Soaking in hot springs, onsen style, at Fang Hot Springs

March 23, 2018

Continuing from the previous blog post, "Warmth from the Forest," where we explored budget-friendly accommodations with a luxurious feel, we ventured out for a bite to eat after completing our green destination. From "Warmth from the Forest," we drove towards the renowned Fang Hot Springs in the area. We had already seen signs pointing the way to the hot springs before reaching our accommodation. We simply drove about 6 kilometers from our accommodation, turned left, and continued driving for less than 10 kilometers until we reached the hot springs. Fang Hot Springs is located within the Doi Pha Hom Pok National Park (my next destination for tent camping).

That has amazingness
In itself

Hot springs are formed when molten rock (magma) from beneath the Earth's crust rises through cracks in the rock, heating the surrounding rock layers. As groundwater flows through these heated rocks, its temperature increases, creating immense pressure. This pressure forces the water to the surface through fissures in the granite, resulting in a gushing hot spring with steam constantly rising. The water temperature in hot springs can reach 80-100 degrees Celsius.

It was already late in the evening, but we still insisted on coming. It was the hot season, so there weren't many people here. The entrance fee was 50 baht per person, but the staff told us that it was late and offered us a group rate of 100 baht. It was a good deal for us, as there were four of us. (Psst, I smell someone with bad intentions around here.)

We were surprised to find an unexpected green space. The person who was most excited was the one who would be taking pictures, except for the person who was walking ahead, who couldn't hide their excitement.

Let's go inside.

The sight of the meadow captivated them, as is typical of those with a romantic view of the world. The lush green grass and the blooming flowers in the summer heat were a perfect match.

Okay?

The smell of sulfur permeated the air.

The highlight of this place is undoubtedly the hot spring egg boiling trend.

At the end of the walkway, there is a viewpoint. The view from below is also beautiful.

Next to the viewpoint, there is a refreshing waterfall waiting for us. It's the best!

Let's go to the hot springs in the afternoon. There are private rooms available, but judging from the time, around 5:30 PM, it probably won't be our time.

He could only watch and walk to the other side.

The side where everyone sat down, talked, and started thinking about "Japan".

The moment of soaking in hot water after a satisfying meal, while others are still hungry, let them continue to soak.

The author wandered around taking pictures, only to turn around and find that the chubby pig was "sulking" because it wanted to soak in the hot water in the private room. "Oh, dear," the author exclaimed, and decided to play with the pig.

It's getting late.
It's time to stop having fun.
I'll be back.
