Once a significant economic port city in Taiwan, Tamsui is located at the mouth of the Tamsui River, where the Taiwan Strait and the East China Sea meet. While its economic importance has diminished, Tamsui has emerged as a popular tourist destination. It has transformed into a seaside resort town, attracting both Taiwanese and international visitors. Reaching Tamsui is convenient, requiring only a ride on the Red Line of the MRT to the terminal station, Tamsui (R28). Upon exiting the station and turning left, visitors will find themselves at Tamsui's beachfront and seaside market.
