I think of Wild Himalayan Cherry blossom all of a sudden while I am going through old photos.
Therefore, I think it is a good day today for me to tell you the story of my journey, to find Wild Himalayan Cherry blossom that I am passionate about and always think of.

Prunus cerasoides

Or known as Wild Himalayan Cherry

It is of the family Japanese cherry, Rosaceae, peach, cherry, and plum. They are all in the genus Prunus.

Wild Himalayan Cherry can be found in a high mountain in Thailand. It grows best in a cold weather high up from 1,200 – 2,000 meters above sea level. The higher and colder where it is, the more blossom Wild Himalayan Cherry gives.

There are numbers of places in Thailand where we can go and see Wild Himalayan Cherry blossom.

It is both in the North and Northeast such as Doi Pha Tang, Phu Chi Fa, Doi Ang Khang, Doi Inthanon, Khun Mae Ya, and Khun Chang Khian.

But the place where I love the most to see Wild Himalayan Cherry blossom is Paphiopedilum Orchid Conservation Center.

Paphiopedilum Orchid Conservation Center offers such a beautiful landscape to see Wild Himalayan Cherry blossom. The flowers bloom by the lake and among Khasiya Pines. That's why this place never let you down.

It is about 3 hours to get to Paphiopedilum Orchid Conservation Center by car from downtown Chiang Mai.

From Highway no. 108, you need to turn left to Doi Inthanon. Then it will be about half way to reach Doi Inthanon where you need to turn right to Mae Wang District.

This route is very scenic. It will be on a mountain slope through pine forest and Chrysanthemums farm. And if you are lucky enough with the date and time, you will see Wild Himalayan Cherry blossom once in a while along the way.

The real charm of Wild Himalayan Cherry blossom is when the whole tree turns pink. However, it will last for 7 - 10 days only.

Then the cherry blossom petals will begin to fall off the tree and new leaves start to grow.

And once all of the cherry blossom petals fall off the tree, the tree will start to turn green once again.

Therefore, it is not wrong to say that Wild Himalayan Cherry blossom is difficult to see because of the limited time and specific location.

Peak Bloom lasts for only 10 days and only high up in the mountain.

We can also say that the difficulty in planning a trip is another charm of a journey to see Wild Himalayan Cherry blossom.

Let's go and explore the place!

This pink paradise is totally amazing. There is a small lake in the hug of the mountains and there is a walking path around it.

It is about 1,500-meter high from sea level here.

The weather is very nice with a light cold wind most of the time. It can be very cold as well. Sometimes it is cold enough that you need to wear a thick jacket.

What we see in front of us is in pink. Wild Himalayan Cherry grows one after another with its peak bloom all around the area.

Everyone is happy and wear a big smile on their faces.

I can't help but think of the heaven as this place also makes people happy.

Yes, I am taking about the real heaven where all the angels and faeries live.

But this one is a heaven on earth.

Have you ever heard that angels and faeries don't need to eat at all because they are always full with happiness.

I feel the same way right now. I keep taking photos and forget about my hunger.

Let me show you my heaven on earth!

All photos in this travel blog are my good memory that always brings back my good old happiness when I look through them.

And I am looking forward to seeing the pink Wild Himalayan Cherry blossom at Paphiopedilum Orchid Conservation Center once again.

I will see you again in six months, Wild Himalayan Cherry blossom.

Lastly, I wish you all the greatest happiness.

May the nature fill up your life energy and purify your mind forever!
