In Chanthaburi, you can experience the best of all worlds: waterfalls, beaches, and mountains. It's truly a place where you can have it all.

In mid-May, we had the opportunity to visit Chanthaburi. A close friend tagged a post from "Chillpainai" on our Facebook, and that's when it all started.

We: "Let's go, brother. When are we going?"

Brother: "This Saturday, huh?"

"Sure, let's book it." You're so easygoing, haha.

After a while, we started looking for accommodation. Uh oh! Full, full, full! But we didn't give up. We asked someone we knew, and they recommended a place with a vacancy. Huh! Available? Let's go! The last one too. Luck was on our side. And that place was "Baan Suan Rim Nam Homestay".

Let's begin our journey. Note: The author is not proficient in maps, so they will be omitted. 5555

We are a group of three members this time. First of all, let me tell you that we are very strong. Because each of us has our own tasks, work, and so on on Sundays, we chose to come on Friday evening after work. And then we returned on Saturday evening. See, we are very strong. We travel with as much time as we have. 555

On a Friday evening, as we set off towards the city center of Chanthaburi, we passed by numerous fruit stalls. Since we hadn't had dinner yet and it was getting late, we decided to stop and grab a bite. "Let's stop here!" we exclaimed.

Brother: "Let's buy some to eat at the accommodation."

Okay, brother. I'm hungry. Durian too, please. I'm going to enjoy this.

The journey to our accommodation was not far from the fruit stand. We had previously arranged with the homestay to prepare dinner for us, as we would be arriving late. They agreed and charged 100 baht per person for the meal. Anticipating a simple one-dish meal due to our late arrival, we were pleasantly surprised to find a spread of delicious food, including fruits. The three of us could not even finish it all, making us regret buying so much fruit beforehand.

Since the last remaining house was not located directly next to the waterfall, we were only a short walk away. It took only 10 steps to reach the waterfall. This morning, we woke up and had breakfast. We didn't shower, but we did brush our teeth. Breakfast consisted of rice porridge, bread, Ovaltine, and coffee. I forgot to mention that there is a refrigerator outside the room with bottled water. If you want to bring food, you can store it in the refrigerator.

After breakfast, we went for a swim at the waterfall. Luckily, there was enough water for us to play in, even though it was raining lightly in the morning. The rain added a different kind of atmosphere to the experience.

If we walk a little further, there will be a spot like this. The waterfall here is quite long, so you can play comfortably.

We had our fill of swimming and then we went to shower, got dressed, and prepared to go out and explore other places. Let's go check out!

On the way out of the homestay, we stopped to take some photos.

On our way, we stopped for lunch. They say that when you come to Chanthaburi, you must eat crab. This restaurant is the place to go. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is great, and the prices are reasonable. Plus, the service is excellent. The restaurant is called "Bang Manao".

There are also seats by the sea. The atmosphere is very good. I'm telling you...

After a satisfying meal, it's time to explore! Where should we go? We're free to wander wherever we please, stopping wherever we like. And we'd like to visit this place: the "Riverside Community of Chanthaburi." This community, established over 300 years ago, is situated in the heart of Chanthaburi city, along the banks of the Chanthaburi River. Here, you'll find a variety of historic houses, including traditional Thai riverside homes and European-style buildings with Chinese influences.

Sukhapiban Road

Ancient wooden house

This house, located at 69 Khun Anusorn Sampab, is a community learning center known as "Chumchon Rim Nam Chanthaburi." It is an old house that houses the history of the riverside community of Chanthaburi. Visitors can view old photographs and household items from the past.

The ground floor of the house showcases photographs of the riverside community from the past to the present.

Chinese-style costumes are available for rent for photo shoots at an affordable price of 20 baht.

The wall of this room is plastered with cement, leaving gaps to reveal the raw brickwork.

As we ascend the stairs, we are greeted by historical photographs, information about the riverside community of Chanthaburi, and the history of this house.

This is another popular spot for visitors to take photos.

After exploring the old community, we crossed the bridge to admire the beauty of the Immaculate Conception Church, also known as the Saphan Nirom Bridge.

The Chanthaburi Catholic Church, also known as the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, is a century-old landmark in the riverside community of Chanthaburi.

After visiting the chapel, we crossed the bridge and returned to this noodle shop, "Auntie Eed's." It was very crowded.

After we had walked around and taken enough photos, we set off for our next destination: the "Nang Phaya Viewpoint".

The Nang Phaya Viewpoint is located by the sea, offering stunning views of the coastal cliffs and the picturesque winding road. This location has been featured in numerous commercials, becoming an iconic landmark for tourists.

From another perspective, the view of the ocean is beautiful in a different way.

Along the way, there are scenic viewpoints where you can stop to admire the sunset and take beautiful photos.

The trip is over. We only had one full day to explore, but it was worth it.

The cost of this trip

The cost of staying at Baan Suan Rim Nam Homestay is 700 baht per person. (The accommodation includes 1 house with air conditioning, TV, 2 private bathrooms, refrigerator, Wi-Fi, and all amenities.)

Lunch costs 500 baht per person (all-you-can-eat, even better than a buffet, with all-seafood dishes).

The round-trip fuel cost for the entire journey was 300 baht per person (I don't know if that's enough, but that's all we paid. 555 The driver was kind enough to take us, haha. If it's not enough, we'll treat you to dinner tonight, hehe).

Apart from that, Jippata can buy whatever she wants and eat whatever she wants with her own money.
