This is another episode of my review that I am proud to present. It is an honor for everyone to watch it. I paid for all the expenses of this review myself, without any sponsors. Therefore, when tasting the food, it is my own taste buds that perceive the flavors. If anyone is interested, has questions, or wants to chat with me, please visit my Facebook page: Little Duck in the Fog or https://www.facebook.com/littleduckinthefog.

I'm trying to change my review style to be more concise, so you can get straight to the point without too much fluff. I'll try my best, as I tend to ramble on sometimes. Haha! Another thing I want to mention in this review is that I ate quite a lot on this trip. Anything that wasn't delicious, I won't mention or criticize, unless it was truly terrible. Haha! As I said, this is just my personal taste, so it might not align with yours.
I used a Thai Airways promotional round-trip ticket for 2,500 baht. I flew on a B747, which was very comfortable. On the return flight, I flew on an A330, which was very narrow.
I arrived at the airport and rented a car from Avis (which I had booked online). The total cost for 3 days and 2 nights was 3,800 baht. I used 740 baht for fuel, which I filled up before returning the car.
The first restaurant I will take you to is called Chomchan, located on Yaowarat Road (in Phuket). It's in the Talat Yai subdistrict. You can easily find it using an app. The restaurant has 3-4 parking spaces, but you can also park on the side of the road.
I arrived around noon. The interior of the shop was decorated in a lovely vintage style, with a quiet, luxurious, and stylish atmosphere.
It's worth noting that the food prices are quite high, but I can assure you that it's worth every penny, unlike the last restaurant I'll be reviewing (spoiler alert, haha!). The six dishes I ordered were: crab curry set, black pepper soft-shell crab, stir-fried crab roe with chili and salt, stir-fried water spinach with shrimp, steamed crab meat with seafood dipping sauce, and braised pork.
The prices are as follows: crab curry set 370, black pepper soft-shell crab 220, stir-fried crab eggs with chili and salt 220, stir-fried water spinach with shrimp 220, steamed crab meat with seafood dipping sauce 350 (on the menu it says 450 but they charged 350), braised pork 150 (not pictured because my mom makes it often and it tastes the same as hers, haha), bottled water 20 (a bit pricey). Everything was delicious, but the standout dishes were the stir-fried crab eggs with chili and salt and the crab curry set. I don't like chili, but I devoured the entire plate of stir-fried crab eggs. It was a perfect balance of salty, spicy, and savory. I can't describe the taste, but it was amazing. Just order it. The crab curry set was also incredible. The crab was fresh and the curry was rich and flavorful. It was a bit spicy, but it was so delicious. Don't miss it.
We should be full by now, and the food was delicious. Let's move on to dessert. This ice cream shop is called Torry's and is located in Soi Rommanee, Thanon Thalang (between Thanon Dibuk and Thanon Thalang). (See picture on the right.) There weren't many people waiting outside, but it was packed inside. However, we only had to wait for 2-3 groups before getting a table.
The interior design of the shop is a blend of European vintage style with a touch of Thai influence.
The highlight of the ice cream here is that they mix local Phuket desserts with ice cream, creating a unique and unconventional experience. There are many flavors to choose from, with prices ranging from around 70 to 100 baht. I don't remember the exact price, as my wife paid. As for the taste, it was average in my opinion, but not bad. It wasn't "wow," but I appreciate their unique approach.
In the early evening, I will take you to the Fun Friday Avenue Market, located at the Boat Avenue Mall Phuket. It is only open on Fridays from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM. There are quite a few restaurants within the project, and the market also sells food. The picture on the top left is of a restaurant called "Chon Ngern," which has beautiful props and reasonably priced food compared to "Chom Chan," although it is not cheap. I looked at the menu, but I don't know how it tastes. I'm already full, haha!
This market is full of foreigners. The cool breeze, a cold beer, and live music… what more could you ask for in life? Right?
How about it, brother?
The next morning, I had dim sum at Boonratan Gold, located on Soi Moo Baan Chao Fah, Chao Fah Tawan Tok Road. Parking is available on the side streets.
Dim sum prices ranged from 12 to 25 baht. We ordered a lot without even looking at the prices. Haha. Bak kut teh was around 60-70 baht. However, I'm not sure if we ordered too much, went too early, or weren't hungry, but it wasn't very impressive. (This is the first restaurant I've reviewed that wasn't impressive. I'm not getting paid for this, just speaking my mind.)
The last restaurant I would recommend is "Don't go". The crab curry is very thin and sweet, 250 baht. The seafood steamed in banana leaf cups is 40 baht each, which is okay. The oysters are 50 baht each, which is okay, they are fresh. I don't remember the price of the crab rolls, but they are doughy. The omelette and papaya salad, I don't know the price, I didn't order them myself and didn't eat them either. The cockles are not fresh. The stir-fried bitter melon is the best, very delicious. It has the smell of a burnt wok. This dish is the best.
The top picture shows "shrimp ordered from this restaurant," with approximately 15 pieces. They claim it's 1 kilogram for 900 baht. In comparison, the bottom picture shows "shrimp bought from Lotus Chaeng Talay," costing 239 baht per kilogram. I microwaved them myself. I bought less than half a kilogram, around 3-4 "chid" (a Thai unit of weight), for a total of 67 baht, with 11 pieces. They were sweet, crunchy, and fresh. (I have no intention of attacking any restaurant, but I saw reviews where everyone went to eat and said it was delicious, so I tried it myself. Unfortunately, my taste buds weren't up to par. I only liked the stir-fried bitter melon.) In conclusion, it wasn't "wow." Maybe I don't know enough about different types of shrimp, or maybe my taste buds just aren't refined enough. The restaurant is located near Laem..., in the central-eastern part of Phuket Island.
The night ends with a visit to a ubiquitous soybean milk shop in Phuket. It seems that every corner of the island boasts a soybean milk vendor, leaving one to wonder if any other beverage shops even exist. Upon inquiring with the vendor, we learn that while shops in the city center may stay open until midnight, this particular establishment closes its doors between 10 and 11 pm. The highlight of the experience is undoubtedly the soft, fluffy buns, meticulously injected with fillings like condensed milk or blueberry, ensuring that every morsel of the dough is infused with flavor. This, I must say, is truly impressive. The soybean milk itself is unremarkable, offering a standard taste.
