Over the past few years, stage shows have flourished in Thailand. KAAN Show, presented by Singha Corporation, is one of the most talked-about productions. This spectacular show draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Thai literature, promising a truly awe-inspiring experience. Currently, tickets are available at a 40% discount until March 31, 2018. The show takes place at the Singha D'Luck Cinematic Theatre in Pattaya, making it a perfect stop for those visiting the popular seaside resort.

From Bangkok, the City of Angels, head towards the Motorway (Highway 7) for a distance of 150 kilometers, taking approximately 2 hours. Then turn onto Sukhumvit Road and pass through the tunnel at Pattaya Klang Intersection. Continue straight through Pattaya Tai Intersection before turning right onto Thepprasit Road. In a short while, you will find the entrance to the theater.

This is my first time here. The theater is magnificent and imposing.
The staff and security guards were very helpful, directing us to the parking lot at regular intervals.
The parking lot is spacious and grand, and there is even an electric tram that takes you from the parking lot to the front of the theater, so you don't have to walk (the tram is super cute, by the way).

Disembarking from the royal carriage, those who have reserved tickets can collect them, while those who have not yet reserved but wish to purchase tickets can head straight to the Ticket Office.
The interior is incredibly opulent, decorated with bookshelves as far as the eye can see. It must be related to the storyline.
Wow, the souvenirs are so cute and tempting to buy.
Uh... wait a minute, let's get the tickets first.
"The performance will not have narration, please read the story description before entering," the ticket officer advised, handing over the reserved tickets along with a cute little brochure.
"You can also show your performance ticket to receive a 10% discount on food at the Greyhound Cafe in front of the theater," he added.

KAAN Show: A Spectacular Show Inspired by the Wonders of Thai Literature. This captivating tale follows Kaan, a young boy who receives a mysterious book with his name on the cover from a librarian. Upon opening the book, Kaan is transported into the world of Thai literature, where he embarks on thrilling adventures alongside his winged monkey companion, Kobilpaksa. Their quest involves finding a key that will return Kaan to reality. The show promises an exciting and immersive experience.

The show will begin in 10 minutes. Please take your seats.
The show will start on time as scheduled.
Inside the theater, there is a Snack Bar serving snacks. The waiting area and restrooms are clean and fragrant with the scent of Thann.
For those with luggage, there is a Bag Deposit counter available.
The ticket checking process is simple. Just tap your ticket on the yellow scanner and proceed to your reserved seating zone. Staff are available to assist you along the way. You won't miss your seat.

The performance began with the singing of the Royal Anthem, followed by an announcement of the etiquette guidelines for the audience. Cheering and clapping were permitted, but the use of mobile phones was strictly prohibited, except for taking photographs (without flash). The audience was also encouraged to share their experience on social media. Interestingly, this show not only allowed photography but actively encouraged it, with the hope that the audience would share their photos widely.

Act I: "Literary Dimensions" takes place in a library. (Ah, no wonder the Ticket Office is decorated as a bookshelf.) Kan receives a book with his name on the cover from the librarian. He opens the book and is sucked into the world of stories and characters in Thai literature, along with his partner, 'Kabilpak', a winged monkey.

Act II: "The Wrathful Butterfly"

This act presents a scene from the Thai literary classic, "Phra Aphai Mani."

The act opens spectacularly with the flight of Kan and Sudsakorn, riding the mythical steed Nilamangkorn, descending from the heavens to aid Phra Aphai Mani in his battle against the sea butterfly, Nang Phra Phi Sua Samut.

How do Kan and Garuda subdue the wrathful butterfly? This remains a mystery for now…

Act III, "Paromot Himmapan," presents a tale from the literary work "Kinnaree." This act opens with a spectacle that rivals the previous acts, showcasing the vibrant colors and wonders of the Himmapan forest before the hunters capture the Kinnaree. How do Kan and Kobilpak help the Kinnaree escape the clutches of the hunters? We won't tell you! 555

Act Four, "Asura's Fury," presents a scene from the literary work "Manimekhala and Ravana." The act opens spectacularly from the heavens (again!) with the captivating beauty of Manimekhala before Ravana strikes down Asura with a furious thunderbolt. Garuda and Khana, yes, yes, how will they subdue Ravana? Shh...

Act V: "Ruchana's Gamble"

This act draws inspiration from the literary work "The Jungle Boy."

The scene opens with a grand parade of princes from various kingdoms, arriving to participate in a trial by chance to win the hand of Princess Ruchana. However, their festivities are disrupted by the monstrous Ramad, who throws the event into chaos.

The question remains: how will Kan and the monkey warriors subdue Ramad? And will the Jungle Boy finally shed his form and claim Ruchana as his bride? Stay tuned for the thrilling conclusion!

Act VI, "The Subjugation of the Serpent King," presents a scene from the literary work "Kraithong." The act opens with water sprites (soap bubbles) shimmering throughout the theater, amidst giant aquatic creatures swimming and the Serpent King's wives dancing seductively. The scene of Kraithong swimming down to the Serpent King's cave to rescue Kan and the frog prince is particularly impressive. Ah! But how did Kraithong manage to save Kan and the frog prince from the clutches of the Serpent King? Let's just say it's thrilling!

Kahn and the Garuda managed to subdue the villains five times, collecting the necessary components to assemble the key that would return him to reality. However, the Garuda swatted Kahn's hand away as he was about to unlock the key, causing a dimensional shift that led to the next act.

Act VII: "The Arrogance of Ravana" presents a story from the literary work "Ramayana".
This act opens amidst the millennial war between Rama and Ravana.
If Kan offers the "key" that completes all the pieces to Rama, Ravana will be defeated, but Kan will be trapped in the world of literature forever.
How can Kan and Garuda help Rama defeat Ravana without using the key? So cool!

Act VIII: "The Hero Within"

The scene unfolds in the library, once again. Kan awakens to reality, his partner, Kan Bilpaksa, now a lifeless doll. As he contemplates their incredible adventure, a series of notifications ping on his phone. Images captured on his camera during their journey flash before his eyes.

The question remains: was it all real, or merely a dream?

The show concluded with a resounding applause, leaving a lasting impression on the audience. As the announcer's voice echoed once more, the actors gathered on the lower level to allow the audience to capture the moment with their cameras. The overwhelming popularity of the play extended to all characters, not just the lead role of Kobil Paksa.

Before leaving the theater, adorable souvenirs await us to shop and support our nation once again.

Emerging from the theater at night, the building's facade is illuminated with vibrant colors, making it stand out even more. It's a captivating sight, tempting one to capture the moment in a photograph as a lasting memory.

The royal carriage awaited our return to the parking lot. Was everything that happened real, or just a dream?
