Gazing at the vast expanse of the forest, as far as the eye can see. Oh, how wonderful! I truly cherish moments like these. The air is so refreshing. Breathe in deeply, breathe out slowly. Breathe in deeply, breathe out slowly. Repeat. We are currently at Doi Luang Tak.

A journey to the summit of Doi Luang Tak...

From the Capital of Thailand to Tak Province

This journey begins in the bustling capital of Thailand, where the destination is the mountainous province of Tak. Tak is a frequent destination for those seeking adventure, with its numerous peaks and summits waiting to be conquered. This time, the target is Doi Luang Tak…

Upon reaching Tak province, the journey continues to Ban Tak district, culminating at the Tung Krase Municipality in Ban Tak district. This marks the end of the journey from the capital, and the true beginning of the ascent to the summit…

Upon arriving at Tung Kra Sa around 5:00 AM, I had nothing to do but wait for the morning. The guides and porters arrived around 8:00 AM. While waiting, I will explain the expenses incurred during the trip.

Guide fee: 1,000 baht per tourist, with a maximum of 10 tourists.

Porter fee 1200 baht, can carry up to 20 kilograms.

The cost of transportation to the starting point is 600 baht for a round trip, covering a distance of approximately 12 kilometers. The vehicle can accommodate 7-8 people, including luggage, and the park ranger must also be included in the headcount as they will be traveling with us.

Travel arrangements to Thung Krasae vary depending on individual locations. Food and beverage expenses should be determined by each group's preferences.

With everything in place, it's time to take action!

A photograph to commemorate the starting point of the trek.

The pickup truck specifically designed for transporting travelers brought us to the starting point of the hike around nine o'clock. The actual walking distance from the starting point to the accommodation is less than 11 kilometers, contrary to what many people have previously stated. It is approximately 8 kilometers, almost 9. Even if you include the summit, it is unlikely to reach 10 kilometers. The initial section of the trail is very easy to walk, passing through a stream bed. Although it is difficult to say for sure, there was no water today, only exposed rocks visible at intervals. There was no incline yet, so we were able to walk quickly with a brisk pace before entering the forest.

The first viewpoint is a lush and beautiful pine forest.

The lush greenery of the rainforest during the rainy season is truly breathtaking. The air is cool and refreshing, with only a few gentle inclines. The trail consists mainly of long, gradual slopes, making for a leisurely walk that doesn't require much effort. It's a truly enjoyable experience.

After a lunch break around noon, we continued our journey and soon arrived at a scenic viewpoint with pine trees in the foreground. We took a break to rest and take photos, as it wouldn't be long before we reached our campsite.

From the pine viewpoint, you will reach the cliff viewpoint before entering the banana forest through the leech thicket, and then you will arrive at the accommodation.

The scenic viewpoint on the cliff edge is the highlight of the trip. I loved it so much that I spent a long time there until the staff had to urge me to go to my accommodation first. I'll come back tomorrow, so let's go for now and come back tomorrow...

Spectacular view from the cliff

The campsite was crowded, but we managed to find a spot to pitch our tent. We planned to cook dinner and then hike to the top of the mountain for the view, but the weather had other plans. It was the rainy season, and the wind and rain arrived together, as if on cue. The wind was strong, and the rain was persistent, making it difficult to enjoy the outdoors.

A campsite where the air is cool, yet warmed by the camaraderie of fellow travelers.

In summary, after finishing dinner around 5 pm, I spent time with the wind and rain, playing with the slugs that wandered around my tent. I remained optimistic, believing that the rain would eventually stop. It did, but not until after 2 am.

There was nothing to do, so I just slept. I slept listening to the rain all night. The wind was strong, and the tent pegs came loose. I had to go out and practice again in the middle of the night. I wondered if I would see anything the next day.

The morning was calm, with a gentle breeze and cool air. Occasional drops of water splashed on my face, unsure if they were raindrops or mist, but it was refreshing nonetheless. After a hearty breakfast and lunch, I packed up my tent and headed towards Doi Luang Tak, even though I couldn't see my destination. The entire mountain and forest were shrouded in white, but I was determined to reach the summit and see what awaited me.

Nature lovers, come and enjoy the beauty of nature, take home only beautiful memories, and nature will not harm your determination. Even if it is a short time, it is enough and sufficient for what is memorable. The beauty of the mountains and forests, the scenic views, the fresh air, the fun and happiness that we have gained from being in the midst of nature are truly abundant.

And we shall meet again, oh nature...
