From what I understand, the international balloon show features a variety of colorful balloons floating in the sky, creating a grand and spectacular sight. The giant balloon event seems intriguing. I would love to see it. I have always enjoyed playing with balloons since I was a child. In fact, I believe that all children enjoy playing with balloons.
The official name of this event is the Singha Park Chiangrai International Balloon Fiesta 2018, and this is the third time it has been held.

We booked a super cheap flight ticket for a whole year in advance because we already knew the date and time of the event. It is always held during the Valentine's Day festival, so don't think too much, book it first, and then decide whether you are free or not on the day of the event.
Upon arrival at the designated date and time, we found ourselves at Singha Park, Chiang Rai. The event spanned from February 14th to 18th, 2018, coinciding with Valentine's Day. The park was teeming with couples, both romantic and platonic, creating a heartwarming atmosphere.
We arrived at around 2 pm, but the event didn't actually start until almost 6 pm. You see, before we came, we asked people who had been there before, and they told us to come early because the traffic would be bad if we came later. So we believed them and came early… and ended up waiting around, getting bored.
It's good to arrive early. I can walk around and enjoy the atmosphere of the event preparation, sit and listen to the sound check on the main stage, and look around at everything. There's still plenty of time. Actually, the sun is very hot. After walking around for a while, I have to sit down and rest. In short, I bought an ice cream and sat down to eat it, waiting for it for two hours straight, comfortably...
At approximately 5 pm, an announcement was made over the loudspeaker by a field announcer, outlining the schedule of events. It was then discovered that this was not just a hot air balloon display, but also a competition. There were 35 balloons from over 10 countries participating in a competition where objects were thrown from the balloons by the pilots, who were stationed at bases. Points were awarded and prizes were given. It was an enlightening experience.
After changing positions several times, the sun was setting and the breeze was cool, so we went out to take pictures of the flower field that Singha Park had prepared to welcome tourists. I forgot to mention that there were a lot of people coming in, but not too many yet. There were still gaps for taking pictures and the atmosphere was starting to get lively...
The clock was nearing six. The announcer's voice boomed, "Let the competition begin!" A whooshing sound filled the air as gas was pumped into a giant balloon, sending it soaring into the sky. The atmosphere was electric with excitement. This was the moment they had all been waiting for.
A kaleidoscope of giant balloons, both plain and cartoon-shaped, bloomed and swelled, vying for attention with their vibrant colors and adorable designs. The bold hues contrasted sharply with the twilight sky, creating a captivating spectacle. The thrill lay in maneuvering the balloons towards their designated targets, with helpers tugging and pulling, sometimes even sending them careening into the crowd, eliciting shrieks of laughter and delight. The lively commentary further amplified the excitement of the competition.
The competition concluded after approximately one hour. The announcer declared that there would be another round of balloon shows at 8 pm. This time, it would be a light, sound, and music show without any competition. Hmm, let's wait and see. In the meantime, we can grab something to eat, listen to music, and enjoy the evening atmosphere. It must be said that the crowd is enormous right now. People are pouring in, and there are a lot of them...
The night sky illuminated with a dazzling display of light and sound as giant balloons lit up the evening sky shortly after 8 pm, following the final song by singer Bee Peerapat. The captivating show showcased a mesmerizing interplay of colors, lights, and music, creating a truly enchanting atmosphere. The cool evening air added to the enjoyment of the spectacle, which concluded after a brief but captivating performance. The balloons will return to perform again tomorrow, continuing their nightly spectacle.
It's time to say goodbye. We're heading home feeling like it was fun, really fun. It was colorful, or maybe it made us feel like kids again. Thank you to Singha Park for putting on such a great event. We hope to have the opportunity to come again next year.
