Hello friends, welcome back to another review of a beautiful tourist destination with PareAekTrip. Today, I will take you on a long journey from Bangkok, the City of Angels, over 600 kilometers to a tourist city on the banks of the Mekong River, a city with beautiful tourist attractions and culture. It was these attractions that drew me to drive this long distance to reach my destination. As the saying goes, "Rirk to Khemmarat Thanee," so you know how far Khemmarat, Ubon Ratchathani is.

This journey was undertaken by two of us, as usual, with our trusty Toyota Vios as our vehicle. We planned to depart from Bangkok at 10:00 PM to reach our first destination by morning. (I should mention that I prefer driving long distances at night rather than during the day because there is less traffic, allowing for faster travel times, and my eyes don't have to contend with the harsh sunlight. However, it is crucial to ensure adequate rest beforehand.) According to the map, the journey would cover approximately 600 kilometers and take around 8-9 hours at a leisurely pace. The route would take us through Saraburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, and finally into Ubon Ratchathani province. (In the Amnat Charoen section, the road becomes a long stretch of two-lane, two-way traffic, so extra caution is required due to the darkness.)

Upon checking the map, we realized we were entering Ubon Ratchathani province and not far from our destination. We decided to stop at a gas station (to wash our faces, brush our teeth, and take care of personal business) to refresh ourselves before continuing our journey. Our first destination was...

High sand beach, a tourist destination that allows us to avoid traveling far to foreign countries (Mui Ne, Vietnam)

There is a decent amount of parking space available behind this kilometer marker.

Stroll along

However, it is important to note that this location is quite a distance from the main road. Upon arrival, there did not appear to be much to see. Nevertheless, I decided to continue walking, as I had already come this far.

This is an example of sand.

The shape of the sand varies from day to day, depending on the wind. The reason we see sand like this is because the water in the river has receded, revealing a sandy beach.

We continued to stroll and enjoy the atmosphere.

The sun was strong on the day of the trip, but fortunately, we chose to go in the morning when the sun was still mild. There was also a strong wind, which made it not too hot.

Since the sun is strong, let's use the sunlight to help make the picture beautiful.

He seems to be having a lot of fun. (He can have a lot of fun because there are only two of them, so he doesn't have to be shy. Haha)

Photographers are encouraged to find their own angles and positions.

I spent some time here before continuing on to my next destination according to the program.

We stopped by to pay our respects at the temple while we were passing by.

Our second destination is Wat Phra To in Ubon Ratchathani. This temple is a spacious, peaceful, and sacred place of worship for the people of Khemmarat. If you are passing by, don't miss the opportunity to visit and pay your respects for good fortune.

In the temple, there are also places to make merit according to one's faith.

After paying respects to the Buddha for peace of mind, we continued our journey.

This place is called "Haad Chom Dao" or "Kaeng Chom Dao".

Some people might think this is Sam Phan Bok, but it's not. It just looks similar.

The Stargazing Beach boasts a vast expanse exceeding that of Sam Phan Bok. Upon reaching the pavilion serving as the parking area, visitors must embark on a nearly 1-kilometer trek to reach the highlight, or the captivating rock formations. This contrasts with Sam Phan Bok, where the rapids are readily accessible within a short walking distance. For those seeking guidance, guides are available for hire near the parking area. However, we opted for self-exploration, following the footsteps of others. It is crucial to bring ample water supplies, as the journey can be strenuous.

This place is quite beautiful. The sky is vast and magnificent. Feel free to find your favorite angle to capture its beauty.

Walking for a while might be a bit hot.

This is a stunning and unique sight, unlike anything I've ever seen before.

We spent the afternoon here, strolling and admiring the magnificent beauty.

It's time to move on. We've been traveling and are getting closer to our accommodation, but we haven't checked in yet. 555.

There is still plenty of time left, as I plan to visit the Khemmarat Walking Street. However, I arrived early and there are no vendors yet. So, I drove around and found a scenic viewpoint near the walking street. I will spend some time here to relax, enjoy the breeze, and admire the view.

Left is Thailand, right is Laos, in the middle is the Mekong River. It's very beautiful.

The distance is not important, the sign will tell you.

Expressing love across the Mekong, reaching your heart. Hehe.

After waiting for a while, I saw that the market stalls were starting to set up, so I moved my body into the market.

As the sign indicates, this is Khemmarat Thani, the Khemmarat Walking Street.

Take your time to walk around, the market is quite long.

A wide variety of local souvenirs, specialties, and food are available for purchase.

A classic, even though it's old. The atmosphere is great, I really enjoyed it.

Visitors are welcome to explore the hotel. Take a look inside and see what they have to offer. I won't spoil the surprise!

Everything has its own antiquity, which we should see as valuable and worth preserving.

As darkness falls, the crowd grows, creating a lively atmosphere.

Note:

On the night of my visit, I was fortunate to witness a vibrant festival procession in the market. The event provided an opportunity to purchase local delicacies and enjoy them while seated on mats laid out in the open space. This area also served as a stage for various performances and activities, offering a glimpse into the rich local culture. It was a truly enriching experience.

And before we part ways tonight, I have told the people of Khemmarat, the people of Ubon, the people of Thailand, and the tourists to see and know that I have arrived. @Khemmarat December 24, 2016 #PareAekTrip

Good night and sweet dreams.

Before departing from Khemmarat, I visited one more place in the morning after checking out of my accommodation. I stopped by Wat Bung Khilek to admire its beauty.

This temple has many white Buddha statues like the ones seen in the picture, beautifully lined up. Another place I recommend you visit.

It's time to say goodbye to this incredible journey to Khemmarat District (Khemarat), Ubon Ratchathani. This has been a truly special trip, and I highly recommend that all travelers make the effort to visit this beautiful city on the banks of the Mekong River.

Note: Accommodation, restaurants during the trip, fuel costs, and expenses are not mentioned here as they are highly subjective and depend on individual preferences and itineraries.
