Embark on an Adventure: Camping on Khao Hin Phat Mountain

Greetings, fellow adventurers! Today, we embark on a journey to immerse ourselves in nature's embrace, witnessing the ethereal beauty of sunrise amidst the misty peaks of Khao Hin Phat Mountain in Kirirath Nikhom District, Surat Thani Province.

Kirirath Nikhom evokes images of lush mountains, verdant forests, and refreshing streams. However, our expedition takes us beyond the ordinary, inviting you to pitch your tents atop the majestic Khao Hin Phat! Witness the celestial tapestry of stars, embrace the morning mist, and greet the rising sun with a breathtaking panorama.

All this for a mere 350 baht! So, let's embark on a revitalizing escape to the invigorating heights of Khao Hin Phat.

Day 1: The Journey Begins

Our journey began at the Prince of Songkla University, Surat Thani Campus. The distance traveled was approximately 70 kilometers, taking about an hour. For this trip, we hired a songthaew, or as the locals call it, a "som" car, driven by Uncle Nich. For tourists who prefer to travel by private car, the route is not too complicated. You can simply open the route on your GPS.

  • A songthaew will pick you up right at your doorstep.

Our equipment was top-notch, including tents, stoves, and various food items, for camping and preparing a delicious dinner on the mountain.

Lo and behold! On our journey, we stumbled upon a delightful sight: **freshly made Khao Lam Nam Rob**. This irresistible treat demanded a taste test, and we couldn't resist indulging in its deliciousness.

We couldn't wait to dig in and try it. The sticky rice, both white and black, was sweet, creamy, and perfectly balanced. It was so delicious that we had to share it with everyone. You'll definitely want to try it for yourself!

As we arrived at our destination earlier than expected, we decided to make a stop at the Yuan Sao Waterfall, which is located on the way to Khao Hin Phat. The waterfall boasts an impressive 11 tiers!

  • Yuen Sawan Waterfall

Eager to conquer the stunning Yuan Waterfall, we embarked on a thrilling trek. For those planning to visit this waterfall, we highly recommend wearing sneakers and socks, as leeches are present along the trail! This truly was an adventurous experience.

  • One day, I walked into the forest.

-Embrace the Flowing Waters and the Expansive Forests-

We only managed to reach the 5th level before having to bid farewell to the Yuan Waterfall. It was time for us to head to Khao Hin Phat. We hope to return and conquer all 11 levels next time! (We didn't turn back because we were tired, really!)

- Fight! -

After descending from Yuan Waterfall, we continued our journey to our next destination. Upon reaching the entrance to Hin Pha Daeng, we had to take a ride with a park ranger's vehicle. The round-trip fare for the ascent and descent is 200 baht. To arrange transportation, contact park ranger Wichit at 081-0859843.

We have arrived at Khao Hin Phat! Hooray! … Wait a minute! Don't get too excited, this is just the entrance. Haha! We still have to walk about 200 meters to reach Khao Hin Phat and the viewpoint.

Here is a breakdown of the code:

  • <p>: This tag indicates the start of a paragraph.
  • <hr />: This tag creates a horizontal rule.
  • </p>: This tag indicates the end of the paragraph.

This code snippet can be used to create a visual separation between different sections of text, such as headings, paragraphs, or lists. It can also be used to create a visual break between different sections of a webpage, such as the header, content, and footer.

The trail is very comfortable and there are two rest stops for tourists along the way. Tourists who expect to hike up a mountain into the forest may be slightly disappointed.

And then we reached Hin Pha Tat just before sunset, exactly as planned! The atmosphere on the mountain was very refreshing.

Upon arrival, one must strike a pose for a photo with the Khao Hin Phat rock formation.

The sun is setting soon. Let's set up the tent before it gets dark.

Before setting up the tent, we paid our respects to the Buddha statue on the rock and prayed for a safe journey.

It's time to pitch the tents. Pitching a tent is a good way to practice teamwork, haha. As soon as we finished pitching the tents, it got dark and our stomachs started to growl.

  • Set up a tent.

It's time to light the fire and cook some food. The menu we have prepared for tonight is suki and grilled chicken.

Looks delicious, right? Haha.

After dinner, we all went our separate ways to take a shower (there are bathrooms available on the mountain).
At night, we went to sit on the hill to stargaze. We saw so many stars, it was amazing!
Then it was time to go to sleep because we had to wake up early the next day to watch the sunrise and the mist.

Day 2: Let's watch the sunrise!

We woke up at 5:00 AM to wait for the sunrise (it was still dark). The air was fresh and cool. We were eagerly waiting for the sun.

  • Awaiting the sunrise.

And then the time we were floating, oops, waiting for!! It finally arrived. The **red sun** rose right in front of us, along with the **sea of fog**. But today, our luck wasn't on our side because the sea of fog was very far away.

-The sunrise is very beautiful.-

After enjoying the breathtaking views of the mist and sunrise, our stomachs began to rumble once again. Returning to our tents, we rekindled the fire and warmed up the remaining sukiyaki from the previous night, savoring every bite.

Packing my bags and heading home. Farewell, Khao Hin Phat. Until next time, when I'll return to explore your wonders once more.

-I'm leaving now.-

The wait was well worth it. This was a fantastic trip, well worth the journey. We had a lot of fun. The staff was friendly, the location was beautiful, and the atmosphere was refreshing. This is a must-see destination for any tourist.
