Hello everyone! This is our second trip review. We will take you to relax and unwind at The For Rest Resort in Kanchanaburi. Our first trip was to Pang Ung - Ban Rak Thai (https://th.readme.me/p/14795). If you are interested, you can go back and read it. Thank you for your support. :D
Our journey was entirely reliant on public transportation, as we did not have access to a private vehicle. Consequently, the trip involved multiple transfers, which may have extended the travel time.
Let's get straight to the point! This time, we decided to take a short and relaxing trip, so we ended up in Kanchanaburi. We wanted to change our scenery and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine. We chose to visit The For Rest Resort, located near Kaeng Jao Intersection on the way to Thong Pha Phum. The resort is a 20-minute drive beyond the Khao Khad viewpoint, past Sai Yok Yai and Sai Yok Noi waterfalls. We went in late February, and the weather was pleasant, although the morning sun was quite strong. Fortunately, there was a constant breeze, so it wasn't too hot.
Day 1
We set off early in the morning, taking a taxi to Mo Chit 2. Then we walked around looking for a van to Kanchanaburi. It was located in the middle of Mo Chit 2, behind the food court. As soon as we found it, we rushed to buy tickets. The tickets cost 120 baht each. The van took us directly to the Kanchanaburi bus terminal.
We have tickets for the 8:30 AM bus. It will arrive at Kanchanaburi Bus Terminal around 11:00 AM, with a travel time of approximately 3 hours.
Upon arriving at Kanchanaburi Bus Terminal, we had lunch to avoid getting hungry during the subsequent bus ride to Kaeng Jao Intersection.
After searching for a while, I found a van stop with dark glass windows. There were vans from Kanchanaburi Bus Terminal to Kaeng Jao Intersection. The van that will take us to our destination must be the one that says it goes to Thong Pha Phum, as Kaeng Jao Intersection is located before Thong Pha Phum.
We have tickets for the 12.10 pm show. The tickets cost 115 baht each.
When it's time for the bus to leave, the driver will call you to board the bus.
After a long journey, we arrived at our destination. The driver, a kind old man, stopped at the Kaeng Jor intersection and let us off. As we stepped out, we saw a large sign at the entrance of the alleyway that read "Wat Wang Phra Wiwek Wanaram".
Upon arrival, I immediately contacted the resort to arrange for pick-up. They offer a convenient pick-up and drop-off service, so there's no need to worry about transportation.
This is the resort's car, used to pick up and drop off guests.
(Pick-up and drop-off only at the entrance of the resort.)
We have arrived at the resort. There is a raft area where we can sit and float down the river, and there is also a swimming pool. However, most people prefer to go rafting.
The place is teeming with adorable goslings.
Upon arriving at the resort, I immediately sought out the check-in area. Eager to drop off my luggage and dive into the water, I followed the signs. The check-in point is located down a staircase near the floating platform. After turning right and continuing along the path, you will encounter the buffet line. Look beyond it, and you will find the check-in desk.
Accommodation Fees:
- Monday - Thursday: 1,000 Baht/person

(This price includes accommodation, dinner and breakfast buffet, and raft trip.)

I encountered a younger sibling who was playing, so I decided to join them for a bit. 5555
Let's go to the bedroom and continue.
Each room has a hammock in front of it, perfect for relaxing.
The room we have chosen is a single king-size bed room that can accommodate two guests.
Let's go inside the room.
I apologize for forgetting to take pictures of the bathroom. It is a private bathroom, but please note that it only has cold water and no hot water. Fortunately, the weather was not too cold during our stay, so showering was comfortable.
The view outside the room is amazing.
After enjoying the view, we changed our clothes and got ready to have fun in the water.
There are 3 raft tours available at this location:
- Tour 1: 3:30 PM
- Tour 2: 4:30 PM
- Tour 3: 5:30 PM
We are playing at 3:30 PM. The sun is blazing hot.
Please try to arrive on time as scheduled. Don't be late, as there have been instances where people have arrived 10-15 minutes late and were not waited for. They will leave without you. It's better to be safe than sorry. If you miss your slot, you'll have to wait for the next round. Don't make them wait for you, it's not nice.
Once on the raft, the view is like this. They will take us about 1 km away from the resort. Then they will let us jump into the water and swim back ourselves. It was so much fun, but also very tiring. The water was very cool and refreshing. There was also a slide to play on, but we didn't dare to try it. We were scared! 555555
After playing in the water, I rushed to take a shower. I'm so hungry! I can't wait to eat the buffet!
The Line Buffet is available during the following times:
At long last!
The dinner buffet line features a variety of hearty dishes, including fried chicken, stir-fried vegetables, stir-fried glass noodles, fried egg salad, chicken in coconut soup, green curry, and much more.
There is also a dessert zone.
Are you full? You ate a lot! 55555
Enjoy the view for a little longer.
Playing until the sky changes color 55555
Very full and happy.
Let's head back to the accommodation. It's not far to walk to the room, but we're not going to sleep yet. We'll sit on the bench in front of the room until late at night. The breeze is so cool. There are people fishing too. I'm just sitting here watching them. It's really natural.
The pitch-black sky, coupled with the sound of water and the wind blowing continuously, made us feel truly drowsy. I'm sleepy now, so I'm going to bed. I'll end it here for today and continue on the 2nd. Have a good night's sleep. ^^
DAY 2
It's time to go back today. I don't want to leave yet. ㅠㅠ
The morning mist descends, and the water flows swiftly.
Despite eating a large meal last night, I woke up this morning feeling hungry again.
Let's go have breakfast.
Breakfast typically consists of fried eggs, ham, sausages, and rice porridge. For those who prefer a more substantial meal, there is also pork leg rice available. Pancakes are also offered and are quite delicious.
Serve just the right amount so you don't have any leftovers.
The view while having breakfast in the morning is amazing. We chose to sit on a raft, and the cool breeze was very comfortable.
As we sat down to eat, a local child approached us and asked to join us. He had a mischievous look on his face.
After finishing my meal, I returned to my room for a brief rest before checking out.
While waiting to check out, we took a leisurely stroll around the resort, enjoying the beautiful weather.
It's time to check out. Please check out at the original location. The check-out time is 11:30 AM.
Goodbye! See you again soon. I really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was amazing.
Let's find a way back to Kanchanaburi Bus Terminal without delay.
Since the van wouldn't pick up passengers along the way, we had to wait for the bus for about an hour. It was a long wait, and it was hot. But finally, the bus arrived! It was very crowded, but the driver was very kind. He called us to sit on the empty seats and asked the passengers who were eating to move so we could sit down. Thank you so much! Otherwise, I would have had to stand for 3 hours for sure.
It's a non-air-conditioned bus, so you can enjoy the natural breeze. The ticket price is 60 baht per person.
The journey from Kaeng Jao Intersection to Kanchanaburi Bus Terminal takes approximately 3 hours by public bus, as the speed is moderate.
This is the bus we're taking. It has "Thong Pha Phum" written on the front. Make sure you get on the right bus and don't get on the wrong one.
Upon arriving at the bus terminal, the first thing we craved was a 7-Eleven. We were so desperate for it! 55555555
After buying snacks, we went to find a restaurant to eat lunch before returning to Bangkok.
After finishing lunch, I immediately looked for a van to take me back to Bangkok. I was worried that if I left late, it would be too dark when I arrived.
The van fare is 120 baht per person. The destination is Mo Chit 2.
Arrived in Bangkok safely.
This is a relaxing and enjoyable trip, perfect for a getaway. The travel time is not too long, but it is important to check the season before going. The best time to visit is when the water level is not too high or too low, otherwise, the rafting experience may not be as enjoyable.
