This trip was unplanned. We just had a sudden craving for crab and durian, so we quickly packed our bags and set off on Saturday morning at 8 am. (If we weren't so spontaneous, we wouldn't have been able to do it!)

Chanthaburi This time, I really intended to eat seriously. Really... I intended to eat durian, I intended to eat rambutan, I intended to eat crab! I really intended to eat...

And I intended to see the blue sea of Chanthaburi because the last time I came, there was a storm and the sea was completely black. So this time I'm here to make amends.

Left Bangkok at 8 am (If I could have left earlier, it would have been much better because Chanthaburi has a lot of places to visit and take pictures. I went for 2 days and it wasn't enough at all)

The sun was very strong today and the sea was beautiful, so we decided to go to the sea first. Our first check-in point was the Hin Krong viewpoint (the rocks are very beautiful, no matter what mode you take pictures in, they will be beautiful...)

The next point of interest, not far away, is the Naang Phaya Viewpoint ...

The Shrine of King Taksin the Great and the City Pillar Shrine, Chanthaburi Province

Before entering the riverside community of Chanthaburi... We stopped to pay respects to the sacred objects of the city to enhance the auspiciousness of our journey. A little further on is the Shrine of King Taksin the Great, another important landmark in Chanthaburi.

"If you haven't paid respects to King Taksin, you haven't been to Chanthaburi."

We have arrived at the riverside community of Chat Bura. We are very hungry and desperately searching for Jeed's restaurant. We are following a review that claims it is exceptional.

The tom yum noodles were delicious, living up to their reputation. The restaurant was packed, even though we arrived in the afternoon. We had to wait in line for a table.

By the time we finished eating, it was almost 4 pm, so we didn't have much time to explore the market. It was a bit of a shame, as we would have loved to have more time to wander around and try more of the food.

Before heading to our accommodation, our main mission was to find durian. Since arriving in Chanthaburi, the cheapest we saw was Monthong durian at 65 baht per kilogram (wholesale price). However, we ended up buying it for 100 baht per kilogram. We bought 3 kilograms on the way there and another 3 kilograms on the way back. (Note: Mangosteen and rambutan are not yet ripe, so we haven't seen them for sale much. However, some gardens have ripe fruits, but the prices are still a bit high, for example, mangosteen is 50 baht per kilogram.)

We've already eaten mangosteen, durian, and mantis shrimp. ................. So, all that's left is crab, right? ^.^ Come on, let's go. Hurry to the accommodation and get ready for dinner. (Staying at Laem Sing Beach Natural Resort) The room is spacious, clean, and by the sea. The atmosphere is excellent. Whether you come as a couple or a group, it's chill because behind the hotel is Laem Sing Beach. It's a spot that offers sunbeds and food, similar to Bangsaen Beach, but the water at Bangsaen is clearer.

Get ready, change your clothes, it's time for dinner... Set your GPS to Je Neng Restaurant, Ao Yang.

Je Neng Restaurant is located near the Pak Nam Khem Nu Viewpoint or the Chalermprakiet Bridge. The sunset view is stunning.

I'm hungry… I'll come back to admire the atmosphere another day… Close the door, continue the journey… From the bridge, it takes less than 20 minutes to reach the restaurant. I've been here twice and I'm very impressed. The food is delicious, fresh, clean and cheap. The restaurant is a simple shack by the sea. There were a lot of mosquitoes when I went, but there weren't any the first time I went.

While waiting for the food, I took some photos. As usual, the restaurant was packed with customers at every table.

The food arrived shortly, and I was immediately captivated by the sight of the crab legs. The six dishes we ordered included:

1. Sun-dried squid, deep-fried ... (This is a must-try, highly recommended to order)

2. Steamed Black Crab (1 kg)

  1. Steamed prawns with glass noodles.

4. Spicy blue crab salad

  1. Steamed cockles.

6. Large plate of stir-fried pork with rice (very generous portion, delicious)

This meal cost 1,680 baht in total (including drinks: large Coke, large water, and a large bucket of ice). 3 people, will we finish it all? Let's ask our hearts 555++

After eating, we went back to sleep. On Sunday morning, we planned to go to Priew Waterfall early in the morning and then return to Bangkok. As usual, the breakfast here was plentiful and delicious.

A final shot of the pine forest before leaving.

Check out at 8 am. We hurried to Priew Waterfall early in the morning because we were afraid of crowds and rain. ...

What can you find at Priew Waterfall? ... The answer is a lot of pla pluang fish. There used to be even more, but tourists used to feed them with long beans and vegetables. This is now prohibited, and the number of pla pluang fish seems to have decreased.

The base of the waterfall is a small pool. Getting there is not as difficult as other waterfalls, as you don't have to climb multiple levels. There is only one level here. There is limited space to sit by the water, but there is a large area above to lay out a mat and even a place to pitch a tent. Oh, and there are bathrooms, showers, and even restaurants outside. It's like it has everything.

It's noon, time to go home! On the way back, we stopped in Rayong to have some delicious crab stir-fried noodles at Mr. Jieb's Restaurant in Thung Prong Thong, near the entrance to Thung Prong Thong, Pak Nam Prasae. It was so good!

After lunch, we headed straight to the field. ... Oh, for the trip, you have to take a motorcycle taxi for another 10 baht per person.

The golden mangrove field is not very large. You can walk around easily and comfortably without getting tired. But if it's a sunny day, it will probably be very hot. Because there is no shade at the photo spot .... (The day I went, the sky was cloudy. There was no sun. If there was sun, they said it would be much more beautiful.)

We were only able to walk around and take photos once due to the large crowds and hot weather. It was difficult to find good views or angles. I think if you want to take beautiful photos here, you should come on a weekday.

Overall, we enjoyed every place we visited. We used GPS to navigate to each location. Chanthaburi is a lovely and livable city with abundant food, fruits, forests, and a rich history.

Two days in Chanthaburi is definitely not enough (the same goes for the 6 kg of durian). I will be back for you, I promise!
