On March 11, 2017, we visited this location (https://th.readme.me/p/8674) and were very impressed. However, it was not quite perfect...
He promised to return to fix it and bring his family to sleep on the island. He started by reading information, watching reviews, studying travel methods, the right time, comparing prices, before taking the test step by step as follows >>>
Traveling to Lipe is possible all year round, both during the high season (November-April) and the low season (May-October). However, during the low season, boat schedules are limited, and some destinations, such as Ko Khai, Ko Tarutao, Ko Hin Ngam, are inaccessible. Diving is also restricted to the inner zone. On the plus side, accommodation prices are significantly lower, and there are fewer crowds. (There may be occasional heavy rain and flooding on the island, based on news reports.)
However, it also depends on luck. Some people go during the high season and it rains, while others go during the low season and it doesn't rain and they can go diving. And the accommodation is cheaper. So, whichever season is convenient for you, go for it.
June 3, 2017, I booked my flight tickets, choosing April because it was my mischievous niece's school break. Of course, I booked with my usual airline, booking early no matter how long it took because it was cheap. Haha, I passed the first hurdle! I have 10 months to prepare.
Next, we will research accommodation, transportation, and tours. Since we can only book in April, it will still be during the high season. The first point is difficult, and the second point is even more difficult. Let's fight!
Check prices for accommodation (focusing on rooms with air conditioning, private bathrooms, breakfast included, close to the beach, mosquito-free, clean, good service, close to the walking street, and affordable). Oh man! Let's find the criteria ourselves, it's too difficult. T_T Those who plan to buy tours at the Thai Tourism Fair or on the internet are also afraid of being cheated. (Before coming, there was a Thai company ...... that closed down and abandoned its tour customers, which made us nervous).
November 14, 2017. Deposit 50% to book accommodation + diving tour + 4 meals. I was looking at many places, but I chose this one because it was a newly opened zone, just testing the market. Plus, the price was not expensive and it met many of my requirements. I had to try it. I wanted to know, I had to try.
February 11, 2018, booked a van + boat for 1200 baht per person (deposit 2000 baht) in case of fraud, won't hurt 555. There are many options to choose from, but we chose this one because it has a return boat trip at 4:00 PM as we wanted (plus the price is not expensive, you know).
Flight Timing Recommendation:
For optimal travel times, it's advisable to book early morning flights for your departure and evening flights around 4:00 PM for your return. This will help avoid any rush or risk of missing your return flight. As for me, I've booked a 8:00 PM flight, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free journey.
After 10 months of preparation, the time has finally arrived. Let's go on an adventure!
April 20, 2018, it's time to enter the examination room. The location is at Don Mueang. It's good to arrive early so you can find free food. Hehe. Those who use TRUE / AIS are comfortable, they eat a lot for free. This morning, I'm full and saved a lot of money. Hehe.
Upon arrival at Hat Yai Airport, a VIP van will be waiting to take you to Pak Bara Pier. The van is new, clean, and has comfortable seats. The journey takes approximately 2 hours, so you can relax and sleep during the trip.
We used the services of Dee Travels Hatyai, also known as Dee Travel Hatyai (Cathay Tour Hatyai).
The bus will stop for a bathroom break and allow passengers to purchase items at a 7-Eleven convenience store. It is recommended to stock up on water, food, and snacks, as prices on the island are significantly higher, especially for water, beer, and soft drinks. Bring as much as you can comfortably carry.
Upon arrival at Pak Bara Pier, check in at Adang Sea Tour, where you will receive stickers and have your luggage tagged.
The package includes round-trip ferry tickets (don't lose them!). Even better, this provider offers complimentary long-tail boat tickets, saving you 50 baht per person on Koh Lipe.
It is currently 10:30 AM and the boat departs at 11:30 AM. We should grab something to eat beforehand. We opted for a delicious and affordable southern Thai restaurant nearby.
After satisfying your hunger, head to the pier and pay the entrance fee of 60 baht per person (40 baht for adults and 20 baht for children). Children are free of charge. Be sure to keep your receipt safe, as park rangers will check it when you go snorkeling or enter the park. If you forget to bring it, you will have to pay again (I saw several tourists forget to bring it and had to pay twice).
Upon exiting the pier, please turn left. Our boat is named "Ploy Siam." Do not wait at the wrong pier, or you may miss the boat.
The place is crowded and chaotic, but it's undeniably beautiful. It's no wonder everyone wants to visit.
Tourists may want to arrive before 11:30 AM to ensure a full boat. If arriving early, it is recommended to sit in the middle for comfort. The edges of the boat may be less comfortable due to limited space. Our late arrival resulted in seating at the edge, which was not ideal for legroom.
The tour we chose will stop at Tarutao Island and Khai Island (we chose this tour because it was a bonus, if you come on other tours, you won't stop there, you will go straight to Koh Lipe). **** For those who choose the tour that stops, it is recommended to wear shorts, because when you go to Khai Island, you have to get into the water, your legs will get wet.
The boat ride to Tarutao Island takes approximately 45 minutes. Upon arrival, passengers are required to present their identification cards. While a guide is present to provide information about the island, the noise level on the boat makes it difficult to hear clearly.
Accommodation available.
Fifteen minutes to take a few photos, whistle for the birds, and then get on the boat. 555
While waiting in line to board the boat, we decided to have a little fun. We figured it was a reward for our patience.
We boarded the boat and continued for another 45 minutes to Khai Nok Island, where we encountered a rock archway. At this point, we had to get wet to disembark, as the water was very shallow. The shorter people got less wet, while the taller people got more wet, depending on their height. It was a fun experience.
When the ship arrives, there will be a lot of people. Let's take turns taking pictures so that we can all have beautiful memories.
It is believed that couples who pass through this stone archway will find happiness in love and live together happily, with children and grandchildren filling their home, as the inscription on the archway reads.
To capture stunning photos with minimal crowds, board the boat later. Since queuing is inevitable, delaying your boarding will result in images with fewer people.
Our boat is now heading towards Koh Lipe.
30 more minutes and we'll be there.
The boat will dock at Bhanda Yai Beach. The guide and the locals here told me not to call it Pattaya Beach (I don't know who called it that first, but they should be punished). After all, it already has a beautiful name. Why change it? It's strange.
Upon reaching the beach, children will be waiting with signs, and you will be transported to your accommodation by car.
On the island, the main mode of transportation is a motorcycle with a sidecar, which is locally referred to as a "taxi".

We have arrived at our accommodation. We booked two rooms at The Noi Guesthouse on Koh Lipe. There are two locations for this guesthouse. We chose the newer location, which is closer to Sunrise Beach. (Before booking, be sure to ask which location the guesthouse is in: Sunrise Beach or Sunset Beach.)
Accommodation is air-conditioned and can accommodate 3-4 guests per room.
En-suite bathroom with amenities including TV, refrigerator, and minibar.
I like this kind of shampoo, conditioner, and hair wash.
The bathroom is divided into wet and dry areas. If multiple people use the water at the same time, the water pressure may be weak. This is because the property does not have access to city water and relies on groundwater instead. Please be patient as the water pressure may take some time to build up.
During check-in, the booked program included a one-day inner zone diving tour. However, we had plenty of time left, so we booked an outer zone diving tour as well. We figured, why not? We were already there, so we might as well make the most of it. We went diving twice to get our money's worth. Haha. Khun Noon, the owner, was very kind. On the day of check-out, she allowed us to leave our belongings in one room and take a shower after returning from our dive. She was lovely, beautiful, and incredibly kind. We were very impressed.
No need to venture far when hunger strikes, as the accommodation offers delicious papaya salad and other dishes. The papaya salad is particularly noteworthy, surpassing the quality of many restaurants in Bangkok. (We happily dined there for two days straight!)
The remaining time, how does it sing? Just sleep, rest your eyes for a while, fall asleep without knowing it, your sister calls to wake you up, let's go take a shower.
A 2-3 minute walk from the accommodation will take you to Sunrise Beach. While not directly on the beach, it is easily accessible via a short, scenic path.
Sunrise Beach is a boat parking area, but swimming is allowed (although there may be some oil smell). It is peaceful and not crowded.
It took several shots to get the right one (but I lost all the images, I'm going crazy T_T)
No need to travel far. You can go snorkeling at the beach and see the coral reefs. Plus, there are clownfish to see. No need to travel far.
This trip, my brother-in-law went all out, buying a waterproof camera specifically for this occasion. 555
After showering, I went for a walk on Walking Street. It was a short walk from my hotel, so I didn't need to take a car.
Feeling hungry? Found this seafood buffet for 490 baht. Let's check it out.
Payment is required at the counter before being seated. Customers can then proceed to the buffet area. The dining time is 1.30 hours. We arrived late at 8:00 PM, and some of the food items were already depleted, particularly the crab curry, which was completely gone. Only the legs remained, leaving us disappointed.
Seafood, such as shrimp, squid, and fish, can be selected and placed in a basket for the staff to grill. We do not need to do it ourselves. (It's a pity that I thought there were crabs and shellfish, because if I wanted to eat them, I would have to pay extra. I missed the opportunity to ask for more details.)
After dinner, we took a leisurely stroll along the beach, admiring the twinkling lights of the various bars and restaurants. The lively atmosphere was both entertaining and visually appealing, making for a pleasant evening before retiring for the night.
April 21, 2018. Woke up very early at 5:30 am. Couldn't sleep because I lost some pictures. So I went out to watch the sunrise alone at Sunrise Beach.
The early morning is devoid of people.
The sky is getting redder and redder.
Some wait seated, some wait lying down, but it is unknown whether the purpose of their waiting is the same.
Watching the sunrise over the sea is truly breathtaking. The unobstructed view, with no people or trees to obstruct the panorama, is simply stunning.
Visually stunning and true to the story. Don't miss it!
With 8 delectable set menus to choose from, I haven't even tried them all yet! To complete the set, I'll probably have to come back for more.
The car will take you to the check-in point to board the boat around 9 am.
Register and pay an additional insurance fee of 30 baht per person.
If you are traveling with a large group, it is recommended to charter a boat privately to avoid delays. This way, you can board the boat as soon as you arrive. Other tourists may complain about waiting for a long time, but the staff will explain that they are waiting for a vehicle to pick up other tourists. Please wait a moment.
Stay home if you're that afraid of getting tanned. 555
The first place we visited was Hin Sorn Island, which is easy to remember. After that, I couldn't remember anything else because the boatman spoke in a central dialect that was difficult to understand.
Next, we went snorkeling at Ao Kamnan on Koh Dong. This is a small bay with crystal-clear water. The highlight of this location is the pristine coral reef.
And we stopped for lunch at Ao Ling (but there were no monkeys when we arrived, I think the driver took us to the other side. It was very private).
The scenery and the seawater here are breathtakingly beautiful, beyond words.
Some people played in the water, while others took photos and enjoyed themselves.
