Greetings! Today, PareAekTrip will share a story about a village nestled in the mist, where the air is cool and foggy all year round. Located in Kanchanaburi, just a short drive past the city and through 399 curves, lies the charming village of E-tong. This small community, situated in Thong Pha Phum district on the Thai-Burmese border, boasts a predominantly Burmese culture. The fresh air and peaceful atmosphere make it an ideal destination for relaxation. "True relaxation," as visitors can only stroll and breathe in the invigorating air. But be warned, the journey to E-tong involves navigating 399 winding curves. Are you ready for the challenge?

The road conditions are variable, with some good stretches and others that are full of potholes and bumps. It's a fun and bumpy ride!

The road is flanked by ravines, trees, mist, rain, and stunning views. Open the windows and enjoy the cool breeze.

After a long break, we entered the Pilok Mine or Ban E-Tong, heading to our accommodation first. We stayed at the Thai-Taway Resort, a little beyond the lake, near the road leading to the neighboring country.

This area offers camping spots. Based on the numerous tents already set up, it appears that camping is free of charge.

Our accommodation for tonight is a little further past the campsite. Let's continue.

On the first day, we arrived in the late afternoon and decided to check into our accommodation to rest our legs from driving. Driving a manual transmission car (Vios MT) can be a bit tiring.

As the day cools, embark on a leisurely stroll to admire the ethereal beauty of the mist that envelops the surroundings, within reach of your fingertips. (However, avoid venturing out too late in the evening, as darkness descends swiftly.)

Follow the signs to Pilok Mine.

It is likely to be a mining tool that is still in existence, old according to its age. 555

The fog creates a pleasant and slightly surreal atmosphere.

Let us enjoy ourselves too, please. 555

This pool is fed by a natural waterfall, with crystal-clear, cool water where you can see the fish swimming. The water is incredibly clear.

Wandering around, I stumbled upon this house, which immediately caught my eye. I thought to myself, "How can I take a picture that makes it look like I'm in a European winter city?" In the end, this is all I could manage. I'm not sure if it's beautiful or to your liking.

After we've had our fill of exploring the area, let's head over to the E-Tong market for some shopping.

Follow me.

The key to visiting Ban E-Tong is to capture images like this: houses, shops, and the lake.

The photos may not be beautiful, but I took many of them. Hehehe.

This is fog, let me tell you.

Those who are interested can send it back home by post.

A gift from a neighbor.

Take a leisurely stroll and explore the market. If you're feeling hungry, there are numerous restaurants to choose from. However, the quality varies, so I can't recommend any specific ones.

Time is up, we will continue tomorrow morning.

The E-Tong market is relatively quiet in the mornings, as people are likely still enjoying the cool and comfortable weather.

The light rain is refreshing.

Our destination this morning is to walk to this bridge.

We have arrived at the bridge to let the world know that we have reached our destination, as per the agreed time and date. 555

We have finally arrived! 555

Unlike others who tie their lanterns to bridges, we choose to let ours float freely in the lake of Baan E-Tong. 55

This concludes my review of E-Tong (Thong Pha Phum). It's important to note that there are many other scenic viewpoints and attractions in the surrounding area. Visitors can choose to drive themselves or rent a car through their resort. In my case, I rented a car on the second day to explore a specific location off-road, following the footsteps of a couple who made a promise to each other. I will share more details about this location in my next review. For now, I bid farewell to E-Tong.

I'm leaving now.
