Pang Ung...

This refers to the "Pang Tong 2 (Pang Ung)" Royal Project, an initiative established by His Majesty the King. The project was conceived due to the area's proximity to the Burmese border, which posed security concerns.

Various armed groups are constantly engaged in the transportation and cultivation of illicit crops, as well as the encroachment and deforestation of protected areas. In response to these pressing issues, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen have initiated a royal project aimed at addressing these challenges.

To consolidate the minority groups in the area and improve their living standards, the project aims to promote afforestation and construct water reservoirs. The royal intention is to enhance border security, improve the well-being of the people, and sustainably conserve natural resources for the future.

The picturesque image of mist floating above the lake, coupled with the chilly morning atmosphere, has made Pang Ung a top tourist destination, renowned for its romantic ambiance and ranking among the most popular attractions in Mae Hong Son. It has even earned the nickname "Switzerland of Thailand."

In the morning, we planned to wake up early to offer food to monks and then take a bamboo raft to see the sunrise. However, we overslept and missed the opportunity to go on the raft. It was a pity.

The gentle morning sun in Siam, casting a soft glow through the lingering mist.

Very romantic! I thought I was on Nami Island.

The mist floating above the water is so beautiful, I wish I could stop time here forever.
