Table by the window at Tenya

Last Wednesday, I went to the cinema to watch a movie that was about to be taken off the screens. I rushed to Major Cineplex Pinklao, but the movie was no longer showing. I crossed the street to Central Pinklao, where the movie was still playing. I was starting to get hungry, so I quickly booked tickets for the 8:30 pm show. It was 7:30 pm at the time, so I asked the ticket booth staff if the movie trailers would last 15 minutes. They said it would be 20 minutes, which gave me some time to grab some food.

The original plan was to eat at MK, but the MK on the 5th floor was closed. I walked around and ended up in front of Chester's Grill. I noticed a new restaurant that I had never been to before. I took a closer look and saw that they were selling pork belly rice, which I usually eat with beef. However, this restaurant didn't have beef. But the food they were serving looked delicious, so I went in even though I didn't know the name of the restaurant.

Upon taking a seat, I inquired with the waiter about the wait time for food, as I had a movie to catch. He assured me it wouldn't be long. Glancing briefly at the menu, I opted for the set promotion: pork rice and pork tenderloin tempura, accompanied by miso soup and a choice of beverage. Opting for efficiency, I chose the iced green tea. The waiter confirmed my order and informed me that the food would be ready in approximately 8 minutes.

Visually Appealing Menu

The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and is a comfortable place to sit. The menu features a wide variety of tempura dishes. After reviewing the menu, I ordered green tea, which was served promptly. However, the rice did not arrive for 10 minutes. I continued to wait, watching the clock and observing other patrons. Finally, at nearly 8:20 pm, the rice was served.

Let's not waste any time eating. Looking at the pork rice and tempura pork that were served, I felt a little disappointed because the bowl was very small, more like a cup. The pork rice looked dry, with almost no pork broth poured over it. The tempura pork looked decent, with a little sauce drizzled on the front, but it wasn't enough to satisfy my hunger. The miso soup was normal, with a salty and savory flavor that was delicious and easy to drink.

Miso Soup

Let's start eating. I first picked up a thin slice of pork and took a bite. Personally, the taste was very bland, almost non-existent. I tried to find the soup that was poured over it to add some flavor, but it didn't improve much. I also tried the tempura pork, but I have to say that it tasted more like flour than pork. The batter itself was crispy and delicious, but the pork flavor was barely noticeable. The sauce poured over the tempura pork was also too little to absorb any flavor.

At first, I was worried that I was late and wouldn't be able to finish my meal. But seeing the size of the cup, I wasn't worried anymore. I finished it in a few gulps and then had a sip of green tea. I grabbed the bill, paid at the counter, and walked out of the restaurant. I glanced at Chester's Grill and suddenly craved their chili sauce. Why didn't I turn in?
