Following the King's Footsteps at…Bang Krachao

Bang Krachao, a verdant expanse, was designated by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej as a green lung for Bangkok, providing the city with fresh air. The shape of Bang Krachao, resembling a pig's stomach, aptly reflects its role as the "lungs of Bangkok."

When visiting Khung Bang Kachao, everyone should visit the project of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the ninth king of Thailand, the "Khlong Lat Pho Drainage Gate Project", which was initiated by His Majesty to solve the problem of flooding in Bangkok. This project acts as a drainage system, reducing the time it takes to drain water into the sea in the winding Khung Bang Kachao area from the normal distance of 18 kilometers to only 600 meters.

On November 24, 2010, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the ninth king of Thailand presided over the opening ceremony of the Khlong Lat Pho Drainage Gate and the opening of the Bhumibol 1 and Bhumibol 2 bridges. All Thai people are deeply grateful for His Majesty's great kindness towards the Thai people.

Bang Krachao still has interesting stories for us to visit. The main charm of visiting Bang Krachao is cycling. For those who do not have a bicycle, don't worry, there are many shops to rent here. Or if you have a two-wheeled friend, you can take it for a ride. It's like getting a chill ride with green trees and fresh air, plus it's a good exercise. So where are we going to ride? How chill is it? Follow me to chill with Adina.

I parked my car at the Pan Kin Fa shop. The rental price is a fixed rate. I went in the afternoon and the price was 40 baht until 6 pm. It was very cheap. I checked the price and normally the whole day is 100 baht.

If you're tired from cycling, stop by the shop for a coffee break.

We then took a stroll through the Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market, where there were plenty of delicious treats to shop for, sample, and enjoy.

Stop by Ruen Nom Sod for a refreshing drink.

There are also mieng kham.

The waterfront seats offer a variety of beautiful spots to relax and enjoy the scenery.

Hungry? Stop by Baan 6/2! We offer food and drinks, conveniently located opposite Bang Nam Phueng Market.

Let's continue cycling. The path is made of concrete, not very wide, but two-way traffic is possible. The sides are lined with lush green trees, creating a very pleasant atmosphere.

We stopped by the Ban Thup Hom, where you can learn how to make incense or tie-dye fabrics. They offer classes for those who are interested.

Tie-dye fabric is also available as shirts. If you are interested, the shop has them for sale, or you can try making them yourself.

Let's continue cycling on the Emerald Green Road, cycling along the river with green trees, very chill.

A forest park with beautifully painted streets, but be careful, there are quite a few insects.

If you're looking for a delicious meal, the Pob Rak Na Bang Nam Phueng restaurant is a great option. It boasts a wonderful atmosphere.

Cycling along the Chao Phraya River

Considered a landmark of Bang Krachao, Bangkok Tree House offers accommodations and a restaurant. The atmosphere is excellent.

The seating area is divided into several zones, including an air-conditioned room and an outdoor area where you can relax and enjoy the lush greenery, living up to the venue's name.

Relaxing with a cup of coffee by the river

You can walk down to take pictures, but please be careful.

For those arriving by boat, you can come from Wat Bang Na Nok and board at the pier of Wat Bang Nam Phueng Nok.

The old ordination hall, built in the late Ayutthaya period over 300 years ago, is currently undergoing renovation and repair.

Next, we cycled to the Thai Fighting Fish Museum.

The evening stroll at Si Nakhon Park, Khon Kaen Dam.

The atmosphere inside is shady and the air is very good.

The Bridge of Khandhamarga

The original text is in Thai and translates to "The Bridge of Khandhamarga" in English.

This phrase likely refers to a specific bridge in Thailand, possibly named after the Khandhamarga, a Buddhist concept related to the five aggregates of existence.

Without further context, it is difficult to provide a more specific translation or interpretation.

On the way back, we stopped to take photos at the Bhumibol Bridge and the "Khlong Lat Pho Drainage Gate Project," a royal initiative of King Rama IX, which he bestowed upon the Thai people like us.

Watching the sunset in the evening is incredibly relaxing.
