Surin Province is another province that many people have said, "Surin, what is there to do?" "It's not worth going." That's why I had a good idea. I wanted to know if what many people said was true. So I planned a small trip with my personal model and drove to Surin Province to see for myself if it was true, "Surin, what is there to do?" "It's not worth going."
Ready to go! The distance from Bangkok to Surin is not too far, just over 400,000 meters. It takes about half a day to drive. It's easy with someone to talk to and a reliable vehicle. Let's go!
Note: I do not recommend my itinerary, as it only covers tourist attractions. Some people may have more or fewer places to visit, depending on their preferences. This is just my style, and I like it this way.
The first place to get to know and recommend is Surin. When you arrive in Surin, you must think of the animal symbol of the city (...who knows what it is...).
Just by looking at the entrance, you can tell that this place must be related to elephants. (Elephants, elephants, elephants, have you ever seen an elephant?)
This place is called (according to the sign, haha) or Elephant Village Ta Pluang. It is a place with many elephants because from what I have seen walking around the houses in this village, every household has its own elephant. The number of tourists who visit here is not very high, they come and go, not crowded. There are many interesting elephant-related activities. I myself had the opportunity to see the mating of elephants (but I didn't have time to take a picture).
I forgot to mention that this place has an entrance fee of about 50 baht per person, if I remember correctly.
Is it worth paying the entrance fee? For me, I can say it's definitely worth it.
There is an elephant museum where you can learn about elephants. (Some of the things I learned about elephants that I've known since I was a child, I just realized here. Haha!)
The elephant show is a popular attraction for both children and adults, who enjoy watching these gentle giants perform various tricks.
The elephant said, "I know a lot, let me tell you." (Haha)
If you're brave enough, you can feed every elephant in this village. (I'm not brave enough.) (But the person in the picture is brave!)
Venturing deeper, I encountered this magnificent creature. Its beauty was breathtaking, and I felt an overwhelming sense of familiarity, as if I had seen it somewhere before. Seizing the opportunity, I struck up a conversation with its owner, hoping to uncover its origins.
The owner said that this elephant had filmed a commercial for Bia Chang. That's all it took for it to let out a long, drawn-out roar.
I inquired further about the elephant's blunted tusks. The owner informed me that they had recently been trimmed. Feeling sympathetic, I pressed for the reason behind this practice. The owner explained that trimming the tusks helps prevent pain for the elephants. As the tusks grow, their tips tend to curve inwards, causing them to press against each other and push against the elephant's gums. This can lead to tearing and injury in the gum tissue. However, the owner emphasized that proper trimming involves removing only the necessary portion, not cutting the tusks down to the base, as this can cause suffering for the elephant.
(P.S. We also learned some interesting facts!)
Moving on, the elephant village of Ban Ta Pluang offers various activities. We'll head to the next station shortly.
The castle has begun! 555 Does anyone know which castle it is?
If you don't know, I'll tell you.
Here is the nameplate: "Sri Khoraphum Stone Castle".
The castle is not very large, but it stands prominently in the center of the area. It is very beautiful. The surrounding area has been excavated and surrounded by a moat. There are many large trees.
Choose your favorite angle and find your spot.
The intricate details are truly stunning, exceeding all expectations.
This concludes our presentation with this stunning image.
Embark on a journey to the next destination.
The next station is "Phnom Svay Forest Park". When I went, it was in the evening, so the light might not be to everyone's liking. However, my partner and I were very pleased with it.
What is here? Let me explain with pictures.
There are various points as you can see. Haha.
Let's move on.
Where is the next place?
Are you curious?
If you are,
Follow me.
Here it is, a reservoir (I won't mention the name, please find out for yourself, it's not difficult, but I recommend you come and visit). Let's stop by and enjoy the chill atmosphere. As you can see in the picture, it's me and my partner, with the car I mentioned earlier. Hehe.
The atmosphere is relaxed, with comfortable temperatures and a refreshing breeze.
"A young lady sitting alone, what are you doing? Hehehe" Let me end this short review with this picture.
....Thank you friends for trying to read until the end. Thank you....
I hope everyone knows by now that the saying "Surin has nothing to offer tourists" is simply not true. I was curious, so I decided to see for myself, and I can confidently say that "Surin has a lot to offer tourists" and is "definitely worth a visit".
