We will begin our journey at Don Mueang Airport, where I, Ling, have already secured tickets thanks to booking them in advance. This allowed us to keep the cost relatively low, as this trip is a budget-friendly "one-day trip" with a limited timeframe. I booked the tickets through "Traveloka," which offered a reasonable price. So, if you're ready, let's embark on our adventure!

  • The monkey brother used the @NOKAIR airline boeng 737-800 flight DD-8314 to travel on this trip. It took only 1.10 minutes to walk to Chiang Mai Airport safely. After that, the monkey brother walked to the front of the airport to take a pink van.
  • Pink Songthaew Route 10: Exploring Chiang Mai City and Beyond

The pink songthaew, a popular mode of transportation in Chiang Mai, offers a convenient and affordable way to explore the city and its surrounding areas. Route 10, in particular, provides a comprehensive tour of Chiang Mai, picking up passengers at the airport every 30 minutes and running throughout the city.

For a mere 20 baht, passengers can hop on and off the songthaew at any point within the city center, allowing them to visit various attractions and experience the local culture. After completing the city loop, the songthaew continues its journey to the renowned hot springs in San Kamphaeng, offering a chance to relax and rejuvenate in the therapeutic waters.

This combined itinerary provides a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the vibrant city life of Chiang Mai and then escape to the tranquility of the surrounding nature. The pink songthaew, with its distinctive color and convenient route, serves as an ideal starting point for exploring the diverse offerings of this captivating region.

  • Before boarding the van, you need to contact the San Kamphaeng Hot Spring Van Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/Van.Hotsprings/) to arrange the pick-up time. The roundtrip fare is 300 baht per person. Once you arrive at the designated meeting point, the van will take you to the San Kamphaeng Hot Spring. From there, a local villager will be waiting to transport you to Mae Kampong Village. Alternatively, you can contact the local villager directly before your trip.

  • Our driver safely transported us to Mae Kampong Village. The route was not difficult, but caution was required. My companions stayed overnight, so I departed first. If the opportunity arises, I will return to spend the night and witness the sunrise at Kiw Mae Pan.
  • The first place I wanted to visit after getting off the bus was Uncle Putt and Aunt Paeng's shop. I heard that the coffee was delicious and the view behind the shop was beautiful, especially the wall in front of the shop. Everyone who came by had to stop and take a picture.
  • The monkey then walked past the Doi Cat Gallery, stopping in for a quick look as it was short on time. It admired the various products that the shop had on display for tourists, including a wide selection of children's and adult clothing to welcome visitors.
  • An army marches on its stomach. Let's eat delicious and clean Maenian Nam Ngiao at a reasonable price.

  • The next point someone suggested is that if you want to go up to The Giant, you should find four or five friends and split the cost of the car. This way, you can save money. Normally, it costs 500 baht per person to go up, but if you split it, it will only cost 100 baht per person. This is a good option because it is both fun and economical.

  • Continuing from the previous post, after walking for a while, we hurried down because we were running out of time. So I asked the driver to stop at the Sawang Kata shop for us to take some photos. On the way up, I had the chance to talk to the two girls, and I must say that travel really creates beautiful friendships. The two girls were very friendly and talked to us the whole time, both on the way up and down. Since the three of us hit it off, we had to take a souvenir photo to remember the occasion.
  • All good things must come to an end. After the party, everyone went their separate ways and boarded the buses that our guide had arranged. As we boarded the bus, we saw a mix of Thai and foreign tourists returning together. I had the opportunity to sit next to a young man, and we shared our experiences of Mae Kampong. As I mentioned before, travel creates friendships and new connections. I am grateful for the opportunity and the wonderful time I had in Mae Kampong. It was truly an unforgettable experience. I will definitely be back for a second visit to Mae Kampong. P.S. Before I end, I would like to ask all tourists to be mindful of nature and to avoid picking flowers just for the sake of a beautiful photo. By doing so, we can ensure that the natural beauty of Mae Kampong will be preserved for future generations.
