sheen create a beautiful and classic look, contrasting with the white sanitary ware and sink.
Although it may not seem impressive, it hides small details, such as soap and shampoo. There are pictures of women bathing and washing their hair. We don't need to read to know which one is soap or shampoo.
At night
While many may choose to explore the shops and streets of #KhaoLak, we opted to capture the stunning light displays in the Lobby and Club Lounge. The interplay of light and shadow created a classic ambiance, enhancing the overall aesthetic.
Taste is subjective. There is no better or worse, only a sense of "this is what I like."
The Club Lounge's piano began to play classical music. We may not understand the notes or the melody, but we certainly enjoyed it and immersed ourselves in the atmosphere through the music and the lights.
The lounge's dim lights set the stage as the singer serenaded us with both Thai and Western classical melodies.
The drinks were recommended to our liking by the waiter and bartender.
We simply let our hearts flow with the music and the slowly flickering lights, as if time were gently slipping away, moment by moment.
Despite the classic atmosphere, the laughter of the foreign children added a touch of fun to the air.
The moon on the left side began to rise little by little. Bedtime was approaching, accompanied by the singer's thank you, and the applause of us and our foreign friends. It was a fulfilling time before sweet dreams greeted my brain as I drifted off to sleep on the soft pillow.
Good night
Good morning.

Despite staying up late, I woke up feeling refreshed and energized, with no lingering drowsiness to dampen my morning mood. I spent several hours sipping tea and coffee on the balcony, basking in the warm sunlight as it gradually streamed in, carrying with it the scent of cool morning dew and freshly brewed coffee.
Although some say "the time of happiness is short," we can still make every minute, every second, a happy one... even if we regret it and wish time would slow down... Khaolak Laguna Resort
