The hot season has arrived, and it's time to visit the sea. I miss the beauty of the Satun Sea, Lipe, and Adang. Let's go say hello to old friends.^^

This trip was with AirAsia, flying directly from Chiang Mai to Hat Yai. We then rented a car and drove to Pak Bara Pier to visit various islands. The distance from the airport to Pak Bara Pier is approximately 120 kilometers.

Lined with beautiful rubber trees on both sides.

Stopped by a roadside restaurant called "Pa Ma" for lunch and discovered an unusual southern Thai dish: boiled eggs in coconut milk. The flavor was similar to a clear soup with coconut milk.

Simple food options include sour curry, duck rice, and affordable noodles.

After finishing your meal, head to the Pak Bara pier to board your boat. You can leave your car with a local resident for a fee of 100 baht per night. When you return to collect your car, they will conveniently drive a three-wheeled trailer to the pier to pick you up.

Awaiting a speedboat ride, there are many operators available. Using Ploy Siam's round-trip service costs 900 baht per person. If you go on a morning trip, you can also stop by Koh Tarutao and Koh Khai for photos.

We have arrived at Tarutao Island. The park entrance fee is 40 baht per person, which grants access to all parks. The sky is incredibly clear in March.

Tarutao National Marine Park: A Paradise in the Andaman Sea

"Tarutao," a name derived from the Malay word "Tarutao," meaning "many bays," aptly describes this stunning archipelago in the Andaman Sea. Located in Satun Province, southern Thailand, Tarutao National Marine Park encompasses 51 islands, including seven main islands: Tarutao, Adang, Rawi, Lipe, Klang, Batang, and Bissi.

Just 4.8 kilometers from the Thai-Malaysian border, this park offers a haven for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers. Its diverse ecosystem boasts pristine beaches, lush rainforests, and vibrant coral reefs teeming with marine life.

Tarutao National Marine Park is a true paradise, attracting visitors from around the globe with its breathtaking beauty and unparalleled natural wonders.

The sky is beautiful, the water is clear, and the white sand beaches are pristine. The beauty of the Tarutao Islands remains top-notch among Thai seas. ^^

Next, head to Koh Kai, where you'll find the Lover's Gate, a popular photo spot for tourists, especially couples.

The pristine white sand beach, as beautiful and clean as the color of an egg, remains as stunning as ever. I visited the island three years ago, and it's still just as breathtaking, although the number of tourists has increased significantly.

Crystal-clear water

After taking photos, we went to Koh Lipe.

Lipe is bustling with tourists. The sea is as beautiful as ever, and you can see the sandy beach from above.

There are many resorts.

Take a long-tailed boat to Adang Island, which is not far from Koh Lipe. The boat fare is 100 baht per person (round trip 200 baht).

We have arrived at Adang Island.

Accommodation has been booked in advance for two nights at 600 baht per night on weekdays and 400 baht per night on weekends.

On the way to the accommodation, I was lucky enough to encounter a hornbill. It was still a small hornbill, which was very cute. This indicates that the natural environment is still in good condition.

The accommodation at Adang is simple and peaceful, but the downside is that the electricity is turned off at midnight. If you are sensitive to heat, you may want to reconsider. Alternatively, camping is available for 200 baht per night.

The local came to ask for food.

Front yard view

Let's go play in the water at the beach. I like Adang the most because there aren't many tourists. The beach and the sea are beautiful.

Adang remains a paradise in the southern Andaman Sea, as beautiful as ever.

The seawater shimmers with natural hues of navy blue, sky blue, indigo, and emerald green.

The evening has arrived, and it's time to cross over to Koh Lipe for dinner. While the National Park offers food options, they have limited hours and a restricted menu.

The evening sky is beautiful.

A local resident recommends this restaurant, stating that it is delicious and they ate there both evenings during their stay. They describe the seafood as fresh, the flavors as good, and the prices as reasonable. The restaurant is called Ja Dam Horai Phae and is located on the walking street of Koh Lipe. For those who are tired of walking, there is a trailer service available for 150 baht per trip, which can accommodate 3-4 people.

Would you like to have some dessert, my friend?^^

This dish costs approximately 700 baht, depending on the weight of the shrimp selected.

The other dishes were all delicious, especially the crispy oyster omelet.

My daughter loves deep-fried yellow cheek fish with fish sauce. The flesh is tender, the skin is crispy, and it's fresh and delicious. Who recommended this dish? Personally, I've tried both sea bass and yellow cheek fish, and I prefer yellow cheek fish.

The southern-style sour curry is incredibly delicious. The grilled tiger prawns are sweet and succulent. The Andaman Sea is abundant in tiger prawns, while the area around Chanthaburi has a higher concentration of crabs.

This street food stall is very crowded. It seems that the food is delicious and affordable. I originally wanted to try it, but there were too many people.

Good morning, the sun is up and shining brightly. Let's go on an adventure!

This time, I didn't go up to the viewpoint at Pha Chado. Here are some pictures from a previous trip. The viewpoint at point 3 at Pha Chado offers stunning views, including a glimpse of Koh Lipe in the distance. However, the climb is steep and challenging, so you need to be in good physical condition.

Hin Sorn Island is a unique and picturesque landmark featuring two massive boulders stacked upon one another.

Should we visit Koh Racha Yai or White Sand Beach? I was very impressed with Koh Racha Yai on my previous visit. The beach is beautiful and the water is crystal clear.

A photograph from approximately three years ago, when there were few people and our boat was the first one there. It was very beautiful.

The current image shows a significant increase in the number of boats compared to the past. The number of foreign tourists, especially Chinese tourists, has also increased dramatically.

The ships were lined up as far as the eye could see, but they were neatly arranged.

Rawa Island offers fried chicken and papaya salad. Plain ice is relatively expensive, costing 20 baht per glass, likely due to the need to transport it from the mainland.

The beach and water remain as pristine as ever, but the number of tourists has significantly increased.

This trip did not include a visit to Koh Rok Loi. Instead, we went snorkeling behind the island at the first point.

Behind Koh Rok

This area has a high density of lettuce coral.

Point 2: Diving at the back of Koh Yang, there are many fire corals.

Let's continue to Hin Ngam Island.

Ko Hin Ngam, a part of the Adang-Rawi Archipelago, lies approximately 2.5 kilometers from Ko Adang. The island is characterized by its unique black, shimmering rocks, smooth and glossy, with no sandy beaches. The surrounding area is adorned with beautiful rocks, creating a picturesque landscape.

The stones are truly beautiful, with intricate patterns created by nature. Each one is unique, smooth and rounded, devoid of sharp edges. It is believed that each stone carries a curse from the Lord of Tarutao, and those who take them away will face misfortune.

The uncle tried using a stone to scrub his body, but he said it was too smooth and slippery, making it difficult to remove the dirt. He laughed.

Three years ago, my lord, you were very fond of the stones on this island.

Now that I'm older, I still enjoy clinging to beautiful rocks.^^

The final stop was snorkeling behind Hin Ngam Island, where there were many beautiful and diverse corals.

The fish population remains abundant. They are visible from the water's surface. This time, we only went diving at a few islands, skipping Koh Song. The currents at Rong Nam Jabang were too strong for diving, so we didn't go there either. The fish population around the various islands is still plentiful.

Cool down and continue playing in the water at Koh Adang.

The water is so clear and beautiful.

The evening has fallen, rest and sleep while watching the beautiful sunset.

The morning atmosphere is very beautiful, giving a peaceful and refreshing feeling.

I woke up early and had a simple breakfast at the park restaurant. The seafood porridge was 120 baht per cup. The pancakes were delicious.

Adang Island is teeming with horseshoe crabs.

The Sichuan Basin boasts an abundance of adorable crabs, including the hairy crab. This abundance serves as an indicator of the region's rich biodiversity.

When visiting the sea, please dispose of your waste responsibly. Let's work together to maintain cleanliness. During this trip, I noticed an increase in marine debris. Some individuals carelessly discard trash, such as candy wrappers and plastic bottles, into the ocean. Let's show compassion for nature. By avoiding harming the environment, we can ensure that its beauty remains for future generations to appreciate.

Wait at the pier for the boat to take you back to the shore.

Battery is dead.

After picking up the car at the port, we had lunch at a nearby restaurant called Healthy Choice, which is located by the sea.

The food tastes good, the crab fried rice is delicious.

The crab curry costs 450 baht per dish. We ordered around 5-6 dishes, which came to a total of around 1,000 baht.

After finishing lunch, we had some time to kill before our evening flight. We decided to explore Songkhla. We drove from Pak Bara Pier to the car ferry at Songkhla Lake, a distance of 138 km. We crossed from the Andaman Sea to the Gulf of Thailand. It was quite an adventure!

The ferry to Khao Talu costs 20 baht for a car.

Let's go to Laem Som.

Visit the iconic Naga statue spewing water, a symbol of Songkhla province, as it cascades into the Songkhla Lake.

It's beautiful at night in a different way.

Laem Samila, clear sky

Sculpture of a mouse and a cat.

Colorful kites and horseback riding along the beach are available for 150 baht per round.

There are many souvenirs.

Let's continue our exploration of Khao Talu.

Many monkeys can be found around Mount Tangkwan.

Enjoy a refreshing coconut ice cream for 30 baht before climbing the mountain. It comes with fresh coconut water too! ^^

Khao Tang Kuan is a small hill located in Songkhla city, near Samila Beach. It stands approximately 105 meters above sea level. Visitors without a car can take a tuk-tuk or taxi to reach the summit. The hilltop features significant historical landmarks, including the Phra Chedi Luang, the pavilion where King Rama IV resided, and a lighthouse. An elevator ride to the top costs 30 baht for adults and 20 baht for children. The hill is open from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays and from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekends and public holidays. For inquiries, please call 074-316330.

The panoramic view from the mountain reveals the beauty of Songkhla city under the bright March sky.

The lighthouse was built during the reign of King Chulalongkorn.

Luang Pu Thuat

The Royal Pagoda is a significant historical site on Khao Tanguan. The bell-shaped brick and stucco pagoda is believed to be an ancient structure, but its exact origins remain unclear.

The bells offered to the Phra That Luang Pagoda are collected until full, then melted down to create a large bell to be offered to the pagoda.

After paying respects at the temple, we traveled to the airport. The distance from Khao Takiab to the airport is approximately 40 kilometers.

I'm home! The sky is so beautiful, I can see the crescent moon and the stars. See you on the next trip!^^
