Hinoki Land: A Slice of Japan in Thailand

Hinoki Land, the first and only Hinoki wood kingdom in Thailand, has emerged as a new tourist destination offering an authentic Japanese experience. Located in Chaiprakarn District, Chiang Mai, this 83-acre site recreates the atmosphere of Japan with remarkable accuracy.

Opened on October 4, 2018, Hinoki Land boasts giant red lanterns reminiscent of Tokyo's Asakusa Temple and the iconic red Torii gates mirroring Kyoto's Fushimi Inari Shrine. These elements, along with numerous other structures, meticulously maintain the essence of Japanese design and architecture.

The highlight of this location is the four-story Hinoki Castle, constructed entirely from fragrant wood. Its grandeur and beauty are complemented by the refreshing natural surroundings, typical of Chiang Mai province. The castle offers numerous photo opportunities, and visitors can even rent kimonos and yukatas to enhance their photo sessions.

Hinoki: A Journey to the Fragrant House

This passage describes a journey to Hinoki, a fragrant house located in Chaiprakarn, Thailand. The traveler, referred to as "พี่ลิง" (Brother Monkey), flew from Don Mueang Airport to Chiang Mai International Airport on Nok Air, a domestic airline. Upon arrival, they took a red songthaew (shared taxi) to Chang Phuak Bus Terminal for 100 baht.

At the bus terminal, they inquired about the bus schedule to Chaiprakarn and Ban Mai Hom (Fragrant House). The staff recommended taking the first bus to Chaiprakarn at 5:30 AM, as the journey takes almost three hours. The fare was 70 baht per person.

To prepare for the early departure, Brother Monkey found nearby accommodation. As a solo traveler, they enjoyed the flexibility of choosing their own food and lodging. The evening before the trip, they settled into their room, ready for the early morning adventure.

The first step that arrived, I must say, is very impressive. In just one month, everyone is talking about Hinoki Land, a new landmark in Chaiprakarn District, Chiang Mai Province. The giant red lanterns are like hosts welcoming tourists from all over Thailand and abroad. Everyone can't help but take pictures as a souvenir. Looking to the left of the entrance, you will find two handsome and gentle officers who are ready to announce and welcome tourists. If you have any questions, you can ask them. Judging from the pictures, there is no need to talk at all. Both children and adults want to visit. Let's go inside without delay.

If you're passing by, don't forget to stop by and rent a kimono to take photos. There will be many young women, all of whom are #cute, waiting to welcome you and offer advice to tourists. After you've got your outfit, go ahead and take some amazing photos!

The graceful arch of the tunnel is said to bring good luck and fortune to those who pass through it, according to an ancient legend. This belief has been passed down through generations, and the tunnel remains a popular destination for those seeking good fortune. The tunnel is also said to have healing powers, and it is believed that passing through it can cure illnesses.

This building houses exhibits on the production of mattresses, pillows, soap bars, liquid soap, and shampoo, all of which are available for purchase. There is also a room where visitors can try out the mattresses. For tourists who wish to purchase items to take home, Hinoki offers a delivery service. It's worth noting that their products are of exceptional quality and are priced accordingly. #Good things aren't cheap, cheap things aren't good#

According to local lore, if you visit Hinoki Land and don't try their ice cream cones, it's as if you never came. So, I decided to give it a try, and let me tell you, the first taste was a revelation. The sweet, creamy, and flavorful ice cream was absolutely delightful. At only 30 baht per cone, you can choose between green tea and vanilla flavors. Additionally, the building offers freshly brewed coffee and cakes in another section.

Each image truly captures the joy of the experience, whether individuals, groups, or families. Everyone is beaming with smiles. #Who is that person in the center of the group?#

The majestic Hinoki Castle stands tall and proud, resembling a mighty lion amidst a vast forest. My visit coincided with a Sunday, resulting in a larger-than-usual crowd. Undeterred, I embarked on my ascent, determined to reach the summit. While an elevator is available for the elderly, children, and women, I, as a young man, embraced the challenge and conquered the height with fearless strides.

Ascending to the top, visitors will encounter a revered statue of Guan Yin, the Goddess of Mercy, and a majestic Buddha statue, where they can pay their respects and seek blessings.

Standing atop the building, one can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area, offering breathtaking vistas in all directions.

The rear of the property features a parking lot, with an additional 40 rai of land available and several unfinished buildings.

The area surrounding the large fish pond is another popular spot for tourists to take photos. The view is expansive and offers a breathtaking panorama.

A sign prohibiting walking across the field is visible throughout the area. Please, tourists, if you follow the rules and listen to the instructions of the officials, we will have a beautiful green lawn all year round. It is a pleasure to see.

After walking for a while, my stomach started to growl. Fortunately, Hinoki has a large dining room that can accommodate 100-200 tourists. You can exchange coupons for food. The restaurant offers a variety of dishes, including pork leg rice, various noodles, and much more. Drinks are also available. The prices here are surprisingly affordable and the food is delicious.

In conclusion, I walked from morning till evening, and although I usually tire easily, this trip was different. I felt refreshed and invigorated with every step, and the scenery was breathtaking. I will definitely return, as there is still much to see. The owner of the establishment should continue to develop new exhibition buildings for us to visit. I would like to express my gratitude to the owner for their dedication and investment, which has created job opportunities for local residents and contributed to the community's prosperity. You are a visionary leader, and I wish you, your family, and your business continued success. See you on my next trip!
