Previously, we had the opportunity to review the BlueSpice & Herbs restaurant. This time, we're visiting BlueSpice Dinning Room, an all-you-can-eat rice porridge buffet with no time limit. Open from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM, the restaurant is located in the Grande Centre Point Sukhumvit 55 Hotel. It's hard to believe that a comfortable, air-conditioned environment with this type of food and unlimited time would only cost 390 baht.
Upon entering the hotel, you will immediately find the BlueSpice Dinning Room, making it very easy to locate. The spacious interior of the restaurant creates a comfortable atmosphere, making the experience of enjoying congee more pleasant than dining at a roadside stall, where you have to contend with vehicle fumes and heat.
This restaurant boasts a diverse menu, with a particular emphasis on its delectable "yams." These "yams" come in two varieties: pre-made and ready-to-serve, or as individual ingredients for self-assembly. Fear not, even the self-assembly option is a culinary delight, as the restaurant's signature "yam" sauce is pre-prepared and simply requires pouring over the ingredients. The resulting flavor is a testament to the "Color Blue" restaurant chain's culinary prowess, achieving a harmonious balance that avoids excessive sourness, saltiness, spiciness, or sweetness. Instead, the flavors blend seamlessly, creating a truly remarkable taste experience.
Next up is the hot kitchen section, where the main dishes are congee and kway chap. The ingredients are quite good, and there are also century eggs and soft-boiled eggs available for you to pick up as you please. However, the taste is rather bland, which may not suit those who are accustomed to other restaurants that are more flavorful.
In addition, you can choose various vegetables and send them to the chef to be stir-fried in the style of a rice porridge shop. You can choose what to stir-fry with, such as stir-fried vegetables with crispy pork, as well as various mushrooms that can be made into crispy fried mushrooms.
Among the ready-to-serve dishes, several stand out. The stir-fried water mimosa, for instance, boasts an impressive flavor and aroma rarely found elsewhere. The pork leg, touted as the restaurant's signature dish, is another highlight. Unlike other versions, this pork leg avoids being greasy while retaining its satisfyingly chewy texture, prompting many customers to return for more.
Since the restaurant's main selling point is its late-night rice porridge, it must offer porridge of exceptional quality. The restaurant provides three types of porridge: white rice porridge, brown rice porridge, and taro porridge.
The dessert and beverage options included refreshing treats like lodeh, lotus root, shaved ice, fruits, ice cream, bread, custard, pancakes, and much more.
Summary
Upon first hearing that it was a congee buffet, I did not expect BlueSpice Dinning Room to be like this. It was much better than I had imagined. The location is convenient, the food is delicious, and the price is reasonable. It is also open from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Despite its location in Thonglor, which is usually crowded, the restaurant was not full when I visited. This could be because it is not yet well-known. In conclusion, this is another highly recommended restaurant with affordable prices, comfortable seating, and a long dining duration.
