Greetings! After a long hiatus, I'm back with a new trip (that I took several months ago) 55555

This review will take everyone on a journey to the southern region of Thailand, specifically Phuket. It is the first southern province we have visited, and we are a little excited.

We embarked on a trip in late May, from May 28th to 30th. We ventured into the unknown, unsure of the weather conditions, the intensity of the sun, or the wind's strength. However, upon landing and stepping onto the airport tarmac, we were greeted with a wave of heat. We had decided to visit two beaches: Rawai Beach and Mai Khao Beach.

Day 1

We boarded an AirAsia flight, departing early in the morning after taking a taxi from our accommodation to Don Mueang Airport. We boarded the plane at 7:35 AM.

Let's embark on a journey to Phuket!

The provided text is empty. There is nothing to translate.

I've landed! The first thing I need to do is find a place to eat. I'm so hungry! 55555

Seeking restaurants with moderate pricing.

Where there is effort, there is success. Found it! A rice with side dishes restaurant.

Note: The original text is empty, so the translation is also empty.

Travel Directions

After exiting the airport, cross the street to the opposite side. If you turn left, you will find a Family Mart. If you continue walking straight on the right side (not too far), you will see a sign for the alleyway as shown in the picture. Walk straight into the alleyway. It's not a long walk, just a short distance and you will arrive at your destination. :-)

For those looking for a budget-friendly (very) restaurant near the airport, we highly recommend it.

The price is reasonable, the taste is good, and the auntie will bring a tray of vegetables for you to eat while you are having your meal. She also sells various types of rice noodles with fish curry.

And this is stir-fried basil with shrimp on rice. Look at the shrimp, everyone! The food at Nong Kung's rice shop still looks this delicious. T^T

On my way back to the airport to catch the bus to Phuket Old Town, I bumped into my boyfriend's friend. I was so confused! I can't believe how many friends he has all over the country. 😂 Luckily, I got a free ride to Phuket Old Town. What a lucky day! 😄

However, for those who want to find a car to enter the Phuket Old Town area, we have already inquired about it.

Upon exiting the terminal, you will encounter a parking lot where the aforementioned bus will be stationed. The bus resembles an air-conditioned public bus. An attendant will guide you to board the bus. The journey to the city center takes approximately 2 hours. The fare is 100 Baht per person. While the bus offers comfortable air-conditioned seating, it is advisable to arrive early as seats fill up quickly and the bus departs on schedule.

We have arrived at the old town of Phuket. There are a lot of tourists, mostly Chinese and Thai people.

This location offers numerous opportunities for stunning photography. For photography enthusiasts, we highly recommend visiting this site.

After traveling for half a day, we decided to take a break and stumbled upon this cat cafe.

The cafe boasts a cool and comfortable air-conditioned environment, offering both savory and sweet dishes. The establishment is divided into two zones: one with cats and one without. If you wish to relax in the cat zone, the staff will kindly request that you remove your shoes and wash your hands.

While I have captured numerous photographs of the adorable feline, I will only share one to avoid an excessively lengthy post.

I'm refreshed and ready to continue!

Our next destination is Rawai Beach, the southernmost beach in Phuket.

We continued our journey to Railay Beach by searching for a shared taxi. We eventually found a blue one that could take us all the way. The journey was a bit long as it was a public bus, but the fare was only 40 baht per person, which was incredibly affordable considering the distance. We were very impressed.

We have arrived at Raiwai Beach. It's a peaceful and beautiful beach. We love it very much!

Upon reaching the beach, we wasted no time and immediately sought out our accommodations.

The accommodation we have booked is the Cascades Boutique Resort.

The price is 990 baht/night (excluding breakfast), which is very reasonable. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.

The journey to the accommodation is quite far, so walking is not recommended. For those interested in staying here, we recommend renting a motorbike near the beach. However, if you prefer to rent a motorbike within the resort, they are also available for rent at a price of 250 baht per day.

The only guests we saw were foreigners, even the owner and the receptionist were foreigners. The receptionist was very lovely, her name is Terry and she has a chubby Beagle partner named Jack. Jack is very attached to Terry and the owner, following them around all day.

The exterior and interior of the room are lush and offer maximum privacy.

The room includes a kitchenette and a mini-bar for your convenience. The prices of various snacks are listed on the refrigerator.

Everything is packed. I've taken another shower.

We are heading to Promthep Cape on a motorbike rented from the resort. It's convenient.

The journey was not difficult, as there were signs indicating the way throughout. In terms of distance from my accommodation, it was somewhat far for someone unfamiliar with the route like myself. However, on the return trip, it did not seem as far. The initial perception of distance was likely due to my unfamiliarity with the route.

Park your motorbike at the designated parking area and then walk up the hill.

We have arrived at the Promthep Cape viewpoint.

The place is extremely crowded. I suggest you avoid wearing slippery shoes as it is very dangerous. It's basically a cliff. When we went, we saw a Chinese family sitting in a very precarious position, much deeper than the other visitors. It was quite frightening.

While everyone else waited to watch the sunset at 6 pm, we couldn't bear it any longer. We were so hungry that we left at 5:30 pm.

Let's eat at this famous restaurant in Rawai Beach, Mook Manee Seafood (formerly Mook Dee Seafood).

The restaurant is located near Saphan Raiwai Bridge. There are many restaurants in the alley next to it. It is the most crowded place with a lot of Chinese people.

For those who have a car, please park it at the parking lot in front of the alley. This applies to both small and large vehicles.

How to eat at this restaurant:

  1. Buy seafood you want to eat from the shop across the street (there are many shops to choose from, but my boyfriend's friend recommended Uncle Pan Seafood).
  2. Bring the seafood you bought to the restaurant and they will weigh it to determine the total weight. The cooking fee is 75 baht per dish (so you don't have to pay for the food itself, except for drinks and rice).
  3. If the dish weighs less than 1 kilogram, you will be charged 75 baht per dish. However, if the dish weighs more than 1 kilogram, it might be charged 100 baht per kilogram/dish (I'm not sure about this, sorry!).
  4. Note: If you buy 1 kilogram of shrimp, for example, you can tell the staff how much of it you want to use for each dish and in what proportions.

We bought 1 kilogram of shrimp, 1 kilogram of mussels, and 1 bunch of squid for a total of about 600 baht. We then took it to the restaurant to be weighed, and they gave us a menu to choose from. We ordered spicy squid soup with coconut milk, shrimp baked with glass noodles, grilled shrimp, baked mussels, and steamed squid with lime. I have to say, it was incredibly delicious! The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the cooking was perfect. I love this way of eating because you get to see the fresh ingredients before they're cooked. It was a truly delightful experience.

We ordered 5 dishes, which cost 75 baht each, for a total of 75 x 5 = 375 baht. Including water, rice (3 plates), and service charge, the total came to around 650 baht. We also bought 600 baht worth of seafood, bringing the total cost of the meal to 1,250 baht, or 625 baht per person. This was an excellent value, as we ordered a lot of food, ate a lot, and the ingredients were very fresh. The quality was excellent for the price, and we were very pleased.

Full and satisfied, let's take a stroll on the Rawai Bridge. There are people fishing and children gossiping in circles, it's quite charming.

The yellow lights are from the Sarasin Bridge. It's a beautiful view from this angle. ^^

I'm sure you'll sleep well tonight after such a satisfying meal. 55555

We will continue our journey on day 2. Day 1 is over. I'm going to sleep now. Good night. zzZ

DAY 2

Today's plan is to visit Mai Khao Beach, which is the northernmost beach in Phuket.

We took a songthaew (shared taxi) to Phuket Old Town and then another songthaew to Mai Khao Beach. The songthaew from Phuket Old Town to Mai Khao Beach was a local truck, which was a fun experience. Here are the fares for the songthaews: * From Rawai Beach to Phuket Old Town: 40 baht per person * From Phuket Old Town to Mai Khao Beach: 30 baht per person

Farewell, Rawai. We will visit you again soon. We will miss you dearly.

Upon reaching the city center, we stopped for a satisfying lunch before continuing our journey to Mai Khao Beach. The journey was straightforward, requiring only a single ride on a shared taxi that took us directly to the heart of Mai Khao Beach.

We have arrived at Mai Khao Beach. It is incredibly beautiful.

Mai Khao Beach is a beach with a unique highlight: it is located very close to the airport (right next to it). Therefore, you can see airplanes taking off and landing very, very, very closely, in high definition.

Let's head to the accommodation first, shall we?

We stayed at the Mai Khao Beach Guest House for 1,200 baht per night (including breakfast).

The room was a standard guest room with an ensuite bathroom. The guesthouse owners, an elderly couple, were exceptionally kind, to the point where we felt不好意思 (bùhǎoyìsi), a sense of awkwardness or indebtedness due to their excessive hospitality.

To reach the guesthouse, we called the accommodation and the owner came to pick us up. He even suggested we visit the beach first. The service was exceptional. Upon arrival at the room, he took us to get bicycles for cycling to the beach and recommended nearby restaurants, highlighting which ones were delicious and which were newly opened. His hospitality was truly remarkable.

We arrived at the beach at 5 pm, which was very late in the evening. As a result, the atmosphere was somewhat dark and gloomy.

Note: Mai Khao Beach is ideal for those seeking true relaxation, as the deep, recessed bay creates strong waves, making it unsuitable for swimming. Instead, visitors can enjoy the sound of the waves and unwind in a peaceful setting.

As the sky began to darken and hunger pangs set in, we decided to search for a restaurant. While cycling along, we stumbled upon this establishment.

There are about 4-5 restaurants lined up in a row. We chose this particular restaurant because of its quiet atmosphere and soft music, which provided a peaceful dining experience.

We ordered seafood tom yum, salt-grilled fish, and tamarind prawns. The food was delicious, especially the tom yum, which had a strong and flavorful broth. We were impressed by both the taste and the atmosphere.

After a satisfying meal, we cycled back to our accommodation, enjoying the cool breeze and the sound of the waves. It was a different kind of pleasure.

Ready to sleep now, charging up for tomorrow! :D

DAY 3

It's the last day already. I don't want to go back :(

Around 10 am, my aunt and uncle knocked on my door and invited me to breakfast. They came to my room! 55555

After finishing our meal, we rushed to the beach to watch the airplanes. We were so excited!

The old man suggested yesterday that the plane would take off in the evening and land in the morning. Therefore, if you want to see the plane up close, you should go in the morning.

The sky is incredibly clear and the weather is extremely hot.

The excitement was palpable on the beach as the event drew near. The atmosphere was electric, with everyone eagerly anticipating the spectacle. The anticipation was so intense that it was almost tangible.

Translation:

Note:

After enjoying the view of the airplanes, we rushed back to our accommodation because the check-out time was noon.

I need to rush back and take a shower. I haven't even put on makeup yet, but I have to check out. So I'm doing my makeup here where I had breakfast this morning. Haha. The uncle and auntie are so nice. We were chatting happily when it suddenly started raining.

The uncle said that Phuket is like this, it rains often but it stops quickly. Which is true, as soon as it stops raining, the sun comes out. Haha.

Once the rain stopped, we immediately looked for a way to get to the airport. The uncle told us that taxis rarely pass by this area, and the only option would be a three-wheeled vehicle that locals use to transport tourists to the beach to watch airplanes.

We were wondering what to do next, and the uncle offered to take us to the airport. He even charged us less than a regular taxi, which was incredibly kind. We asked him to drop us off at a restaurant near the airport that we had found.

The restaurant in question is Sea Calm Cafe. It has a lovely atmosphere, cool air conditioning, and is very affordable.

The savory dishes we ordered included garlic fried shrimp with rice, stir-fried seafood with chili paste, and seafood glass noodle salad.

Let me tell you, it's really delicious! The seafood is fresh, the prawns are big and juicy, and I especially loved the Phuket fish balls. I'm not sure what kind of fish they're made from, but they were absolutely delicious.

This is the dessert we ordered to try, the brownie cheesecake. It was delicious!

The order included a blended lime juice and a blended strawberry drink, although the latter was not photographed. The blended lime juice is a recommended menu item at the establishment and was highly enjoyable.

We ate until we were so full we could barely stay awake. Time to head to the airport and fly back to Bangkok!
