Greetings! This impromptu trip was a spur-of-the-moment adventure, devoid of plans or schedules. We embraced the spirit of spontaneity, embracing whatever fate had in store for us.

Let's get started.

....................................................................................................................................................

Day 1: A fresh start.

8:30 AM, Surat Thani Railway Station

We opted for a scenic train journey, enjoying the convenience, affordability, and picturesque views along the way. Upon arrival at the designated meeting point, we purchased tickets at 35 baht each. Our group consisted of seven members, all of whom were women, making me the sole male representative, hence the self-proclaimed title of "most handsome" within the team.

#Still a bit sleepy because we met early in the morning.

9:46 AM.

The train has arrived, 10 minutes behind schedule. Passengers can choose their seats freely upon boarding.

The local train we boarded exudes a nostalgic charm, immersing us in the raw beauty of nature.

#This is Por or Aew, one of the trip participants who is excited to ride the train for the first time in 10 years. She looks especially excited.

....................................................................................................................................................................

After sitting for a while, there were snacks and drinks sold on the train all the time, including water, snacks, fried chicken, iced tea, ice cream, and even salted fish, which was more than we could have imagined. We ate until our bellies were full.

#Let's add some powder for a perfect look

1:21 PM

Upon arriving at Cha-uat station, we were greeted by our relative, Toon, who was waiting for us at the station entrance.

#Brother Toon is the person on the left.

If you come by yourself without a car, there will be cars in the area waiting to serve you. You can easily travel there without getting lost. Take a 20-minute ride and you will arrive at Nan Mad Daeng.

Buy a whitewater rafting ticket for 200 baht per person. I can tell you that it is a very worthwhile 200 baht.

#Before we go to the slaughterhouse, oops, I mean go whitewater rafting, let's take a thrilling photo first. Smile!

The Nan Mad Daeng rafting route is the longest in the area, stretching nearly 7 kilometers. This translates to a thrilling paddling experience that will leave you breathless. The route is characterized by alternating calm and rapid sections, all while being surrounded by lush natural beauty.

The most thrilling part of the journey is navigating the rapids at Kaeng, where experienced staff are present to ensure safety. If the boat doesn't capsize, it's considered an incomplete experience at Nam Mad Daeng. Based on personal experience, capsizing can be quite enjoyable, especially with friends, as the water is not too deep.

The friendly staff, who felt like family, kept us entertained with their jokes and playful antics throughout the rafting trip. Those who knew how to paddle were lucky, as their boats moved quickly ahead of the others. Those who didn't know how to paddle might have struggled a bit, paddling in circles or getting caught in branches, resulting in a few minor scratches.

No need to worry about not having photos to post on social media, as this place offers beautiful photo shoots, although some of them can be quite hilarious. 5555

Those who want a framed photo, it's 100 baht. A photo alone is 50 baht. Done with the red ant nest.

6:30 PM

Travel to accommodation. Thank you, Brother Toon, for sponsoring the accommodation on this trip.

After packing our belongings and having a delicious meal, we were fortunate to arrive just as the house was holding an ordination ceremony.

Free! We're all full. 55555

Don't miss the chance to try "แกงน้ำเคย" when visiting southern Thailand!

After a satisfying meal, head over to "Evening Tales with Dinner" for a relaxing evening. Enjoy delicious savory and sweet dishes while listening to live music. The perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the night.

#One day in Phatthalung is over.

Day 2: A memory to cherish.

8:30 AM

After waking up in the morning, we had sticky rice with fried chicken from Karaboe, which is said to be the most delicious in Phatthalung, for breakfast (we were so engrossed in eating that we forgot to take a picture). We then continued our journey to the Ekachai Bridge, Thale Noi, Phatthalung.

Stop at the rest stop to admire the natural beauty. There are water buffaloes waiting to greet visitors. Some people call them water buffaloes. Take some photos to capture the beauty.

It is said that these two houses are landmarks of this place. Everyone who comes here must take a picture with them. That's what they say. 555

Next, we head to Talay Noi, where the entrance fee is a friendly 20 baht. This natural site is perfect for birdwatching and photography, with a diverse range of avian species to observe.

1:30 PM

The final location is Napo Kae. The name may sound confusing, but it can be broken down as follows: "Na" refers to flat land that is divided into plots, "Po" means grandfather (or father's father), and "Kae" refers to ancestors. Therefore, Napo Kae translates to "the land of the grandfather or ancestors."

I was deeply impressed by this place. It is a learning center that demonstrates agricultural practices, including rice milling, and showcases renowned rice varieties and sticky rice.

#Meet our adorable white buffalo calves! You can feed them and take close-up photos with these friendly creatures.

..........................................................................................................................................................

The southern region's rich cultural heritage is on display, including Angklung and Nang Talung performances, as well as souvenir and food stalls. The picturesque setting provides ample opportunities for photography enthusiasts. This is a must-visit destination in Phatthalung.

#Lucky that the hat is bigger than my head 55555

...............................................................................................................................................................

On this trip back to Phatthalung Railway Station, we took a fast bus back for 97 baht.

While waiting for the train, we took some photos.

#Time to go home :)

Arrived safely at Surat Thani station at 10:10 PM.

Another trip to Phatthalung has come to an end. It was a journey filled with both joy and obstacles. Traveling to Phatthalung with friends this time showed the importance of helping each other in times of need. We were able to overcome various unforeseen challenges. Although it was a short time, it was full of happiness and fun. We saw the smiles of our friends. Phatthalung may be a small town, but it is full of charm. It is a peaceful city with friendly people and delicious food. I hope Phatthalung will be another destination that everyone wants to experience. I believe that traveling to new places we have never been to is a way to recharge our batteries, leave behind stressful things, create new memories, and inspire us. See you again on the next trip.

Rainy season hipster.
