M A C A U trip : EPISODE 1
---------------
A trip waiting for friends.
We only had four hours to explore Macau.
We arrived at Macau Airport around 10 am, before my friend who flew in later in the afternoon.
Book a 0 baht ticket at that time. Round trip Bangkok-Macau is about 1500 baht. Win clear.
TIME : We have a total of 4 hours (10:00-14:00) before meeting our friends and taking a boat to HONGKONG.
Trip duration: 3 days 2 nights
This trip was more rushed than a ten-minute tour bus ride.
-------------------------------------------
I have very little memory of this trip.
But I tried to filter it out from my cerebral cortex.
As much as possible, I got this much.
Is it useful? I don't think so... Let's go on a field trip!

Macau: A Journey from Airport to Venetian
Macau, comprised of two islands, Taipa and Macau, is connected by a bridge spanning approximately 5 kilometers.
Tourist Attractions:
- Taipa Island: Landmark destinations include Senado Square, Ruins of St. Paul's, and St. Dominic's Church.
- Macau Island: The renowned Venetian casino is a popular attraction.
Transportation:
- Free shuttle buses operate between casinos and the airport. Public buses and taxis are also available.
Our Free Journey:
Exiting immigration, we ventured out of the airport, turning right and walking along the road for about 200 meters. A vast parking lot filled with buses came into view.
Scanning for the word "Venetian" displayed on the buses, we easily located our ride. After confirming with the driver, we boarded and chose our seats.
After a short journey, we arrived at the Venetian.
Walk around the survey.
Evokes a similar atmosphere to the Venetian in Las Vegas.
There are non-free blood services along the river, the water is crystal clear.
The Venetian is a beautiful resort with a wide variety of activities, restaurants, shopping, and casinos.
We walked around taking photos for a while, but not for long because we were in a hurry.
Before leaving the hotel.
-------------------------
We walked along the street, waiting for the bus to take us across to Macau.
Along the way, there were various shopping malls and beautiful hotels.
The bus stop has detailed information.
----------------------------------------
We waited at Senado Square for a bus, and it didn't take long for one to come along.
Let's go!
-----------------------------
The bus is comfortably convenient.
We soon arrived at Macau Island after a short ferry ride.
The atmosphere evokes a European feel, with signage also featuring Portuguese.
Okay, okay, China can't speak, and I don't know Portuguese. Oh, no!
We got off the bus at Senado Square.
Just cross the street and you'll be there.
---------------------------------------------
Click! One photo.
Senate Square
A diverse group of people of all ages pose for photos in various positions.
Couples, families, individuals, couples, and groups.
------------------------------------------
A must-visit landmark for everyone.
There are vendors selling goods along the way.
Fruits, coffee shops, and affordable cosmetics are all available here.
The path leading to the remains of the church gate
Along the way, there are stalls selling various goods in the alleys, similar to a flea market, in almost every alleyway.
It gives a different feeling.
After walking for a while, we arrived at the Ruins of St. Paul's.
--------------------------------------------
St. Paul's Church was built in 1580 and was destroyed by fire 15 years later.
Six years later, the church was again destroyed by fire and underwent several years of repairs before being almost completely restored. In 1835, a typhoon struck Macau, causing the church to be burned down for the third time, leaving only the front entrance wall standing.
The final major restoration in 1991 revealed the beautiful church walls that we see today.
We took a break at the top to avoid overexerting our calf muscles.
--------------------------------------
The atmosphere above is excellent, with many tourists coming to relax and take pictures.
-----------------------------------
The Ruins of St. Paul's
Admission Fee: Free
Opening Hours: 24 hours
Directions: Take bus routes 3, 3X, 4, 6A, 8A, 18A, 19, 26A, 33, or N1A to Senado Square. From there, follow the signs for the Ruins of St. Paul's to reach the site.
After sitting for a while, it was approaching noon and our stomachs began to rumble. We decided to walk down to find something to eat nearby.
--------------------------------------------
There are many food vendors around the Ruins of St. Paul's.
-------------------------------
We ordered meatballs and smoothies from this shop. They were delicious.
Our stomachs full, we continued our walk, our eyelids growing heavy in the cool evening air.
----------------------------------------------
We retraced our steps to find the next landmark.
-------------------------------
The streets were intermittently crowded with people. If you're looking for cosmetics, souvenirs, or masks, you can find them here.
We soon arrived at St. Dominic's Church after a short walk.
----------------------------
** **
St. Dominic's Church
--------------------------
The church was built in 1587 by three Spanish priests who traveled from Mexico to spread their faith. It features 17th-century Baroque architecture, blending Portuguese and Spanish styles, which retains its original beauty.
The interior is stunningly beautiful.
--------------------------------
You can walk up to the upper floor of the church.
----------------------------------------
A steady stream of tourists visited the site.
---------------------------------
This photo evokes a sense of a spirit photograph. I like…
--------------------------------
It's time to return to Taipa Island.
-------------------------------
Despite the challenges, we continued to capture photos along the way.
Along the way
------------
You have rested your eyes.
--------------------------
Stroll leisurely.
-------------
We came across
-----------------------
INSTITUTE FOR CIVIC AND MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS
The Macau Municipal Office is written in Portuguese, which is similar to Spanish, a language we are somewhat familiar with.
Macau, one of the first cities to be colonized by the Portuguese, who settled there in the 16th century, was only recently returned to China in 1999.
------------------------------------------
This has resulted in Macau becoming a special administrative region alongside Hong Kong, governed under the "one country, two systems" framework conceived by former Chinese leader Deng Xiaoping.
Although Macau is no longer a Portuguese colony today,
However, Portuguese remains the official language and the language that continues to influence the people of Macau.
This includes various structures and road signs.
----------------------------------------
Take the bus back to the Venetian via the same bridge that connects the two islands.
--------------------------------------
We will soon arrive at the Venetian.
Beyond the partition lies a bustling legal casino, teeming with patrons.
--------------------------------------
We strolled around waiting for our friend there.
A must-try in Macau: the irresistible egg tarts.
Exquisitely delicious. Priced at 10 MOP per piece.
Our friends soon arrived at the Venetian.
We took another 'free' shuttle bus from the Venetian's West lobby, which runs between the Venetian and the Macau Taipa Ferry Terminal.
We purchased our tickets and entered the gate, waiting for the staff to call us before the boat arrived at the pier.
After a brief respite for our calf muscles, we boarded the boat and promptly succumbed to seasickness. Oh, the agony!
This trip barely had any time to relax and talk to myself, but! It gave me a different kind of feeling.
-----------------------------------------
Ticket Price: MACAU - HONGKONG
Economy Class HKD153
Super Class HKD315
Travel time: 50-60 minutes
We don't need to think too much, just choose Economy class, right? But on the way back, there was something that made us have to upgrade to Super class, which is twice as expensive. Hmm... I'm about to cry.
------------------------------------------
Deception
- Public buses board at the front and exit at the rear. Please have exact change as there are no refunds.
- All Hotel Buses are free of charge. It is recommended to travel by this bus as it is free of charge.
- Macau's internet is very small, and there are SIM cards that work in both Macau and Hong Kong, but I don't recommend using public Wi-Fi. There are many free Wi-Fi hotspots available.
- Must-try egg tarts!
- Ferries can also make us dizzy. If you get seasick, bring seasickness medication with you.
